Argh, I've been scammed on AW
Last night I was on AW, a guy came in in Private Mode... I don't usually pay attention to screen names, specially on AW where the text is so tiny, I just ask their names... So, he asked me if we could do c2c, I opened his cam as requested... I saw only his face, but he seemed very nice and I started a show... Well, he kept being nice and saying he was enjoying and making requests, I did everything he asked me for (it was quite of a "complete" show)... About 15 mins later he moved his cam and I could see there were 3 other guys in the room... I was mad, because I don't think you are suppose to do that, since one of the guys could be underage, but acted like "oh, a gangbang, wonderful!" and kept going on... At some point I saw they were laughing (now I think they were recording me) and I asked "why are you laughing" and they left.
Anyway, I woke up this morning and saw they asked for a refund. On what excuse? I don't think it was a stolen credit card, no one can get a refund because of that so quickly and usually no one notices that the card has been stolen so quickly... It was less than 10 hours after the show... Oh gosh, I feel, I feel... scammed, raped, furious and quite sad actually.
Do you think I can dispute this somehow?
Bottom line... Don't accept cockneyboys12 in your room, they are a bunch of fat mid-20's women haters that will probably scam you.

Re: Argh, I've been scammed on AW
I would also say beware of screenames in plural, if they wanna keep doing this, they will probably change their screen name.
-
Re: Argh, I've been scammed on AW
Thanks for the warning and I'm so sorry this happened to you. :( Some people are really scum.
I even think I saw that screenname shortly in my free chat last night...
Immature assholes!
*hugs*

Re: Argh, I've been scammed on AW
Thanks for the heads-up! But I'm so, so sorry this happened to you. Lame dudes have probably never seen a beautiful naked lady before.

Re: Argh, I've been scammed on AW
That's so weird and fucked up. Sorry that happened.
Sad too cause I usually love cockney boys, hehe.
But really fuck those guys.

Re: Argh, I've been scammed on AW

Re: Argh, I've been scammed on AW
Oh man. I am going to be absolutely paranoid now. :( That's so sad that this happened to you!

Re: Argh, I've been scammed on AW
Is it possible to report them? I would be fuming as you are and at least message adultwork about it...you never know they may give you the credits you deserve...its worth a try!
At least to say there was more than 1 of them watching you etc...they should be kicked off as a member on adultwok blah blah blah
Did you get the ip address? maybe pass this onto adultwork too...
Not sure what else to say but sorry this has happened to you.
Princess xx

Re: Argh, I've been scammed on AW
I would think after a chargeback they would be banned from AW's site. I really hope so. sorry to hear this happened to you, damn.
I hope this doesn't start happening more. I've gotten tons of chargebacks on ifriends and imlive but never AW yet.

Re: Argh, I've been scammed on AW
First, sorry this happened to you, but it is part of the business. We all get ripped off sometimes and it never feels good. Fortunately the camsites are just as annoyed by this as we are, and generally take as much precaution as possible to minimize it.
The bad news is, this being the online adult entertainment industry, anytime a customer files a chargeback, we will lose the money. Every single time. The credit card companies and banks always lean toward the side of the customer in these cases, but even moreso in adult business.
The good news is, most adult sites automatically block anyone who files a chargeback so that person can't make purchases from that site again. It isn't foolproof, but it does help keep out repeat offenders. I am sure adultwork does this. If it would make you feel better, email them politely and professionally asking for an explanation of the refund situation and whether they will block that person from using the site again.

Re: Argh, I've been scammed on AW
Its most likely just a group of bachelors (Maybe a bachelor party) that couldnt afford the club
and thought it would be fast and cheap and they could get there money back.
I wish there was a way to get charge back guys! It REALLY is stealing.
-
Re: Argh, I've been scammed on AW
I wish the camsites would post a blacklist on their sites with names, cities and IPs of those who do chargebacks. Wouldn't have to specify their purchase details, just a list of people who chargeback. That might deter the fuckers from continuing to pull that crap.
On a related note, indy girls could post lists of those who chargeback via paypal/alertpay/zombaio/etc. Post their usernames, emails, real names so that others could be warned not to deal with them. We could do a forum for that. I bet that might help curb their bullshit. haha

Re: Argh, I've been scammed on AW
Terrible what some people can do to other people in this world. :(
It may only be a small help now but I will add the refund into your pay so at least you havent lost anything in money terms.

