When applying/auditioning/getting hired...?
Is it normal or mandatory for you to give out your social security number and provide proof of US citizenship? It just seems counterintuitive-- coming up with a different name/persona just to provide your actual, personal information.

Do you even need references? Like really?

SCs definitely need to have this kind of information, otherwise it would be too easy for minors and citizens of other countries to work illegally. Bring two forms of ID (preferably a license and a social security card, but a passport may work) and just go into the club. Call ahead to see when they audition new girls.
A driver's license and a copy of a birth certificate should work too, right?

I couldn't start working at my club without showing them my social security card and this club doesnt even require a license.

I've worked/work at 3 clubs, two of which are big chain clubs, and never been asked for anything other than my drivers license. But I understand more and more clubs are asking for this sort of info.

I was under the impression that this was more of the norm...

I'm all about clubs requiring these kind of documents, especially if they're trying to avoid having illegal aliens as dancers.
