Girls at my club are selling hours for 120$
like, a lot of them. When a guy asked if I would do it I told him I would rather sell no dances for an hour (it's a dance only club... no CRs) than undercut myself by more than 50%.
It explains why they're busy all the time like that. However, at the same club, on the same night, I will be as busy as them. Except that I go home with 900$ instead of 400$ or 500$.
I told my boyfriend and he called them "discount girls". I guess that makes me and about three other girls "premium girls" }:D
I don't mind if girls do "sales" but that's pretty ridiculous. I'll stick to making 120$ in 15 - 20 minutes, thank you very much!

Re: Girls at my club are selling hours for 120$
You are smart. Those girls are not going to last long as a stripper if they discount dances. Confidence is everything in this business. If you think you are worth less, the custy will agree and you will be paid less for doing more than the confident girls. Fake it til you make it. If those girls are willing to allow themselves to be crushed at the bottom instead of fighting their way to the top; that is their problem. Stripping is a sales job. You have to be smart to be in sales. Why strive for the worst when you can strive for the best? I can't tell you how many times I have seen the least physcically attractive girls in the club make the most $$$. It's because they are smart and confident. They know how to sell.
You should tell a manager because that cuts into the clubs money too.

Re: Girls at my club are selling hours for 120$
Entertainers do have the right in most clubs to change their prices, that is part of being an independent contractor, however I do think you should discuss this with the manager. The club should be encouraging the girls to make good money, & if they are slashing their prices by half their must be a reason. The manager needs to get to the bottom of it & figure out why these entertainers are wanting to "cut their own throats" so to speak.
- Can they not sell enough regular dances?
Maybe the general area needs to be spruced up so they use it more. Or maybe the regular dances are over-priced for the area & the club needs to re-consider the price advertised.
- Is there a big advantage to them being in the CR over the regular dance area?
If they don't like being called to stage from the regular dance area then the club might need a system to know who is available for stages.
- Can they provide extras in the CRs?
If so the club could have cameras put in or bouncers start checking in more, which would cause giving extras to not be so easy... in which case the CRs will seem less appealing
If an entertainer is going to be changing her prices it is more advantageous generally to up-sell than to offer a discount. The manager may want to have a meeting with everyone to discuss this or even change any signage in the club to say something along the lines of "Dances $20 MINIMUM"... a constant reminder that the entertainers can & WILL charge more. Suddenly the minimum price will seem like a better deal for the customers & they will be none the wiser.

Re: Girls at my club are selling hours for 120$
It really is a shame that they are doing that. I would rather be a premium dancer than discount dancer. Those girls are going to hurt the club in the long run if they continue to do that.
-
Re: Girls at my club are selling hours for 120$
I usually sellmine at 150 per hour plus the clubs fees.
-
Re: Girls at my club are selling hours for 120$
It's always funny to me when girls cut their prices down so low that you can make in 3 dances what they make in 30 minutes or more.
Like... can they not do math? Are they stupid? WTF. LOL
-
Re: Girls at my club are selling hours for 120$
Damn...thats only 60 bucks if the club takes half..
-
Re: Girls at my club are selling hours for 120$
That makes me sick. It could fuck up your money.

Re: Girls at my club are selling hours for 120$
When girls start discounting dances it's the same as EXTRAS - giving more for less, and it will contribute to bringing our value and wages down.>:(
Which club/city was this? In Toronto I constantly saw girls discounting dances, wereas when I worked in Europe the dancers would charge the standard rate as the minimum. I saw this all the time at Filmores but there's nothing you can do about it. It also encourages cheap/poor men to visit the clubs. I started getting many men asking for a deal and complaining about the high prices.
Also dancers want to appear popular to other customers so they don't mind doing 2 for 1 etc. and dancing for longer periods of time. Plus they also want to show the other dancers that they are popular with the custys and making money etc.

Re: Girls at my club are selling hours for 120$
^You just have to explain to the customers that she discounts because her dances are ONLY WORTH that much. Yours, however, are good enough to warrant full price. ;D

Re: Girls at my club are selling hours for 120$
I could give you a discount but then I would be giving you a shitty dance.

I brought it up with the DJ and there is actually nothing wrong with them doing it. At our club you pay a house fee but keep all the money that you make from dances. So you CAN set your own prices but everyone knows that the price is 20$ /song.

Well, there are a bunch of us who sell dances for normal price and we make good money and are in the back for the same amount of time as THEM. So it's not the club. And they're pretty hot so I don't know what their deal is.

There are no CRs... it's a purely LD club. Even if we're in the back, we still get called to stage (which sucks but whatever).

nope, VIP is very open and very well lit. We can all see what is going on.

