Everyone is so down on strippers
Oh my god haha if I hear one more person tell me how awful stripping is and how I'm going to end up a broke junkie with no options because no one wants to hire an ex-stripper, I don't even know what I'll do.
I plan on doing any blow VERY rarely and only on special occasions like birthday parties or celebrating a reached goal. I plan on working in entertainment forever, and "degrading" myself up on stage dressing up in costumes, doing cool pole tricks, and getting naked for custies sounds like a god damn blast. A stage show is a stage show is a stage show, and I want to be a singer. I don't see how it's different other than taking off your clothes, which, who knows, I might work that in.
I'm looking forward to hustling my ass off, working most nights, and making some serious BANK and achieving my life goals no matter who wants to impose their own morality on me. I can't be stopped hahaha, this has been your cheesy inspirational post for the day.

Re: Everyone is so down on strippers
I do NOT recommend doing drugs at work. Ever. For any reason. Even if it's blow, "only rarely." If you go into this industry with that mindset, it's very toxic and habit-forming and you'll burn out quick.
This can definitely be a fun job, but never forget that, above all, you need to be PROFESSIONAL. The best customers aren't looking for some crazy party girl to get fucked up with...if they wanted that, they'd go to a regular club and buy some skanky chick a couple of shots. They are at strip clubs for a very unique experience, and you have to know how to interact with them and how to sell that experience. It's not just being sexy and taking off your clothes; in fact, the top earners are RARELY the best looking/sexiest girls. You have to have social skills, you have to know what the customer is looking for and be able to cater to his needs, and you have to maintain your integrity. A LOT of girls come into this industry cause they think it'll be easy and fun and glamorous. They usually don't last long.
As far as people telling you that strippers are all junkies, etc., you just have to prove them wrong. Before I started dancing, people told me that. After I'd been doing it for awhile and hadn't turned into some alcoholic/druggie chick going home with customers, and after I started being responsible with my money, people stopped bringing up stripper stereotypes and started asking how they could get into the industry, too. Just be professional and maintain your integrity, and show them you're in the industry for mature reasons, and they'll stop making those sorts of comments.

You'll be more likely to get addicted to blow since you'll tend to have cash in hand :/ Don't get me wrong I've experimented. As far as the morality thing I agree
Nobody in my life knows I strip. I don't feel guilty about the stripping in itself I feel guilty for keeping the secret. Especially from my boyfriend... sometimes I literally feel sick with guilt. Yet I'm excited to go to work. So far I've enjoyed it. I'm going to help my boyfriend through college. Hopefully if he finds out he'll forgive me but yes the stripping in itself i don't see anything wrong with it.
The way I see it as long as you're safe, you're kind and you're thinking about the future it's a fun way to make lots of cash...

Re: Everyone is so down on strippers
dont do drugs at work. esp dont "plan" on doing it "very rarley" trust me it will become much more frequent than what you "planned" for..if your looking for trouble your going to find it the scary thing about blow is it may seem like it will help you get ahead in the beginning, but really in the end it slowly takes away all your money. i have experimented before so im not one to judge or tell you what to do.. just a friendly suggestion. i have always said if your going to be a dancer, have something to show for it. you have the oppertunity to make mad bank and can afford luxuries that most people only dream about. dont waste it away with drugs , alcohol, or things like that... just sayin.
people are down on strippers becuase they are jealous. there are the junkies out there but theres a group of fuck ups in any job. just dont be like them. alot of girls dont have the guts to get up on stage and make the kinda money you do so they have to find a way to make it sound bad to make themselves feel better. dont let them get to you just focus on the $$$.

Re: Everyone is so down on strippers
1.) Stripper = dancer = independent contractor. Prepare to have "fun" filing your taxes. Actually, it is kind of fun, because you can now claim all your hair & makeup expenditures as tax-deductible. Just be smart about keeping salon receipts!
2.) Don't do blow. Don't get drunk at work. Stimulants are not your friends.
3.) There are tons of girls willing to take their clothes off for free with the right combination of liqueur. Don't be one of them. Strippers get paid to take their clothes off because they're better & classier about it.
4.) Eat a lot of carbs, do a lot of pole tricks. The Fine Asskins Diet.
5.) Don't let other girls, or anyone else in the world, bring you down.
(stuff I have to remind myself, too, since I'm in the same boat as you...)

