First shift advice needed please...
Ok, so please keep in mind that I'm as green as a newbie can be here... I an planning on working my first shift today if all goes well. I am picking up my license and taking it straight to my club and I I'm going to ask to stay and work. There is no real schedule, its just show up and work anyway so I can't see why they wouldnt let me work. That being said now I'm almost more nervouse than I was at my audition. Now I have a gazillion questions! I feel like I should already know this but I don't. So please some one tell me: 1) How do I know when its my turn to do my song sets on stage? 2) what happens if I'm doing a VIP when its my turn to do my song sets? 3) what is the difference between my stage dance/table dance/lap dance/VIP? 4) How do you keep up with the time wile in a VIP? I mean if they pay for 15mins then how do you know when to stop? 5) If money is tossed onto the stage while I'm dancing my sets, how do I collect it sexily so as not to look trashy crawling around the floor grabbing it up? 6) When do house fees get paid? And what if something tragic happens and I don't make a single penny? How do I pay the house fees? 7) do I ned to stop by the bank on the way in and have some ones in hand for making change or something? And last for now, 8( Should I put some ones in my garter so I look like guys have already liked my show even if its just my own money or is an empty garter a better way to start a shift? Thank you all sooo much! Im sorry for being so lost with this. I'm just kind of pacing now, lol.....much!
Re: First shift advice needed please...
1) More often than not the DJ announces who is coming up next. Go up to the booth and select your songs. He'll usually keep announcing you until you come, or send someone to find you. To answer #2: This depends on the club: either you will get skipped because you are in VIP, you can tip the DJ extra to get him to skip you, or you have no choice and have to leave VIP to go and do your set. That last option is pretty rare though, its never happened in any clubs I've worked in. Don't be afraid to ask the manager these questions, its your first day you don't know the rules yet!
3) Stage dance: Done on the stage, to 3 song sets. Table Dance: done either in front of the customer, on a raised platform, or special table, sometimes the table will have a pole on it for you to use, done on the floor, either none or minimal contact. Lap Dance: Usually done in a back room type thing, clubs that don't have real VIP/champagne rooms will refer to the lap dance room as that. Set price per song, contact varies per area, sometimes one-way, sometimes 2-way (customer can touch you as well as you can touch customer). Champagne/VIP room: Paid for in blocks of time instead of per dance, sometimes comes with a bottle. I've read that some girls do higher contact in VIP/Champagne rooms, I've never worked in a club that has one.
4) Keep a cell phone with you in your little purse/clutch. Check it when you go in, check it when you think you're getting close, don't do it too frequently though or you'll come off as a "clockwatcher" and no one likes those. You can also guesstimate by how many songs have gone by, one song is usually between 3 and 4 minutes long, so 15 minutes would be 4 or 5 songs.
5) Bend down nice and sexy to grab your money. Stick your butt out and hair flip on your way up. Think "bend and snap" from legally blonde :)
6) Again, it depends on the club. In fact, so do a lot of your questions, I would do some research on the club you want to work at, read the reviews section or look for posts in club chat. Sometimes house fees are paid before your shift, sometimes after, sometimes during. Paying when you make little or nothing really depends on the club. Clubs that I've worked, unless you are required to pay your fee in advance did not force girls to pay if they made nothing, or very little.
7) Change is optional. Most dance prices are sold in easy denominations though, like 10s and 20s, that or the customer will get change for himself.
8) Up to you, I don't see why putting a few dollars in to start would be a bad thing though
