this is a great question. most attractive girls with a good personality can bank on this in a big city area, i know a couple of my friends do. lol at the title of this thread lol
This is the kinda job where average tips go to average girls.
They dont make as great as you would think.
Ive heard through research around 45-65 in tips on average.
Yes, in a strip club, a night club and a restaurant. Could you be more specific? I'd love to share my experience(s) with you.
cam modeling will fuck up your perception on any job for the rest of your life i swear...
If this was directed at me, no, my perception of bartending has nothing to do with cam modeling. If anything, my perception has to do with being from New York City.
Some of my closest friends have bartended, as has my ex, as has my sister. A good bartender at a halfway decent bar will make 45 bucks in tips... AN HOUR. Much less is a pittance, seriously.
It sucked.
Yes, webcamming will spoil you for life.
Bartending: you still have to show up on time, listen to your stupid supervisor, and even when you're having a WICKED good night, it ends at last call.
Been there, done that.... got the t-shirt, .... took that t-shirt off.
Webcam = best job ever.
hehe no just my thoughts on hearing what you could earn doing any other job other than caming. even 45 an hour is kinda ehhhh, where are caming you could easily be making 100 if not more. you know what im trying to say. plus us girls have options if one site is slow we hop to the next. if a night is bad at the bar you are working... there isn't much you can do.
My friend works at cheddars at the bar and gets 45 overall , she says most people leave 3-5 in a tip.
Oh trust, I do like my camming job. It has been the job for me with the most earning potential so far, and I would not stop doing it presently for anything or anyone without a good reason. Just interested in potential side-hustles as well. Thanks.
Well, yeah, working at a second-rate chain would NOT be the best idea.
Common courtesy--at any bar, good or bad--is to tip 1 or 2 bucks PER DRINK. So, depending on how many drinks you sell per hour, you can make a hell of a lot of money.
One of the downsides of bartending, actually, is having to drink a lot yourself. Lonely regulars LOVE to buy the bartender drinks, cuz how fun is it to drink alone? I'm sober, so even if I didn't accept, I feel like it would be too triggering to me at the moment. But I still really respect the hustle of anyone who can do this type of work.
It seems awfully similar to camming, actually. It's all about being a paid friend, half-therapist, half-dealer.
Bartending is great if your a naturally friendly flirt. In England most guys dont have the courtsey to tip as much as americans, but I used to make anywhere between £20 - 50 tips per night, that was in a shithole of a bar. My friend, who models part time and is a party animal, worked as a bartender in a trendy London bar and on a good night well over £100+ easily, plus drinks and gifts bought for her all the time. Its also great for meeting interesting people and ones who have a good career, who may come in useful to you in the future, like estate agents, lawyers, and other officials whose advice could come in handy.
The downside is the wages and hours suck, you hear the same old stories night after night and some guys go too far when their drunk, then theres the drunk ladies..................they are even worse, especially if your attractive and their partners pay you any attention.
Good luck though xx
I bartended for 10 years and managed bartenders. It's a fun job and you can make a decent income. If you are fast, friendly, good at upping sales, good-looking and flirtatious, you can make anywhere from 20k-70k a year depending on how busy the club (or clubs) you work in is and how many shifts you work per week.
Act like you're where the party's at and sell sell sell! Know your shit and do it fast. Hustle and don't take any shit from custies.
2 rules:
1. Don't steal from customers or from the club. You will get caught eventually and club people talk. It only takes getting fired for stealing once and you can find yourself blackballed by all clubs in the area.
2. Don't ever get too drunk to count money accurately - the club's money, the customer's money, and your money.
I was about to sign up with a bartender agency - like a "work where you are needed" contract, but, they came off unprofessional. I don't take those risks anymore. Thanks guys. I will keep researching.
Don't bother signing up with a bartender agency. It won't be worth your time for the money you'll make. But you can make bank as a bartender if you're good and you choose the right place to work for you.
