Re: Obnoxious top earners
I left the small clubs from Virginia Beach where I was being one of the top earners and decided to go to Richmond where I wasn't a top earner anymore (extras are the norm in Richmond), but I was making decent money anyways.
The top earners in Richmond are a bunch of dirty cunts who give blow jobs in the champagne rooms.

Re: Obnoxious top earners
I think a lot of dancers tend to bullshit numbers.
when some fat hairy nasty buck-toothed bitch who spends half her time in the dressing room smoking weed makes "like ONLY 350 dollars!!!" on a DEAD monday I call bullshit :)

Re: Obnoxious top earners
i'm glad someone said it.
i don't think i'm obnoxious, but i'm certainly not going to apologize for having a good night, whether everyone else has made good money or not.
commiserating is a great way to ensure that you continue making no money. instead of getting jealous of the top earners who are bragging, ask them for advice on how you can increase your earnings.

I don't think it's "throwing it in someone's face" to be honest about how much you made. When I was a new stripper... I worked with a girl who used to say she would NEVER be a stripper for the amount of money the rest of us made. Instead of being mad, I was inspired. I realized that I could be the girl who "would never work for $500, LOL"... and now I am.

Re: Obnoxious top earners
not an excuse for piss poor earnings what i meant didnt have to do with the actual amount of money one makes but the overboasting and intimidating others because of it. sure, more power to them if they make money but to rub it in my face and say theyre soo much better and top of the world but yeah top of the world in a strip club and outside in college aint exactly the same thing

This is a VERY interesting, insightful, and thoughtful point. Not to put anyone down, but all of the top earners in my club do not attend college. And have no plan or interest in doing so. Most of them live and breathe stripping. The top earner at my ex-club worked 7 days a week. A minimum of a 5 hour shift, but usually shed be there 6-2. I always wondered how she found time to spend any of that beloved money, because she was slaving away every day for literally 6 months. I'm not one to judge, but if I worked that much, and made that much; I would take a luxurious vacation!
Girls who are full time students at universities I have noticed don't do as well. I'm not saying that it's impossible or even improbable to be a top earner AND a student. But I took at the very least 5 classes ever since I started dancing and I have to say it does usurp some energy. After I've had a full day of classes, dancing is kind of an added stress. Sometimes after 8 hours of class you don't have the same get up and go as a girl who woke up at 5 pm. Thats just my personal opinion because I feel fatigued often.
It's also not appropriate to suggest a girl gets a "regular job" because she doesn't do as well as YOU, or make as much money as you. That's not your business. If I made less than 100 dollars everyday, yes I would quit stripping. My averages are not high, but they are still much higher than my wages would be at IHOP or Banana Republic.
I think a lot of women start stripping with the idea that it'll be easy money. It's definitely far from easy, at least for me. I have considered quitting if the economy doesn't improve soon...

Re: Obnoxious top earners
^ this very point makes me question, WHY does it matter? Why do top earners feel the need to rub it in others faces, and why do dancers who don't make as much bitch? Why is it ANYONES business? No one knows what anyone really has going on, therefore the playing field ISN'T level, and one really cant make comparisons. "she's in college" "she isn't in college, works every day of the week". The dancer who isn't earning a lot will eventually learn maybe this isn't the field for her, and the ones who do well will keep doing well and that's it. Idk, but I wouldn't be too quick to brag about my successful nights. God knows what a jealous, desperate dancer may resort to because I was in the DR bragging about this and that. My paper is my paper and not anyone else's goddamn business, regardless of how well or poorly I do.

Re: Obnoxious top earners
I don't mind if a girl wants to share her enthusiasm about making a lot on a particular night, but I do get annoyed when they gloat. I rarely discuss my earnings simply because nothing positive will come from it. Talking about how much money you made just puts a target on your back, and I'd rather not deal with jealous diva strippers.

Re: Obnoxious top earners
Hey guys I'm new, yesterday was my second day dancing, and I have had other dancers ask me how much I've made. My first day was a Saturday, day shift and I made 80 dollars after paying fees, and I was honest when I told them how much I made. But yesterday, a couple girls asked me how many LDs I'd gotten and how much I'd made, and I told them honestly again. Later in the evening, while paying my fees I saw that I had the most lap dances and stage sets, etc.... I was the top earner yesterday.
My question is, when people approach me and ask how I did or how much I made, should I tell the truth? Or just say I haven't counted my money? Yesterday some girls started being catty with me, and I think its because I started making money. I want to avoid all of that.
I don't mean to sound conceited, but I do think I can keep upping my earnings and making more as time goes on. I want to always be a top earner... but I don't want to put it out there either, or lie to girls saying I haven't made any money and then they see I've got a bunch of LDs....
Suggestions?