Re: Everyone is so down on strippers
Not so! I worked as a Operations Mechanic At Con Edison in New York, Tech 4 & 5 in the Electricians Union in California, and HPD in New York. I started stripping because of the Inability to receive equal opportunity in the work place with these jobs. My marriage desolved and I had to support my kids. I would gladly strip rather than sleep with someone on the job to keep it. Not everyone has the look or the body to be a stripper. Drugs I don't do....

Re: Everyone is so down on strippers
^I do this job in between contracting jobs (electrical and information technology; those are my trades) and in between military assignments (I'm also a reservist). At least I have a bunch of back ups.
-
Re: Everyone is so down on strippers
I used to do blow "occasionally" at work. This meant about every night until I overdosed in 2006. -_-
I won't say don't do it but know your limitations and don't accept shit from people you don't know. It could be cut with rat poison, meth, god only knows what. I learned that lesson back in the day when I snorted some bad shit and it burned the skin under my nose.
Or worse it could be undercover LE trying to bust you.
This job isn't always going to be glamorous and nothing lasts forever. Enjoy it while it lasts.
You are going to have bad nights. Be prepared for that. I have seen too many newbs raving about their first night making bank for about a week and then wondering why they've crashed and burned.

first off, striping is not all fun and games. however, i dont need to tell you this, you will figure it out through experience.
in regards to doing blow at work: i dont recommend doing it at work because it can get you fired or arrested or a slew of other problems. HOWEVER, i feel like 90% of the girls on this site are either completely straight edge when it comes to illegal drugs or happened to be cursed with incredibly addictive personalities, because the common thought on here is that if you do blow a few times you will suddenly turn into a coked out fiend. i disagree with this, as someone who has recreationally used various substances and who knows plenty of people who are able to recreationally use drugs without having full blown addictions. if you have an addictive personality, stay away. but if you already know you are someone who can once and a while have a bump and not crave more, i wouldnt panic.

Good luck on finding a marine boyfriend if you want to do blow; I don't think any of my marines want to lose a precious thing like a security clearance for a crack head stripper.
Another reason to not do any drugs.

It's very obvious to those of us who have actually been in the military that you are a liar. Just wanted to let you know that dear.

Like, people you've sold dances to. And people you work with.
It's especially hard to ignore hypocritical self righteous statements from someone who works in an industry HEAVILY fueled by amphetamine.
she seems to mostly come on this site to make self righteous statements.
ive known plenty of military folk who have done blow. and rich old white men in 'successful' positions in life. and normal people. doing blow once in a while != crackhead. i think some people took D.A.R.E classes way too seriously.

hmm i dont remember any posts in regards to her being addicted to any sort of drugs.
however, i do recall that she posted about how she had a sexual addiction and stripping helped her get over her sexual addiction.

Same here, my ex husband's entire unit (Army) pissed hot for blow. Then the National Guard guy from WV that I moved to Deming NM did it occasionally.
Before all this gets out of hand, -_- I think we should remember that moderation is the key for those that choose to do blow recreationally.
I am an ex addict, as I have stated before. I know my limits and unfortunately I have no self control when it comes to cocaine. My friends know this and respect this. If they choose to do it, either they leave the room, or I'll excuse myself to go play video games.
They don't try to pressure me into doing any, and I don't give them a soapbox sermon on the evils of drugs.
Drugs aren't bad, it's people that make unwise choices by not realizing their limitations and sticking to it, whether it's a line at a party 3x a year or cold turkey like me.