Someone said that it's not that much different than camming. I'd have to agree. You've got your regulars, you've got your beggars, you've got your assholes, you've got your lonely hearts, you've got your psych cases, you've got your white knights, you've got your frat boys and sorority girls and you've got your sugar daddies/mammas. It's a service industry, but it's special, like camming, and your personality will make or break you. Looks have a bearing too, but not as much as personality and attitude.
Working someplace like cheddars or the service bar for a restaurant isn't where you want to be though. That's where an agency would likely place you and you might make $45 a night. Pfff
I used to work Friday and Saturday nights at a small restaurant/bar on a marina. It was actually set up kind of like a "Cheers" bar. You know the old TV show? But it also had a small dance floor and live music on the weekends. I would take home an average of $350 a night in cash (tips) + a lousy hourly wage that would be paid once a week. That's the wage you claim for taxes. It was hard work (physically), but it was also a LOT of fun. You use your game there just like you do camming. In my case, the clientele was a mix of middle - late middle age rich and college poor. Getting drunk wasn't too much of a concern either because well, I'm the one pouring the drinks. Flirt, laugh, listen, dance, wiggle, compliment, PERFORM and have fun. Bartending was one of the most fun jobs I've ever done, and it was easy money. But I chose someplace that worked for me and that I could work. I think that anyone who knows people as well as they do from camming, could easily make great money bartending if they're into it. Just really think about the type of customer base and atmosphere you'll be most comfortable in and target those places.
The girls I worked with made about the same as I did, but I made more than the other guys. Because I worked the customers. And they ate it up.

I love you so much for saying that lol!!!!!
I know, right! Jessica I LOVE your posts!!!
As far as the thread, I would rather coctail, I've done both, but eh not anymore. Good luck to you though.
I'm in bartending school right now! I'm so glad I decided to finally go. I had tried to get bartending jobs before (while dancing) but they looked at me like I was from another planet for trying to just "jump right in" lol. I have cocktailed at a dive bar= but did not like the crowd and quit 3 days in to go back to stripping and waited on the lunch and dinner crowds at restaurants with bars when I was much younger. SO I'm looking forward to starting out just anywhere and getting experience :D
If you're an outgoing, confident personality, bartending can be a riot and great money. At least I had tons of fun doing it. I also think it's as much a performance as stripping/camming is, but of a different flavor. If you're just walking around pouring drinks don't expect to make bank. But if you're a natural performer and don't mind the spotlight, the money is definitely there. You do have to know your poisons though, and know them for real. It's not something you can fake.
On a side note, the atmosphere can get old after a while. Being a popular (translate "banking") bartender has it's share of pitfalls too. I had to set rules for myself, and stick to them, because of the number and variety of different propositions that would sometimes be passed along with those great tips. Everything from sex to drugs to sugarworld.
BTW, I'm a professional now, but I still get off on mixing drinks for people. Things they've never heard of that make them go mmmmmm.

Never worked as a Bartender, but it's my cover job.
Posted a thread about a month ago about how to lie convincingly abour it: http://forum.stripperweb.com/showthread.php?t=157460 - in case anyone is interested.
Now that I've brushed up on my bar lingo and knowledge....I actually really want a bar-tending job, but am too shy to start applying places.
Yep. To shy to apply to tend bar, but no qualms with taking my clothes off and prancing around a stage.
I'm going to be glued to this thread, really want to hear other girls experiences.
Oooo, my old thread. Like I stated earlier I didn't go for the agency because they seemed too unprofessional. The day after I realized this - they didn't call me back to review for job/interview (they were supposed to after they liked my look) - I didn't bother touching base. Then one night around 1am I get a call from the agency number. I didn't answer, however couldn't help thinking I got the job, but no one ever told me. That's the only reason I would think they would call me at 1 in the morning.
I would love to be a bartender and a bar with "character". One of those dive places, with nightly regulars. Every now and again I touch up on the drink mixes.
