Re: I have been scammed :(
first off - that sucks!! :(
second - you have something that'll tell you when you're being recorded?! What is this magical device... I needs it.
Re: I have been scammed :(
Be very careful with Paypal... I don't accept Paypal as payment unless I really know the customer well. But even then it's kind of a bad idea. I would use a different payment processor.
Re: I have been scammed :(
yes! no Paypal!
we have GOT to get everybody used to to payment processors that we can work with, like Alertpay and Zombaio.
also we all need that software that tells us when we are being recorded. most helpful....
Re: I have been scammed :(
Yep, guys WILL charge back on you. You need to be screening your customers better, apparently and don't rely so heavily on paypal. I don't accept paypal shows from anyone except trusted, long-term custies. Its far too easy to do what the first guy did to you.
Same with guys recording you. Its cool that you can catch them in the act but try watermarking the vids, too. Honestly, if my vids were watermarked, I wouldn't mind it as much if a guy tried to record the show. I'd charge quite a bit more for that perk, tho.
Re: I have been scammed :(
I don't have any software that tell me when I am recorded, it was a message that appear form skype telling that
I use zombaio too, but a lot of guys don't like to use credit/debit cards on the net and they prefer paypal, I didn't know that they can chargeback even when it is a gift ..it sucks
Re: I have been scammed :(
Amazon Gift Cards like whoa.
(sorry this happened to you. But yeah, PayPal is sheisty.)
Re: I have been scammed :(
The paypal thing fucking kills me. It's not 2003 anymore. Paypal is no good for cam girls. Don't accept them again. I'm sick of being asked by every guy that contacts me for an indy show if I take paypal.
I wish more girls would get this through their heads. It sucks that you got scammed but this is the reason I have never, not once, accepted paypal.

Re: I have been scammed :(
NEVER accept paypal. It is NOT worth the little bit of money you'll make from it. Guys who are serious will use another payment method that works for you. Alertpay, zombaio, amazon GIFT CARDS (not wishlist purchases because they can just cancel that order before it ships). Those who are all paranoid about using credit cards online can get greendot moneypaks and give you a code that you can enter into your greendot account to apply the funds immediately. No chargebacks possible this way ;)
If you accept amazon gift cards, just make sure you get the code and apply it to your account, and that it goes through, before you start the show. Again, the serious guys will wait for this to go through.
If they are being super impatient or insisting on using paypal, I simply ignore them. Too many paypal users have figured out that all they have to do is claim fraud to get their money back - it doesn't matter if the transaction was a gift or what. Guy claims fraud, you lose the money. End of story. DON'T USE PAYPAL. Paypal does not accept adult transactions of any kind, and it only takes 1 guy snitching on you 1 time to screw up your whole account and cost you money. Not worth it.
Re: I have been scammed :(
There is really no excuse for a guy to want to use Paypal. If he insists on it he is usually aware that chargebacks are very easy to do and he isn't going to pay you! If he can use Paypal he can use Alertpay, and if he intends to pay you and wants a show he will be more than happy to use the payment method that is a legitimate one.
Re: I have been scammed :(
As for recording skype shows, there is a certain fairly well-known program that will record skype video/audio automatically, and it has a checkbox to let the person know you're recording or not, which is set to yes by default. So I bet that guy was a newbie with that program and didn't notice the checkbox. That is why you got the message saying you were being recorded on skype.
Skype does NOT have a way to let you know you're being recorded. Nor is there, to my knowledge, any software available that can let you know this.
Basically, you should always assume you're being recorded and simply do not do anything on camera that you wouldn't want the world to see.
