stage divers taking over
So my club has never really had stage divers before. Some pussy and boobies in the face, nothing too extreme. I come back from a couple months away, and now all of a sudden girls are diving onto guys' laps and giving mini lap dances and shaking their asses in the customer's face. Arrgghh!! And for a couple dollars too-the guys aren't making it rain but it just makes them expect more for their money. So I feel to keep up I should start learning to do this crap. :( it is just so irritating.

Re: stage divers taking over
I have seen that and the girls never are making much money... gosh they ruin it for the good girls...
-
Re: stage divers taking over
Argghhh, I never know what to do when I go after someone who does this. I'll take the dollar(s) and kindof look at them and try to non-verbally apologize for not doing the same thing and hope to god that they don't feel like I have just completely ripped them off. lol =p

Re: stage divers taking over
If you don't want to do it, don't.
Learn to make money in your own way.
-
Re: stage divers taking over
^ Agreed. The second you try to start selling the exact same product, it will probably make it more difficult for you to sell.
If I were you, I'd try to keep your spirits up by literally laughing when you see stuff like that going on. I used to talk shit about those girls inside my head while I was laughing (so I looked apparently bemused, even though I was thinking WTF.)

Re: stage divers taking over
After 14 years in this business, it amazes what newbies are willing to do for very little money. It saddens me a bit to think how little self respect these girls must have and, at the same time, gives me a sense of gratitude that I don't have to compete with that anymore.
As a housemom I try to teach my girls how to make money with there personalities!
-
Re: stage divers taking over
No, don't do it. Really? For what a dollar? Maybe 2? Come on now!
-
Re: stage divers taking over
When I saw the title I thought ... hmm customer diving for his money or customer getting so turned on that he dove at a girl on stage. But what girls diving off the stage onto a guy? LAME! Classy dance turns to trashy one .
-
Re: stage divers taking over
I always figured that stage diving was a technique for selling private dances later - a kind of investment. Yeah, they're working hard for that dollar or two, but the idea is that people pay attention (even the ones who are not sitting at the stage) and will want to get a dance from her.
Now, I don't do these tricks, but that's because I don't know how, am kind of clumsy, and would probably either break someone's nose or poke an eye out with my heel. Although, I have gone up after these girls - every night, actually- and it hasn't really affected my money. I just do my little dance for the stage seats and hold my garter open for a tip like usual, and they seem happy enough. Every once in a while when I'm sitting with a customer trying to sell a dance, a girl will do some crazy stage diving move and the guy will ask me "Do you do that?" Kind of annoying, but also a good way to let me know not to keep wasting my time with that particular custy.
Just keep doing your thing and make your money. You have your hustle, they have theirs.

Re: stage divers taking over
No way! Don't do that shit.
Girls at my club pull all sort of crap like that on stage for a couple of measly bucks - more power to them. I will pass...
In the end, that doesn't attract the guys I bank off of, so I don't do it.
-
Re: stage divers taking over
In my experience, the stage divers are usually the ones with the least entertaining stage show. As a customer , it's kind of boring to watch the girl go down the line of guys sticking her tits/etc. in his face/etc. (thank you here's some tit's...next!). I see girls who do great stage shows get tipped just as well, so I dunno. I assume they're making up for their lack of performance, maybe they just don't know "what to do" on stage and stage diving is a pretty easy option. Right now their are alot of new girls, and starting to get a bit out of hand, we're due for a "meeting."
-
Re: stage divers taking over
I make ok money on stage-my club is NOT a stage club. It's just I don't like the expectations that stage diving places. Customers start EXPECTING that kind of shit for a measly dollar. I don't think I will do it and will just keep it classy like always.
As for it being an investment-not so much. I think looking sexy on stage, showcasing some of your better features, is a better investments than diving into guy after guy's lap.

what? this is terrible logic. yea, it grabs attention but not the kind you want. if people see girls doing this for a dollar, then it also flips the logical switch that they can get that for a $ vs. spending 40$ to get a lap dance. also if a customer gets a stage dive for 1$ then they will expect a lot more for 40$. and trust me.. a lot of customers DO take note of how much contact goes on on the stage and opt to just tip a dollar a song instead of spending a lot of money... the girls stage diving for a dollar are shooting themselves in the foot. and they are also causing trouble for the lighter contact dancers.
i see you work in nola.. .depending on what club you are at, the girls tend to do a lot more on stage than is normal elsewhere.

Re: stage divers taking over
aside from everything else, when I'm on stage [b]I am on stage[/i] and anyone else going on and interrupting my stage is annoying. I go, take the money, give them a kiss on the cheek and then kick them off. Sometimes they get all "what the fuck why didn't I get MORE!" but whatever. They don't get dances anyway.
edit.
like, no one who has ever spent more than 20$ on me in LDs has ever done a stage dive.