I think that they just think it's a better deal, to do these hour blocks. I don't even pretend to understand.

exactly. We're not talking about high class escorts vs. street hookers (I hate saying that but I don't know what other term to use. I'm not judging anyone - just trying to make the following point...) Services rendered between dancers are the same, just at a lower price point when these girls undercut like this. It's not like they are giving shitty dances when they're back there with guys for that long. Or just sitting. They're doing the same work that the 'full price girls' are doing but making much less. And regardless of whether or not they want to seem more popular, they are fucking up their money in such a huge way.
like, imagine making 900$. If only 5 more dances were sold then the girl would have broken a G. That's what, 20 minutes at regular price but a WHOLE HOUR at this discount rate. And the only way to even REACH 900$ at those hours would be to be fully busy for a whole 8 hour shift (with stage, bathroom breaks etc).

why do you know/care what everyone else makes?
I have no problem saying that I keep track of what people are making as a way of motivating myself to work harder. I don't care how much they make. I just see it as money / time that I could be in there too. It motivates me to see other girls in VIP. Knowing that girls are making money pushes me to make money.
what I do CARE about is that, as other people in the thread have pointed out, it brings down the quality of customer, the expectations of the club / dancers and our value / worth within the industry.

When it's a smaller club with not that many customers and girls, it's hard not to notice. It's pretty suspicious when the same few girls are in VIP for long chunks of time, then the guy that they were with starts requesting deals. ::) It's not good for the club, and it can start to fuck up the money of other dancers that actually have self-worth.

Are you fucking serious? I have never sold an hour for less than $400. Not once in almost a decade. When girls start discounting, it lowers the "worth" and "value" of every other girl at the club and drags business into the mud.
Girls like in the OPs post are just asking for it to turn into an extras club.

wow just wow, in my club its an absolute minimum of £400 or $650 an hour and you would have to get special permission from the house mum and she would only accept it if they didn't have any other money and we had totaly emptied their wallets! te going rate is £450 and girls usualy charge more.

Re: Girls at my club are selling hours for 120$
Ugh that sucks Sadie! Srsly. I know girls at Fillys who did hours for 150. I was always like WTF? If they have the money you should be able to talk them into spending on you for 8 dances NOT an hour block of your time.
And as much as you can try and say to other customers "She charges that much because she's only worth that much" the custys will turn around and say "I don't think so, I'm going with her because she's cheaper". It's frustrating and irritating.
The most I've been paid for an hour (without tip) was $360 I negotiated before I knew the clubs rate was $300/hour. We're not permitted to upsell our prices or ask for tips, but we're not allowed to go under that number either, so I like that.
Sadie, just try and ignore them and keep making your money! You're so close to having that debt paid off girl!!!

LOL That is a great line!!
It is a shame when girls are more interested in quickly making a few bucks then actually putting forth the effort to make the big bucks. I've seen that a lot over the years. Girls who give 2 for 1 all the time, or girls who slash their prices in VIP. Don't get me wrong...if $120 is all your club charges for an hr then by all means charge $120. But if your club rates are well over that, then why not make every last dollar you can. Give small discounts if that's what it takes on that night with that guy. But don't start the bidding with the lowest price possible.
-
Re: Girls at my club are selling hours for 120$
There are always going to be girls who give discounts... but take the above mentioned club. Say dance prices are average - $20 a song. That means this girl is doing an hour's worth of dancing... and getting $$ for 18 minutes of it. THAT'S ABSURD! 3 songs for the price of 1?!? That's just stupid!!
I used to work in a club where dances were 3.5 minutes and $20. Girls used to sell 10 minutes for $50... and guys were all over that GREAT DEAL! Only... 3.5 minute songs, plus dj talk time inbetween girls (we'll say it's a chatty guy so 30 seconds) means that $60 would've bought 12 minutes... 60/12 = $5 a minute.... 50/10 = $5 a minute... and guys weren't even getting a deal.
Somehow... none of them were ever smart enough to figure that one out.
I don't get how some girls are so dumb. You literally don't have to offer a good deal. You can just make normal price SOUND like a deal... so why the fuck would you offer to do 2 free songs for every 1 you get paid for?
-
Re: Girls at my club are selling hours for 120$
^^ Desu, I used to do something similar. When negotiating a VIP room, I would say something along the lines of "Well, it's usually $600 an hour... but I really like you and would rather spend time with you than anyone else, so I'll only charge you $500". My real price at this club was, in fact, $500 an hour; but I got SO many suckers this way it was unreal.
-
Re: Girls at my club are selling hours for 120$
I wouldnt be able to stand working in a place like that. Knowing how many times I will hear some whiney little cheap ass bitch customer saying, "But but but, so & so gave me this for that little". That shit would drive me insane if I had to hear it every time!
-
Re: Girls at my club are selling hours for 120$
I'm actually not losing money regardless of the girls doing this discount. If anything, I'm making money since they're off the floor for an hour at a time. So if there's only a few guys, those girls being off the floor makes a huge difference.
I would never put their dances down. The VIP is really small and guys would be able to tell if I was saying that they were giving air-dances. I normally just say that "I would rather not make any money than do a 'deal' that bad for me". I regularly walk away from customers if they start saying "sell yourself to me". My attitude and hustle is that I'm worth guys going with me because I'm just that great and it works really well for me.
