The swagger thread-strut your stuff!!
I freely admit to bragging at work--and why not? I am damn good at what I do! I have been dancing since most of my co-workers were in diapers (1988, if you must know!). I give the sexiest, most sensual dance you can imagine, and I can do it CLEAN and LEGAL, and still leave you needing a cigarette when I am done with you.
It has happened now not just once but a bunch of times that I have been saying something like that just as the jukebox cut off to change music, and everyone heard me. Apparently the other girls don't like hearing me say "I'm the best damn dancer in this place--hands down!" because you should see the LOOKS they give me! :O
Other gems I have inadvertently shouted across the bar include:
"Nobody gives a backrub like I can!"
" 'Frequently imitated, never duplicated'--that's me!"
" My dances come with a money-back guarantee!"
"I'm not concieted, honey, I'm convinced! "
So apparently it is not nice to brag at work. SO lets brag here--we're among friends! ;)
I'll start:
I was the top earner again tonight--I know this because I was the only one getting dances except for the extras girls, and I don't count them.
I was also, by almost any standard I could imagine, the hottest dancer in that bar tonight. (not saying much, but oh well. I'll take what I can get!]
Who's next?
Re: The swagger thread-strut your stuff!!
I don't have anything to add yet, but reading this is motivating before going to work. :)
Re: The swagger thread-strut your stuff!!
For the past 3-4 shifts, I have been in the top three, and for one shift I can confidently say...
I WAS #1!!
And I do the same thing Colleen does when trying to sell dances. I will say some of those lines exactly lol
" My dances come with a money-back guarantee!"
"I'm not concieted, honey, I'm convinced! "
I've used these more than once to sell a dance.
Re: The swagger thread-strut your stuff!!
I could never use that "I'm the shit" hustle. it comes off so fake when I do it. I like who I am as a person but I feel silly saying things like "I'm the best dancer here". when a guy says "you're gorgeous!" sometimes I'll giggle and be like "yeah I know!" but I feel weird about coming off as cocky.
I feel like bragging about myself to customers is an open invitation for someone to knock me off my high horse. personally, a guy who's too cocky is a HUGE turnoff so I think a guy would be turned off by that :\
if it works for you though, great!!! :] wear that top earner title loud and proud!!!
Re: The swagger thread-strut your stuff!!
I think the key to swagger is subtlety. You know your the best. Own it. Don't rub it in other girls faces, or you'll just piss them off and make unnecessary enemie,s and if you use it as a hustle I suggest keeping it on the lighter side to avoid putting guys off. There are a few situations where being obnoxiously conceited works but not the majority.
Re: The swagger thread-strut your stuff!!
Being conceited about it is definitely not good. But if you're careful, you can pull it off. I do it both sexy and also lighter/jokingly, depending on who I'm hustling. I can't always do this, but like the thread "the anti-hustle", it has a time and place.
Re: The swagger thread-strut your stuff!!
"My dances are life changing."
"In a scale of 1 to 10, my dances are a 12."
I love being overly cocky to sell dances. ;D I'm not actually that conceited, but guys like it when you're playfully confident like that. And it makes them curious as to how good you actually are.
Re: The swagger thread-strut your stuff!!
Yeah, for some reason the cocky attitude doesn't work for me. I sound too fake, but I wish it did work cuz I really like that kinda hustle, y'know where the girl is like "yeah, I'm hot shit, I know it and you do too!"
Re: The swagger thread-strut your stuff!!
I tell them that I made a guy pass out mid-dance the other week. Then I casually say, 'Poor thing, I think I was a bit much for him.'
It actually did happen. (His friend later told me he was on back medication and wasn't supposed to drink.) Whether they believe me or not, it usually gets a laugh.
Re: The swagger thread-strut your stuff!!
I tell guys im the best only if they seem like the type that would respond to that. Last night I sold a dance to one guy by telling him I'm the best dancer and will give him the most amazing and incredible dance he ever had. It wasn't true - there are better dancers than me in that club, but it worked. To his friend though, I sold dances by telling him confidently that his night would be a million times better if he was upstairs with me.
Self assurance goes a long way. Besides, in my regular club I AM the best dancer (well, one of two anyway, depending what the guy likes)
But my brag to you girls is that I sell more VIPs than any other girl in my regular club, and I usually don't even have to take my clothes off!
Re: The swagger thread-strut your stuff!!
Today's brag is that I can turn around just about anything.
Friday I got to work late and my day was just going downhill fast. My timing was all off and I couldn't sell a dance to a shipfull of drunken sailors. So I went in te DR pissed, sat down, counted my 19 singles (no shit!) and was just about to get mad about going home with almost nothng and completely wasting my Saturday.
With 30 minutes left on my shift, I spied a customer who had just walked in. I turned on the charm and SNAGGED HIM! 90 minutes later I left with $100 and a new potential regular.
Damn I'm good!

An hour and a half later with $100? Awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You go girl!!!!! LOL
Re: The swagger thread-strut your stuff!!
Well I actually made the money in 30 minutes, but then I sensed an opportunity for future earnings as spent an hour schoozing.
For my next trick, I am going to reverse a barge midstream.
Re: The swagger thread-strut your stuff!!
Most guys I know hate it when women say stuff like that. If you're hot and you make money, guys will know it and pick up on it-you don't have to announce it. Saying stuff like that makes you sound kind of desperate and insecure. At the clubs I've worked at, it's usually the not so good looking girls who don't sell many dances who say stuff like that and the guys think it's kind of pathetic.