Most at the girls at the clubs I've worked at do this, and I thought it was standard industry practice. I've only recently seen all the posts from SW dancers who get offended by the whole thing.
I get your point as far as actually making it harder to sell private dances. I don't do those tricks, and have never had a problem selling dances. I always figured it was working for the stage diving girls, though, because why else would they do it?
Anyway, not doing it in an atmosphere where stage diving is the norm hasn't really interfered with my money, and I'm hoping it won't interfere with the OP's either.

they do the stage dive because they are stupid and dont think things through. a lot of girls feel obligated to give a guy more for his money. wrong way of thinking in this biz.
i went back and looked at your other posts.. you said you have only been dancing for 3 months. you think it doesnt affect your money but you are wrong. i make good money and i sell a shitload of dances, but girls doing a lot for a little does in fact affect my income. it might not be obvious directly, but it adds up. the occasional customer who wont buy a dance because he can get ___ for ___. the customer who asks if thats all he gets. the customer who is extra grabby because the girl before him did not have boundaries or was too insecure to enforce them. it adds up wtih customers spending less and you being mentally worn down which will affect your hustle. give it a couple of yrs, you will also find yourself fighting the burnout.
also, obviously the aforementioned is not specifically about stage diving. its the whole principle of girls doing a lot for a little. doing a stage dive for a dollar is a lot for a little. this is one of the main things that is killing our industry.

Re: stage divers taking over
for the record....this is my honest to god opinion and i am kinda scared to post this but .... voila. some stage divers are boring and dirty....but some of us (yes i am including myself in this oh the shame....) are turning this apparent evil into a way to show case personality...read on and you will see what i mean...
i, too, work in nola.....and this i where i started too....and i am with natalia, it seemed that this was what you were supposed to do. boobies in the face, "diving" ...i do it :O
in my defense, i was taught this by a vet who was helping me with my stage show... i feel like in nola it's almost a shock value, we get people in off the street that rarely visit the SC and then holy shit there they are the boobs etc IN YO FACE.
......but to be clear....when i dive, i will not do it to everyone. i am very selective to the men i dive for, usually it is my "favorite" ....and most of you prob won't believe this but it does make me more money....not as in on stage but later....
let me explain...someone had mentioned that the personality is the thing that gets a girl money....well when i do these stage "tricks" i use it as a way to tease people and make them laugh and relax a little bit....and it can also be a great way to make men jealous and "stake their claim"
i.e. a group of guys in the club....either the one who is the most enthusiastic gets it.....or the one who is the least....it always gets the others jealous. and do it to a woman?? the stage suddenly "sprinkles" .... (because lets be honest it never actually ever rains these days.....)
boobies in the face, schmoobies in the face....that's just fun. i like my boobs so i want to share the boobie love :)
i dunno, some people will prob hate me for posting this but i just don't think it's that big of a deal. but like i said, i entered as a newb in the past 7 months and i do this in nola where it is very common....and i am strategical with it. its not my fall back to make 10 dollars....whatever. its just a way to build a report with the audience and let them know "this is fun yall!" i don't think it should affect another dancer's money if she has her hustle down. it might be diff elsewhere, but i don't anticipate quiting it anytime soon bc what i do works for me.
sorry for partying ;D

Re: stage divers taking over
Heres the thing.. it eventually creates an unfair playing field. We are all willing to take off our clothes for money, but you will get a few girls who take it to the next level and then customers will eventually start to expect that. Then a delimma is created--you have guys who originally were content wth just seeing girls naked demanding much more, and really whos to blame them? .
It starts with something like stage diving and then it keeps evolving because the girls doing these things aren't thinking of the long-term consequences. That is exactly what happend in Guam--and let me tell you, it SUCKS.

I don't think it'd accurately sum up ANY of my personality at all.

Re: stage divers taking over
I think what Sammi is trying to say is that this is the norm at her club, and having worked in new orleans I can say it is. It is also the norm at most clubs here in Dallas. Many customers these days go into a strip club expecting high contact. They expect grinding and boobie touching. So if they do not see a girl allowing this on stage they will assume she does not allow this in a dance. You can have sales skills up the wazoo but if the custie thinks you are a prude ( in their mind) they are not going to buy. Having said that I think this applies to high contact areas only.
-
Re: stage divers taking over
I agree with the perspective that it's bad for the industry overall (more for less mentality) and that if all girls do this, some will push the boundaries even further in order to stand out.
What I disagree with is the idea that stage divers have no self-respect. Ok, I've noticed that grosser girls are the ones who do it, but once we start to identify girls who increase the sexuality of their behavior in an attempt to increase their income as lacking self-respect, it's a slippery slope that damns the entire industry.
To me, this is bad on a business level, not a character level. No slut shaming for me please.

