Re: FINALLY getting started
One of the biggest mistakes you can make is spending a bunch of money on outfits before you've been hired/tried it out for a week or two.
A lot of new girls will spend a ton of $$$ on outfits the first month... and then never wear them after that.
^^^Like she said. A simple bra/panty set is good enough to get you started at most clubs... just pick up a pair of shoes.
Re: FINALLY getting started
You'd be surprised at how many outfits you'll be able to find in your closet already that will do for your first couple shifts, espescially if you go clubbing a lot or have a lot of party clothes. That scandalous "dress" that's really more like a shirt that you can only wear with leggings or tights, perfect for stripping! You look pretty young, do you still have any of your prostitot wear around? You know, those micro minis and super padded camis that were popular circa 2005 around the same time you were probably starting high school and going through that I NEED TO SHOW OFF MY NEW BODY THAT HAS BOOBS phase that every 14 year old goes through. Or hit up the slutty juniors stores like forever 21/sirens/stitches, etc. Fredericks does have some really awesome stuff but make sure you like the job first before you invest too much. I would get a pair of black patent finish shoes for your first pair. The clear plastic can cut into your feet espescially if you're really not used to stripper shoes yet and your feet have yet to toughen up. Plus black goes with everything. And its classy ;)
Re: FINALLY getting started
^^^This is even good advice for those of us that are already dancing!
Re: FINALLY getting started
90% of my outfits are hand-me-downs from other dancers. Granted, I took a year off, and I gave a lot of my old stuff to other girls then, so I don't have much period.
There is always going to be a girl with an outfit that she doesn't like. Maybe when you start off (NOT the first day. Get a feel for the other girls first!), ask if anyone has old outfits they want to sell. This way, you will be wearing the right kinds of clothes for the club.
Good luck!
Re: FINALLY getting started
When I started again (I did have a short stint as a dancer last year, spent way to much money, and then had all of it stolen out of my car which wasn't covered by my car insurance!) I refuse to spend much money.
I started out in a pair of "stripperish" heels that I purchased from Rue21 for $3 on Black Friday (before I knew I'd be dancing again actually) which happened to have decent bottoms that didn't slide to bad on the wood floor, a few matching bra/panty sets, a few short dresses (the shirt length ones), a button down shirt, a few "teddies" I'd bought on sale previously from WalMart, a bunch of Rue21 undies, and that was about it.
I have since bought:
~real shoes (my cheapies where breaking)-$30
~one metalic rainbow colored dance outfit-$32
~a black see through dress to wear over my matching sets-$10
~an array of pink BodyZone gear - the thong, boy shorts, tie bikini bottoms, and a bikini top so I can switch things out- my local adult store lady loves me so this total was like$24
~a secretary costume -$15
~a short skirt and tie top pink/blk polka dot costume-$15
Total so far? $126 (and 54 of it was lastnight)