Re: Argh, I've been scammed on AW
Thank you all for the answers!
Princess Jenny... wow, that' so kind! And yes, of course, it does make me feel better, although I will still be mad with the situation since they won't be charged...
I will write to AW today. I've been busy yesterday and didn't have time to do so... Someone asked if I got their IP, no I didn't, but maybe AW can track and ban them?
Actually, I feel particularly naive now because I remember thinking "well, they have shown me their faces, most likely it won't be a chargeback", even if the whole situation was really weird... urgh, I remember their faces pretty well...
I don't know if I should leave a negative feedback to them now, risking getting one myself, just to dispute it later... I've seen that you can see negative feedbacks left by members who are no longer active, even if they were disputed...

Re: Argh, I've been scammed on AW
^AW can definitely see their IP, that is a pretty standard part of online credit card processing. They should, as I believe any adult site worth a damn would, ban the IP, user account and billing info/credit card used for the transaction.

We should totally do this. Or at least a Wordpress password-protected blog or something. I know that escorts circulate "bad date" lists all the time. High time we did something similar!

Re: Argh, I've been scammed on AW
I run a cam site and I have my own idea about chargebacks: should not be the model only to risk the money, but both the site and the model.
This is for 2 reasons: 1) the girl made the show while the site haven't "worked" and 2) shoud be the site to figure out 50% of hackers and idiots at least, and model to find and report the other 50%, I mean if site was fooled, why only the model to pay back.
At ChatGF I have an insurance of $250 per 15 days pay period against chargebacks, which means unless you do more chanrgeback then $250 per 15 days, I eat all the loss, and in past year never a model got $1 of chargeback as those loss was all under the $250 per 15 days.
It happened earlier some $2000 chargebacks, was special cases of regular idiot who chat the model for 2 months then chargeback it all, that one is obvious FRAUD from him, but I can't prosecute easily (the banks not helping, as someone mentioned).. this is however very very rare and the girl know the guy well enough that I would say, can be her fault somewhat.
To give all the details, the chargeback cost to the site a $15 to $30 extra for each, and usually this is eat by the site, so the model is chargebacked only the private amout and not the chargeback fees, still I know no other site except mine who eats part of the minutes chargebacked (or if does, does it silently, by not tell of chargeback at all? I also not tell always the girls they got a chargeback and simply eat the loss, unless I have to ask them details or was big chargeback).
And there's more: the 3d secure (verified by visa and mastercard securecode) which is used in part by zombaio and some other biller (not in SM or most cam sites), if entered then give some tool to the site to dispute and revert the chargeback... so if it is one who change idea later but entered such code extra, there may be a defense - of course who plans to chargeback from start, may not enter such code (unless not a "pro" faud guy and enters it).
Ok I know this is complicated, but it is job of site - should NOT be the one of cam girl - I mean, if I am a site and I know all chargebacks are just $15 fee and I take back $$ from the girl, why I should put much effort in stop all the fraud guys?? Site can do it lazy, here and there, just to not do "too many". With my insurance thing if I not stop the idiots I lose money as a site so I am motivated in keep eyes super open on it.
Oh well but my site have not that much traffic so who care :)

WOW sounds great! But aren't you the site that requires girls to 'AUDITION IN THE NUDE FOR YOU" before being able to work?? I saw some posts about your requirements on other sites. Is this true?
-
Re: Argh, I've been scammed on AW
Also saw that you post their recorded nude audition show and place it on the site for free? Doesn't really sound all of that great regardless of the chargeback insurance.
-
Re: Argh, I've been scammed on AW
But back to the original thread. I'm sorry this happened to you but I must say nice save Princess Jenny!!! That was really kind of you to do:)

I am amazed you sure believe in conspiracy theories and UFO's too.