Re: stage divers taking over
No, do what you feel comfortable doing. Anyway you wanna be different.
Go girl!

Re: stage divers taking over
I think a lot of what guys like (or like to think anyway) is that you are giving them all of the attention and they are special. When a girl stage dives and goes to one guy after another it just emphasizes the fact that none of them are really special and she's going to do that to any guy who will come in. Obviously when you are on stage everyone can see you, but I think what makes it worth it for the guys to buy LD's and private shows is the fact that its private and they are getting all of the attention.
So, to me anyway, I think being only on the stage is good to advertise yourself. Then flirting with guys from the stage (eye contact, smiling, dancing right in front of them) will make them want to get a LD or private show from you because they want to see how you are privately with them and they want to be the only guy (at that moment) you're giving your attention to.
I also think everyones personality comes out when they're on stage and its what attracts guys even more. If you're smiling or making a seductive expression to the guys from the stage it shows your either bubbly or just plain sexy! Then when they see that they want MORE from you and want to see how you are in private with them, so they pay to have that time with you!
Give them a taste of your sexiness on stage so they want more from you (as in contact/privacy not 'extras') in LD's and private shows! ;)

sorry for partying ;D
first off, boobs in face is standard, that is not what is being criticized here.
second off, if you have only been working 7 months in one location, you are still in fact a newbie.
third off, i usually come out one of the top earners when i work here. there is a 90% chance that i out earn you. actually since you are a newbie, i would say there is a >95% chance that i outearn you. so what i am telling you is from the perspective of a clean dancer who out earns most other girls.
so when it comes to jumping off the stage and dancing in a customers lap or doing the hand stands and putting your pussy (covered in thong) in a guys face or ass in close enough proximity that if he stuck his tongue out he would be licking things that should not even be allowed in the champagne room, you are selling yourself short. you might think that you are 'showcasing' your personality, but in reality you are showcasing your lack of boundaries.
you are right about 2 things here: 1. the shock value factor in new orleans and 2. the fact that most customers here do NOT frequent SCs. ok, you know these two things but you miss the way these two things are notably tied together-- since the customers are NOT used to titty bars, it does NOT take a lot to shock them. you do not need to jump off of the stage and grind on them for 30 seconds or stick your clothed pussy in their face to shock them. a lot of these guys have not been to SCs since the early 90s, when air dances were the norm. boobs in face is sufficient. need attention? do a wild pole trick. most of the girls here can do pole tricks. most of the girls fail to get tips from their pole tricks simply because they suck at basic personal interaction... doing a pole trick or two to show you are a performer and making eye contact with customers and acknowledging their existence is enough to make a lot in stage tips in this city .
also, if you are doing any sort of trick that puts your pussy in a guys face... and by your pussy in a guys face i mean your pussy (covered in thong unless you are a straight up extras girl) makes physical contact iwth a guys face, you are doing something that a lot of dancers wont even do in the CR. i sell A LOT of champagne in this city, and i sell a LOT of repeat champagne rooms, and i NEVER make contact with my thong, butt cheeks, pussy, with a guys face. in the CRs they can touch my boobs and that is pretty standard... but touching a guys face with your pussy or letting him touch your pussy (even over a thong) is pretty universally considered a dirty move.
so congrats, keep selling yourself short and keep thinking it makes you more money... but you ARE wrong. you are still a n00b and obviously a short sighted one at that. and you dont think it affects the rest of us? i used to work at hustler club until about a yr ago, and my most dreaded part of the night (other than expecting them to run a credit card for a CR efficiently) was going on stage. i made good stage money, but the girls gave so much for so little on stage that i would feel like i was constantly dodging hands or telling customers to go fuck themselves because i was not gonna ____ that other girls did before me. i sold a shit ton of dances there, but going on stage always brought a knot to my stomach.
also, the clean industry norm is to keep half your body on stage. if only your hand is on stage, you are not on the stage.
but yea, keep enjoying doing what you do for a few dollars while i do it for a lot of dollars.

They do it for attention!
These girls want to get noticed and to some people some attention is better than no attention at all.
These girls are also under the misconception that it will make them more money. At my club, sometimes it does, but usually not so much.
As much as stage diving is an attraction for some customers, it may also be a turnoff. The key is to find a balance between the two so that you're not looked upon by your fellow dancers as a classless hooch.
My advice is, act as if you are being videotaped onstage. What would you like to see in the playback? Stage diving is not on my list...
