Amateur Night
Hi! I need to make some cash to pay my rent on the first and there is an Amateur night in my town on the 27th... soon! I've never stripped, but I love dancing and I always get on stage in clubs, etc. I was hoping some of you could tell me just what to do once I get on stage... just dance with the pole? Dance alone? Shake it? I was thinking I would go into the strip club a few times before I go and watch the girls to see what they do. I'm a little nervous, but also excited. Tips? Pointers? HELP!

Re: Amateur Night
There are lots of threads on amateur nights! Search for these in the upper right of your screen. Are they letting all amateurs stay and sell dances ? I have never done one of these because I think they are silly and that it almost is a "mean" way to treat dancers ( with rankings and such ) . I think a better approach is to simply start dancing at the club ..... but of course if it's like a $500 prize .... well .... that would be pretty awesome.
It's the 19th now , so if you just worked a few nights at the club between now and the 27th, you'll could probably make whatever the prize money is by then!

Re: Amateur Night
im in a similar situation where ive never worked in a strip club before, cept im after an audition instead of amateur night. def go check out the club and the girls there, but also do sum youtube searches. u can find vids where dancers take it slower than usual so u can pick up the moves. and the most important thing is PRACTICE! u dont wanna go up on stage and have your mind go blank coz u havnt thought abt what your gonna do!

Re: Amateur Night
Thanks for the advice! I will definitely youtube some videos. I live in Montana and this is one of the only strip clubs around, but I have no clue how much the girls make... I'm worried I will get up there and make $20... not enough for rent! :-\

Re: Amateur Night
Be aware that due to the economy I have tried to come up with quick money by doing am amateur night (I'm an experienced dancer and that's not uncommon). Every single time I've tried this, probably 3 or 4 total, they make you wait 2 hours and then say they don't have enough girls to do the contest but you're welcome to audition.
If you're ok with stripping and need some quick money, just audition and go strip a few nights. You'll probably make more. Hope this helps. :)

Re: Amateur Night
Yeah I would be really wary about relying on an amateur night to make rent. Both clubs that I've worked at that had an amateur night, there would be tons of proper strippers from other clubs in town, and one or two actual amateurs, and the prize money would go to whoever was the most well known among the managers or the other dancers. I don't know if I ever saw an actual amateur win, unless she took a huge crowd with her to cheer and make it rain. And neither club let the entrants work that night or sell dances either. I'm not sure how it is at the club you're wanting to do it at, but I'd find out before you place your chances on making rent on it hun.

Re: Amateur Night
To provide a slight counter perspective -
A club I worked at had an amateur night and there were only a few contestants,to swell the ranks some of the "newer" girls dancing at the club were told to go on stage. A true amateur won the $500. So go ahead, show up, do the amateur night. If you win, awesome! If you don't win now you have an idea of whether you would be interested in working at that club full time.

Re: Amateur Night
^^Exactly, what Miss_Mckenna said. I work at a club that has a weekly amateur night, in fact, you have to do it to get hired. Tons of dancers from other clubs come in and bring a crowd with them. (I love working on that night b/c it's packed and the girls in the amateur contest can't sell lap dances so it doesn't hurt my money.) I don't think I've ever seen an actual amateur win. You might be better off just auditioning for a job and working a few nights to make your rent. 8)