Re: Everyone is so down on strippers

1) Yes, very few people want to hire an ex-stripper. Your goal going into this industry is to make as much money as you can, as fast as you can, whether that means working hard for 10 years, or 2 months. Stripping is not something you can *usually* put on a resume. So you have to develop other skills while you are dancing, in preparation for leaving the industry, because you will want to, or will be forced to eventually. That can be going to school, interning, volunteering, part-time or full-time straight jobs, or saving and taking classes and seminars to learn entrepreneurship skills. Actually, you should be saving either way.
2) I've been reading this thread and I'm with Athena on the blow stance. I've also done it recreationally a few times, its not my favourite thing to do, in fact its probably my least favourite drug, after doing I dunnno 5 or 6 lines one night I woke up the next day feeling like I got smacked by a train with the most terrible "cold". Couldn't do anything but sit around alllll day. Waste. Anyways, saying you want to do it as celebration for a reached goal makes me worried you are going to use it as a means to reward yourself? Like I said, occaisonal use, fine, but as a reward...Enh, I dunno, sounds like that could get pretty messy, pretty quick. Like others have stated. DO NOT do drugs at work. Don't even BRING drugs to work. Or buy drugs at work. You do not want to be scrambling to flush whatever is in your purse/locker during a raid. You wouldn't get high at a regular job, so don't get high at this one. It's for your own advantage! You'll make more money :)
3) I know stripping sounds like a "goddamn blast" now, and it can be pretty fun sometimes. But everyone has bad nights, where they HATE their job. You may get burnt out and need a break once in a while. This job is emotionally and physically stressful sometimes, this is again why its important for you to have a "back-up" job or at least a means to obtain a "back-up" job if/when you need to take a break. And people WILL impose their morals on you. When I started I used to think "well...if my parents find out, I'll tell them to suck it since they didn't want to pay for school anyways" What actually happened was I COULDN'T work for almost 3 months because of the emotional rollar coaster they put me through, another reason why savings is important.
Sorry for the long post, just some words of caution! Dancing can be great but it can also lead to trouble in some girls.
-
Re: Everyone is so down on strippers
I'm just curious how long you've been dancing? I hope you listen to what a lot of these girls are saying. Its not a good idea to do drugs at work. I don't even drink anymore. Like most, I'm not saying that I never took anything or was ever drunk at work. I'm just telling you the older I got, the wiser I got. The bottom line is if you want to succeed in dancing and make great money you have to treat this like a business. You should be all business when you're there. I tell my friends I'm in the business of extracting money from wallets.
-
Re: Everyone is so down on strippers
Or if you absolutely have to stick your hand in the cookie jar (I know I did) while at work be discreet.
If you feel you must have a line do it minimally. I remember it would suck ass when I was coming down, especially when I was on stage, all I wanted was my next line. Coming down blows ass, especially at work.
But this is something that you have to discover for yourself, nobody can preach or lecture you. Please be smart and don't accept stuff from people you don't know.

ive known more than one girl who doesnt bring or buy or sell coke but will be willing to do it in the privacy of the CR with a custie at the correct price. might not be a normal event, but they might not be opposed to it if the price is right. there are a few threads on here detailing how some customers come in because they dont want to do drugs alone.

Re: Everyone is so down on strippers
^OMG that's happened to me like 3 times! I mean, offered. I had never tried it before though at the time and was like ehum...coke from strange man in strip club vip=not good idea. I never understood why these guys kept wanting to pay me to do coke with them :s it all makes sense now a few months later.

Re: Everyone is so down on strippers
i've even had customers at work give me shit about dancing... people just assume we blow all of our money because of the loud, proud rock of love type stripper stereotype.
i don't see any other occupation i could have that would allow me to be totally debt free, comfortable every month, enjoy tons of freedoms, and pay for school.
-
Re: Everyone is so down on strippers
Oh wow haha I never said I was gonna do any at work. I just put that in a post because someone that knows I occasionally do it was ranting at me about how if I started dancing I would turn into a full blown addict.
Thanks, though, everyone, for all the advice and other words of caution....we're on the same page.

eh if a guy has a week at work that makes him want to do some blow, either because he has a problem and uses coke when he is depressed or because he had a very awesome week and feels like coke and strippers is the way to celebrate, he probably cant go home and ask his wife to do it with him so.... SC is a logical choice.

hmm i never thought about crushing up nodoz. however, keep in mind if you plan to deliver 'cocaine' it might be violating a law even if the 'cocaine' is actually just a crushed caffeine pill. kind if like if you promise to deliver a blowjob it is against the law even if you never plan to deliver.

i just get snarky with these guys. im like "yea i need it for my raging coke, meth, and heroine addictions. also i have 3 kids and 12 cats living at home that are super hungry rignt now. and i have a boyfriend.... deep down he is a sweetheart but due to a tragic terminal case of laziness he is unable to support himself. so please, you must understand, i am a damsel in distress. please, i need you to rescue me." its the most effective way to make them get off the topic IMO.

Re: Everyone is so down on strippers
+1 for the OP's positivity! Yes you will have doubts someday of course but RIGHT NOW you really have all the right tools for success. Attitude, A-game, Looks, etc. You are definately the type of new girl to walk into a club and make all those ol' bitches start hatin'. Thats a compliment. Make your paper boo boo.
