"With 309 confirmed kills, she became a heroic figure to the Soviets—but the American media didn't know what to make of her."
"She was the most successful female sniper in history, and one of the most successful snipers, period. As a member of the Soviet Army during World War II, she killed 309 Nazis, earning the sobriquet “Lady Death.”

You can tell who in these photos hasn’t learned about hot brass by what they’re wearing, or else they’re just posing for photos and not actually firing. I remember I wore a pair of western boots to go out shooting with some coworkers, and I had a piece of brass go into my boot. Pulled off some moves that would’ve impressed James Brown with that one.
The worst was the M240B range. I had the cuffs of my ACU blouse loose, and two pieces of brass went into the sleeve. So I ended up with these two big red imprints of a 7.62 shell casing on my forearm for some time.
Except in anticipation of encountering *mud* or similar substances I wear my jeans over my boots.
Even those ladies who actually shoot now seem to take posing for photographs as a separate event.

This is why I don’t worry about trying to look sexy at the range, during a CASS or IPSC/IDPA shoot, etc. I always cringe when I see these videos of women shooting in bikinis, low cut shirts, etc. Maybe if you were pretty flat, but I’m not lacking in that area, and I’d be anticipating the worst if I went shooting dressed as such.
Her stance is kinda shitty, too, but that’s a whole separate matter.
