This is not hostile, but an honest question...
I am an ex dancer who works in webcam now and I've also done PSO, etc. I'm trying to understand why someone would still want to do live shows and deal with the stinky, grabby smelly drunks and perverts that come into the clubs and short change us instead of having the power of shows. Especially when you work with a network.
I do shows and I'm a recruiter because I was determined to get girls out of the clubs and into their own homes, etc. but I don't get it.
I've been lurking around the forums for awhile and finally decided to post because I saw a discussion about pubic hair and how they require or request you to have or not have it and what people are doing to get around that and so again, I just don't get it.
So what's the deal? What did I miss when I was dancing? :-\
Re: This is not hostile, but an honest question...
Personally I don't webcam because my husband is against it. He doesn't want my face, vagina, etc.. all over the internet.. Mostly he doesn't want family to come across my webcam page. I have more control over things like that at a SC. Chances are I won't see family in the club because they all know what I do and don't come in there.
Re: This is not hostile, but an honest question...
I actually don't think the strip club is that bad. Very rarely do I have to dance for someone I'm repulsed by. I love when my regulars come in and I can just shoot the shit with them and then get their money :) The money can be kind of slow but some nights are really good and you definitely can't beat the cash. Plus dancing honestly isn't that hard. Girls go to the clubs and do it for free. I'm just getting paid to do it naked. I'd much rather dance for one night for $800 (that is only on really good nights lately) then stuff my lady parts for 7 hours for the same $800.
Not to mention I feel so much more attractive/confident at the club. When I walk around its all eyes on me. Online, yeaaa not so much. Everyday someone is calling me ugly or has something nasty to say since they all have balls when they are behind a computer screen. I get a lot of the "your so hot" or whatever online too but you definitely remember the negative comments way more than the positive ones. At the strip club I don't think I've ever been called ugly in the year 1/2 I have danced.
Re: This is not hostile, but an honest question...
I'm a stripper trying to get into camming, and for me, camming is a lot harder. It's easy to find a guy in a strip club, flirt with him, dance, and make money. With camming, you have to sell in a different way, and you have to do more than just dance. It also seems to take longer to make the same amount of money camming than stripping, but that's just my experience. I have the same level of discomfort around grabby guys as I do being live on camera playing with myself. I don't think one medium is necessarily better or worse than the other...
Plus, when I'm at the club, I *do* feel like I'm in control. I mean maybe my club just has really good security, but those kind of repulsive grabby perverts aren't very common.
Re: This is not hostile, but an honest question...
Stripping - Cash money right there that night. With potential to make more.
Don't get me wrong, camming CAN be a great way to make money, but I get impatient and I hate waiting for my checks or DD.
Camming can be just as bad with assholes, yeah, you don't have to worry about them grabbing you, but guys are so much more rude when they're sitting behind their computer screen.
In the club, for the most part, you can tell the guy to stop touching you and he will. Of course, there is that guy every now and then who you might have to kick in the face....
(and to be honest, I'd rather have some guy try to grab my tit then to demand that I attempt to shove a potato up my ass or something) LOL (not that I've had that happen, but I've had some really strange requests when I was camming...to the point where I got kinda freaked out!)
Re: This is not hostile, but an honest question...
Ha, I'm in the opposite situation as kaiarose. I used to dance and I quit because my boyfriend isn't cool with it, but he's fine with me doing webcam. I guess it's because I don't touch the guys?
I miss dancing in a lot of ways, honestly. I miss the social aspects of it, and the relative privacy - I have anxiety about how exposed I am on the internet. Also, it was easier for me to make money at a strip club. I feel like I'm working a lot harder for every dollar I make doing webcam. But it beats a regular job, for sure!
Re: This is not hostile, but an honest question...
Yea.. I just came to a realization one day (i do cam Full time)
i that it wasn't worth it camming (full time) anymore
I had dildo'd myself to the point of bleeding almost 7 hours straight , for 200 bucks.
I was LITERALLY bleeding.
I had also gained weight due to setting on the computer for hours straight.
Dont get me wrong , Camming's a blessing , But now when you DEPEND on it.
Some nights you barley can make 10 bucks.
The men are RUDE as FUCK!
Calling you "fat, ugly, whore, slut, bitch"
Not the mention the CONSTANT fucking
begging!
Show me your tits now whore or
ill find you and cut your throat!
My pvt videos are ALLLLL over the internet!
Im 99% sure ill never be able to have a
"straight" job again , because if someone
finds thoughs vids , its over.
I had virtually NO friends , None at ALL!
I was stuck in the house 24/7
Not to mention the risk of security breaches ,
and having all your information (Address , SS, Whole name)
Leaked to the world.
Risk of getting a stalker who wants love beings
most cam company advertise us as dating websites
(especially the big ones)
And the company's (Like streamate) who resell your videos , and dont
pay you for it , Or even inform you.. And by videos , I mean
your pvt chats. =/
Haha , You can tell ^^
I hit a burn out!
I will still cam , But never will depend on the shit
full time again, Im NOT that patent.
Re: This is not hostile, but an honest question...
Well thank you for the feedback. I guess it depends on the network as far as earnings, the way guys do or do not treat you and the risk of security, etc. I personally still would NEVER dance live again, but to each their own :) It's good to hear both sides.
Thank you!
