doesn't seem to make a difference to me. as long as I'm not going in totally exhausted or miserable, I have a respectable average.
After about 6 steady months of dancing I noticed that most of my earnings happened in the first 2 hours after the club opened, and the last 2 hours they were open ; so for my club that was 5-7pm and 12midnight-2am. It's fairly common sense why too - business men who get off work around 5 or 6 come in and have a few dances with their collougues before heading home from work. The later group of men are usually out-of-towners coming in for business, getting off their flights late, and wanting a bit of company before they settle in at night in their nearby hotel, also, we get some partiers on Thus/Fri/Sat nights late too.
Anyway, if I was to go in for the full 9 hour shift, I would only really be making a lot of money for about 3-4 hours, and sitting around for the remaining 4-5 hours being bored and cold. This would result in me being more exhausted at the end of every shift, so I wouldn't work as many days a week; I'd be lucky to get my ass to go in 3 times a week.
Instead, I've decided to completely forgo that 'early' money (which you can't really count on unless it's a Thus or Fri) and I just go in the last 3 hours the club is open - but I'm able to go in more often and I now make more per hour. I have more energy for the later men that come in - who often have more money anyway. Instead of making $400 in a 9 hour shift, I can make $300 in a 2.5 hour shift - and that's if I don't get a room (which, I usually get 2 times a week for a few hours). Make sense? Now, my stage fees are higher because of this (about $60) but I think the extra $40 is worth it for higher doller/hour rate I'm making. And becasue I'm not doing full shifts I can go in more days a week. I think the extra time I have every day during the day helps make me a healthily and better adjusted person too.
I hate being on a schedule >:(
I go for less hours. But also working smart. Keeping track of events or conferences going on and times of the year when the club is busy or dead. Dont bother working on days that you know historically have been crap. If I wasnt a student Id still work 4 days but thats cause Im greedy.
My average is higher when I work fewer shifts, but overall I make more if I work more often. I have more energy to be working when I work less often and actually have fun/enjoy working then, so that definitely contributes to it. Since I'm in school and have another job, working at the club more often becomes draining and feel more like "work", so I get lazy and unmotivated to hustle.
I need to work 5 days a week. If I'm not in enough I can't stay in the swing of it, but if I work too much I get grouchy. I usually take Tuesday Wednesday off, then on Thursday I'm useless but at least I'm there. On Friday Saturday and sometimes Sunday I'm ready to kill it, and Monday I sit at the bar and drink fir free.
At my home club, I make most of my money like 4everslolutions. Midshift, I get a lot of club regulars so it's easy to make $1-200 in 2 hours, then it's dead for a good long while, then starts to get busy again around midnight. So I like to get to work around 700pm to catch the last of the late afternoon crowd, then I chill for a bit, then get back to work around 10-11pm and start hustling hard again.
But when I travel, it's hard to tell how the club is going to be, so I like to get there early and stay late til I know. After that, once you know how the club is and when you next go back you know how to work.
Example, I never work sundays except for this one club, where Sundays are killer. Or another club I know, I don't go in til 9 or 10 pm, which is abnormal for me as well, but days and midshifts at that club, your lucky to make $50 in 5 hours. so I'll pass and go in late.
Whenever I go to the club I'll stay 6 hours+ regardless (unless I get sick or extremely tired) so working more days equals more money for me but on average, I only work about four days a week.
I usually work three or four days at a week for about seven to nine hours. I work less if I don't feel like working, or more if I need to liquidate my credit card.
