Do you have reviews? If you are expecting not even 4 clients a year then go for it. Without reviews that is all you will see and that is if you are lucky.
To answer the main question: I would not do it. Get with an agency, make you money.. and use that money to go independent. You will only cause trouble if you did both and they found out.
It depends on the agency. With my first agency, they would have killed me if I'd done that. But after I learned everything I needed to learn, I left, went indy, then got contacted by another agency. I worked with the second one, off and on, with the understanding that I would still work as an independent and they'd only get a cut from the clients they brought me. And that worked out. I'd recommend what TG said: work with the agency, save up, learn what you can, then go indy.
I don't expect your agency will be happy. When you meet men who are interested in becoming regulars just give themyour direct number after you've met them once via the agency. So any further money is all yours.
Regarding your rate. Consider me niaeve but I had no idea many providers charged that high per hour. What is demand like at that price point . And how many bookings do you expect to have a month ? I'm not criticising your rates . Just wondering what your expectations are.
You can definitely get that rate and higher, but it depends on where you live.
If you have never been there of course you will not understand.Quote:

A lot of men prefer to see ladies with high rates because they do not want someone that has been around the block and back. They want the feeling that they're being catered to and feel that ladies that are higher end have less volume which is true.
I don't expect someone that is used to charging $150 an hour to understand why men will pay $400 an hour or more. They are used to a certain group of men and cater to a different market. Here's a secret: When you charger higher than the norm in your city you attract better, more respectful, classier men. :)
However, I will say this the lady that charges $250 an hour is making much more money than the lady that charges $1,000 an hour. It seems the OP is not looking for volume. If she is looking for volume then she's not going about it the right way.
well my rates aren't cheap, i definitely don't charge 150 an hour. So i understand an upscale market. and I consider my clients to be upstanding gentlemen. but at 1000 + i only thought porn stars and magazine models can charge those rates and still have their phones ring regularly. I know that someone will call eventually... what i was really questioning was if it was a sensible business practice.
Its just that the OP seemed so eager in her post I was wondering if the OP understood that her phone may not necessarily ring that much despite her good looks.
is it standard practice for agencies to keep 40% ?
No. I know a lot of ladies in the industry that charge 1000 an hour. However, Just because they are charging it doesn't mean they are getting it. Right?? I wasn't trying to argue that because I know it is possible. However, what I was saying was if you have never charged that amount you will never know because you're not in the market (myself included). I am very mid-range and cater to upscale clientele but I believe that If I were to start charging more i'd see less but get even better clients. However, right now I want that volume. A girl that charged $1000 a year without pornstar credentials would be lucky to make even 5k a month. A lot of ladies see those figures ($1000 an hour) and think oooh I want to do that but it's really the other way around. Those women don't really want that much money. Most of them have other businesses/jobs and escorting is something they do on the side.
