new tattoo
I am really wanting a new tattoo and I was thinking of getting it on my left foot. I was wanting a kind of leafy flower-y jungle thing with 2 panther eyes looking out. my tattoo on my left ankle is panther tracks with the kanji for panther. but a friend of mine said that that would be too much on my ankles and feet and not look good. Would this be true? I know some people are real tattoo people and like lots of tattoos. I like mine to look feminine and pretty not be like a whole sleeve and such. Oh and I like to be able to look at my tattoos so I don't want any on my back or behind my ears. If it would be too much on my foot I was thinking maybe a rib cage tattoo but I don't know what and it might be too much....
Anyways, just looking for opinions and ideas.
What I have now:

Re: new tattoo
i dont think having a complementary tattoo on your other ankle would be too much. also the ankle is a good spot because if you need to hide them it is easy to do so.
rib cage tattoos are hot... although i hear they are painful. ive seen a lot of flowers done on rib cages in ways to complement the female figure. so if you are going for something floral it should be easy to get something super girly and flattering.
here is a couple examples courtesy of google images :

i think that in order for it to be flattering the female form it needs to be curved... it does a good job of making the back look arched. when it isnt curved properly it looks a lot less flattering... like this example here: http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...hQ_qxbdTU1v_YP

Re: new tattoo
i like that second tree a lot

Re: new tattoo
the second tree as in the third picture i posted? i like the tree itself but i think that the artist could have done a better job putting it on her body to flatter her curves. i personally think that side tattoos are best when they go with the arch of the back.... i dont like them as much when they are in a block that doesnt follow the curve.
the first tree i posted (2nd picture) is pretty crappily done but i think is better at flattering the arch on her back than the second tree.
either way, if you get a rib tattoo, make sure you get an awesome artist because it is a noticeable spot to have it done. on your ankle if its a little bit crappier its not as prominent... but the rib cage is super noticeable esp in strip clubs. hopefully desuvsdeath or avery or someone else will see this because they are more tat knowledgeable than i am. actually i would contact desuvsdeath because i know she has spent time in colorado and she seems to be pretty knowleagable on good tattoo artists.

Re: new tattoo
2nd pict first tree lol
I hope another tatted girl sees this too. The prominence of the rib cage is why im so iffy about it and am thinking someplace like the foot-to-ankle since if it's kinda messed up not too big a deal, I think.

Re: new tattoo
yea...a good artist is very important. im sure denver has some awesome tattoo artists though. its an artsy town in general and there are a lot of alternative types there who are tatted up. I am sure that if you want a ribcage tattoo that you will be able to find an artist there who can do an excellent job.
also for some reason i think that angelking is a tattoo artist so i would message him as well. and i know there are a couple of other girls on here who are piercers/tattoo artists but i cant remember who :(. i would try searching through old threads?
also there are forums for body modification... you could probably get some good artist recommendations as well as pictures for ideas on them. this site also has a lot of pics: http://www.bme.com/. i think you need to submit a pic to see them if i remember correctly. i used to know more about tattoos back when i was a lot more alternative and thought that i would end up being covered head to toe in tattoos within a few yrs, go figure stripping has made me postpone that :(.

Re: new tattoo
I was thinking something like this, but more jungle-flower-y and with panther eye, not such a soft cat-eye, on my left foot curling towards ankle, but if on my rib-cage, idk...

Re: new tattoo
I have a floral piece on my rib cage and Athena is right in saying that it really does need to flow with your curves to look good. Mine does, and I get TONS of compliments on it at work, even from guys who say they aren't normally fans of tattoos. With the help of a good artist, your tattoo design could totally translate into a side piece - it just depends which you want more. Personally, I think a small side piece looks out of place and that you really need to go big or go home with it. This can be costly, painful, and impossible to hide in the club. If done right, it can look amazing though.
