Stick a tampon up yer snatch and cut that string! Don't spread onstage, don't wear light colors. Baby wipe often. Don't work on your heaviest days, if you don't have to.
There are usually instructions in the box for tampons. Relaxation is key.
okay i did. whew that wasn't bad at all. i've always been scared of tampons. i wont cut the string i'll just tape it to the front of my g string and not remove my panties.
^ Why have you always been scared of tampons?
I've never used pads if I could help it. They feel like fucking diapers to me. But I remember when I was in 10th grade and one of my friends found out I used tampons, she was like, "But you can't use those for years after you start your period! They can mess up your vagina!" I don't know where she got that, because otherwise she was quite smart. But this was in the Bible Belt, so who knows, maybe some Christians thought they were immoral or something. Wouldn't surprise me.
Seriously, though, tampons are a fucking life saver. After using them for one period you'll never want to use anything else. I recommend Tampax Pearl or O.B. They're the most comfortable. I also recommend either buying a value pack of different absorbency levels, or a pack of each level. Start off with the normal, then when your period is heavier, go to the super. Then towards the end, go with the light. If you spot a lot, I recommend always carrying a light-absorbency tampon in your purse for emergencies, and maybe some normal and super ones in your locker or bag.
Congratulations on your first time using a tampon! Next stop...ANAL! :)
Don't tape the string to your panties. That is really weird. Like bathing suit in the shower weird. You can tuck the string, but you don't seem like the type who wants to touch her vagina. Pull the string up toward the top of your slit (sorry..that word is obscene) and it should stay put there just fine.
ps..Your tampon will not get lost up there.
Maybe not the best suggestion if afraid of tampons, but I use a DivaCup and I love it! So much more comfortable to me than tampons. I can't feel it in there and don't have to deal with any strings. :)
I have a disorder called vaginismus.
I have to feel very safe/ comfortable if I'm going to be penetrated. I'm not a virgin but I've only had one sexual partner whom I was with for years. Pap smears are literally excruciating ( I actually threw up from the pain)
Basically my vaginal walls contract if I'm nervous in any way.
It's a subconscious reaction like blinking an eye.
You can do very little to control it.
I'm actually going to have a procedure done..where they inject botax down there to relieve the contractions.
That way I won't have to wait six months to a year to sleep with someone I may develop a connection with in the future. You know?
I also use the Diva Cup and I highly recommend it. It's not for everyone as you definitely have to not be squeamish about inserting/removing something from your vagina, but it's so nice when it's in - you can't even feel it! It can last my whole shift without needing to change it, and I barely even have to worry about it (and no more worrying about my BRIGHT WHITE string accidentally coming out and glowing in the black light). Definitely something to look into if you're looking for alternative solutions. :)

Sorry to derail here, but how do you get the diva cup out? Do you squeeze it out with your vag muscles or take it out with your hand?
^ You take it out with your hand.
I love mine, personally.
It's a bit weird at first, because you have to spend more time figuring out what positioning works for you. But I can basically forget I'm on my period with mine. I change it once a day. No risk of TSS, re-usable, awesomeness. I don't use tampons / pads at all. One $25 DivaCup has covered me for the last 3 years.
You take it out with your hand. If inserted correctly, it doesn't sit that high up in the vaginal canal, so you really only have to barely reach in in order to grab the end of it and pull it out. It's easier if you relax your muscles, actually, in case during the time you've had it in (like when you've been dancing) it has managed to slip up a little higher. Mine does that sometimes but I just relax and it falls right back down (and even when it is up higher, it doesn't get uncomfortable or anything - you can barely feel it).
Ever tried sea sponges? You can even have sex with them in, they're really safe, and mad comfy. Also reusable after a good wash with hydrogen peroxide and water! Saves loads of money1

Porn stars use them so they can work during their periods.
