Stripper Reality show coming?
Ok so I don't know if anyone has posted this before but as I was browsing the net I came across an article [a recent one too] that mentions a possible stripper reality show. the links are:
http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2011/03...o_75_year.html<< this one talks about ken starr's wife audtioning for the show
and
http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2011/02...g_back_up.html << this one talks about the show [briefly]
I'm curious to know if anyone else has heard about a possible "reality" show and if it does come to light do you think that it will make people look down on stripping even more or shed a more positive light on the industry?
I mean they don't explain much except that it is supposed to be a sort of behind the scenes look but just based off of other reality shows and the drama that surrounds them what do you think would happen with this show & would the wife of a ponzi schemer make things worse?
As a newcomer to stripping I don't have much of an opinion right now but from the reality shows I see TV it seems like they all [or most] make people look stupid.
Re: Stripper Reality show coming?
This cannot end well.
A second season demands it.
Oh look a kitty ------>
Re: Stripper Reality show coming?
I have'nt heard that. All I know is the people on the show make the show. So if the show is just about a bunch of drunk strippers actn the ass it will make us look bad. But if the show is about woman just making a living and being independent and they have good girls on the show it would turn out great. Either way people would watch.
Re: Stripper Reality show coming?
I hate these things because they always make stripper look bad.

Re: Stripper Reality show coming?
Gosh, I hope not. I haven't heard of a stripper reality show before now (Britney Ireland mentioned the idea of one breifly in a thread on here, but just as a brainstorming idea), but given the way reality shows are edited and staged now, it's going to have a negative impact on the industry.
I can see it completely over glamorizing stripping, exaggerating profit potential in a probably over-saturated area (Thinking Vegas, Miami or New YorK), it's going to dramatize the daily lives of dancers, and encourage girls who should have nothing to do with the industry to become strippers because of the lifestyle the see on a TV show.
Probably going to center around a group of bitchy, egotistical girls who make thousands a night putting in little work while they throw shoes at each other and drink Patron. No hustling, no real work, and certainly no reality.

Re: Stripper Reality show coming?
HBO did a show about strippers years ago.
Re: Stripper Reality show coming?
I picture it being like Bad Girls Club on the Oxygen Network, just crazy girls shouting and fighting. I've seen documentaries about strippers before and they totally over exaggerate the money dancers make and downplay the psychological toll that it takes on you. I think it would also encourage more people into this business.
Re: Stripper Reality show coming?
yeah, G string divas was around for a while on HBO.
In any case, a ''reality'' show about dancers, will create an illusion of what its NOT like