Tell them, "I'm sorry, but I don't want to discuss my earnings to anyone." That's nobody's business. I can't believe they asked you that, fkn rude. :O Probably bc they know you're new to this. Never tell ppl how much you make. Ever.

Re: Obnoxious top earners
If you really wanna know who is consistantly making the most, just look at the Champagne room chart. When I was dancining, it was usally always the same 7-10 girls selling rooms consistantly.
Two years ago I worked with a woman in her 40s who worked only weekends but she was making well over 1000 per night, most girls made anywhere from $400-$700 on weekends. She was a sales pro, and instead of hating- I watched her and listened to her, she was a smart lady.

Re: Obnoxious top earners
I like to know who my competition as top earner is. I dont need a nightly update, but if I'm having a good month, knowing if I hold the top spot or how far I am off being there helps drive me to work harder. That being said, I don't like to share how much I earn. I just like to know how a couple of the others did.

well im thrilled to see that you think so little about the line of work that you and almost every other girl on this board do.
seriously. maybe if you had a more positive outlook on it you would make more money?
this reminds me of the customers who are all "you are too good/smart/pretty/etc to be here". if you think there is shame in entertaining and showing your boobs and vagina for money, then dont do it. bottom line.
and for the record, i am a top earner in SC and i am also a college grad who graduated with a solid gpa. i take as much pride in being a top earner at the strip club as i do in the fact that i have a degree in math. just because one of them is white collar and one of them is naked collar doesnt mean one is better than the other . maybe by society's standards... but society can bite me. i aint want shit to do with them anyway.

Re: Obnoxious top earners
I don't like to discuss money, good or bad. A general "How did you do tonight""prettygood/ coulda been better" is one thing, but I don't like hearing numbers.
There's a girl a work who I really like, but she doesn't really have her hustle down yet. There's been a couple times when she's confessed to me that she has only made a very small amount of money (I don't even want to state the number here, lol), and I don't know what to say to her when she asks how my night went. I don't want to tell her that I made 5x what she made. I generally just sympathize with her, and try to evade questions about how I did. I'm not a top-earner; I'm still fairly new myself, and am probably pretty middle of the road, earnings-wise (I have some killer nights, and some not-so-good nights).
The whole thing makes me really uncomfortable, and I wish I didn't know what anyone else was making.

Thanks so much.......... I thought it was kind of rude, too. The question alone made me uncomfortable.

Re: Obnoxious top earners
I'm with Athena in a way... I too have a bachelors degree (actually two), and this is where life has taken us. I'm ok with it, you're ok with it. We're all in the same boat. I just choose not to develop relationships with other dancers because I never know if they'll be kind souls like you wonderful ladies on is board (excluding trolls!), or jealous and vindictive. Is that bad? I'm not sure.

Re: Obnoxious top earners
Well being 'tight' with your co-workers has it benefits from what I can tell. I was in the dressing room the other night and this girl was talking on the phone about another stripper she is fighting with and says "we was tight, like real tight we shared panties and everything."
lmao I think I'm gonna get punched in the face one of these days because I'm not going to be able to contain my laughter.

I love this. This is pretty much how I feel about it. I'm an extremely intelligent person and have a great life outside of work, but I always get so frustrated with people that are like, "You're working as a stripper??? But you could be doing something so much better!!" or whatever...it's like, I'm doing what I WANT to do right now. I try to surround myself with non-judgmental people for the most part and that makes me pretty anti-social...'cause damn, there are a lot of truly bitter judgmental people out there and it's dumb! You live your life and I'll live mine and let's quit the hatin'!

Re: Obnoxious top earners
Q."how much did you make tonight?"
Me: "Nonja. nonja fucking business, probably more money in 1 hour than you've made in your pathetic lifetime"
(Yes I have snarled this when bitches get too nosy)
Now if I want to ask how a close friend is doing I'll ask did you at least break a bill, 200, etc without asking for specifics...and ONLY IF IT IS A FRIEND!!!!
-
Re: Obnoxious top earners
I only talk about how much I've made with my best stripper friends.
