i would, assuming it was a doctor i trusted and felt comfortable with (i don't have a regular doctor right now because i don't have health insurance, and i've had great and awful experiences with doctors).
I told my gyno I was an escort. No problem there. Better to be honest when it comes to your health.
hmm..no?
id just say im sexually active..
dont know what my sexual preferences or job has to do with anything..
if u just explain whats bothering u im pretty sure they can put it together and figure out why u got it?
their only job is to diagnose, cure and make me healthy again..lol
i would only tell my doctor that i cam only if it were very pertinent, like extreme health issues that if were directly related to cam. i get frequent UTI any way, i know how to handle it in a healthy w/o telling the dr.
*just for a quick note-if you got a bad UTI problem, take vitamin cranberry supplements, prevents you from getting it alot, if you do have an outbreak with pain- then take the AZO in the blue box for fast pain relief, it works like a dream- numbs the pain nicely, but walmart sells both and AZO also makes the cranberry daily supplements, i highly recommend them. by no means am i a doctor. but this is what works for me cuz i have genetic disposition for it*
sry for the quick thread jack...plz continue on:)
I wouldn't tell my current doctor because she's kind of a bitch. Although when it comes to my last doctor who I really liked, I don't think I'd tell him either. He was always asking me about my life and my ambitions like he actually cared (probably was just making small talk though, lol). I dunno, I guess I'm afraid of being judged.
If it was something really serious though, I'd tell.
I agree with luxi_kitty. It's easier to just say you're sexually active. I don't really see what your specific job has to do with it. I'm also already prone to yeast infections and I have a non-sex-worker friend who's in a monogamous relationship who gets UTIs all the time - so camming isn't the only way you would get something like that. You're not even actually having sex with another person when you cam. You could just tell them you use toys a lot and are concerned about how that will affect your health. I wouldn't tell unless there is something specifically about camming that is causing you issues that wouldn't happen if you were just very sexually active - but even then, will your doctor really know that much about the specific health risks of camming that they'll be able to tell you what to do to prevent it? Probably not unless you feel like going into deep detail about what you do every day so they can figure it out.
Doctors aren't supposed to judge your sexual lifestyle, but I've found out that the sad truth is, most of them do and aren't very good about hiding it, and I just get annoyed. I guess it depends on how comfortable you feel being completely honest with your doctor. But, when it comes to camming, I don't think there would be a reason they'd have to know.
I usually take all those supplements and keep a back up of prescription pyridium (the numbing pill/antiseptic) on hand but this time I don't think it's helping much so I may need to get antibiotics. Another missed day of work, but it's too uncomfortable to even try to work. Blah!
yea it seems like if you're getting it too often and having to use the numbing pill alot then it seems to not work as much as it should, but if all else fails def get the antibiotics from the doctor. i can't afford to go to the doctor all the time so i just have been drinking tons of cranberry juice, taking the cran daily pills and have not had an outbreak in a while, so the numbing pills will def wrk if i need them too. i know how ya feel tho:)
