Re: Split Camming..the logistics
I was mistaken!!! Thanks h0ttie! Manycam sounds right lol!!!!
Oooh, that is awesome to know that I can pause on SM!! Okay, Im getting ready to do my first split cam shift...going to work SM and ImLive. Once I get the hang of that, I may also add Rude to the mix...I get very few privates on Rude and ImLive, so it shouldnt be too hard to manage right? lmfao! Will see...okay, gonna get ready :D

Re: Split Camming..the logistics
wow, i've never seen a break button on streamate and had no idea that was even an option. all i have is "start streaming" and "stop streaming." i just emailed them to ask them to enable it for me - this will be extremely useful for splitcamming :)
as an aside, i discovered awhile ago that you can stay in "pause free live chat" mode on imlive and still receive privates, so i'm wondering if that's an ideal option for those of us who are still stuck in the 120 hours of flvc hell on that site and want to splitcam. i'm going to try it today and see how things go.
eta: blksharpie, i can't wait to hear how your first day went! i'm about to try it myself...will post later hopefully :)

Re: Split Camming..the logistics
well im doing both now, and not one show in 20 min..I hope things improve!
-
Re: Split Camming..the logistics
i got a nice 9-10 minute private first thing on sm, nothing on imlive, but splitting was killing my poor laptop, so i think i'm going to stop & just work sm for now. my laptop is decent but it's getting on in years and i don't want it to overheat. :(

Re: Split Camming..the logistics
i logged of imlive too...its dead there

Re: Split Camming..the logistics
I ended up getting a web project to work on, as usual "I need it by tomorrow! Can you do that? Ill love you forever and everrrrrrrrr!" So, thats what Im working on right now.
Nearly done though and hopefully within the hour Ill be able to get on cam *sigh*

u have a few options:
u can work with 2 cameras at once.... try to adjust them the same and at source select them separately... and just remember what cam is for what website and if you have a private on site A, remembered what cam is on site B, and point the cam up,so that they only see your head(face) or whatever u want them to see...give them a message copy-paste if possible saying" Im doing a show/ feeling naughty and I started to play- Join me now in private to watch this" or something like that....
U can work with 1 only and split it, and when u have a prv on site A , ur good, if u dont have a PRV on site B, u can switch to members area ( LJ, webcams) or Nude section ( cams.com)............. or logg off.... or.... give a FREE show and pray someone;s gonna tip LOL
either way, u gotta split to make more $$$ :)
can you split LJ and Webcams??? Please say you can!!!!!!

Re: Split Camming..the logistics
Lately I've been having some bandwidth issues, so I don't splitcamming is an option for me. :(

You probably could. I know that on Webcams, free chat is optional. You can just be in the 'private chat only' mode, if you want to.
It's weird though...sometimes I'll log into Webcams, and it'll say my video connection will be very slow. When that happens, I have to keep retrying 'til it says 'good quality'. It's strange.

Well its not the site youre on, its the software you use to broadcast on the site. So I would say yes....as long as you can give both sites attention and keep track of which site youre doing a priv on and pause/break or close down the other site in the meantime.

I dont know what software LJ uses now... in the past u were able to split it ( splitcam was ok)... Webcams.com is ok with splitting.... Cams.com too ( Adobe Encoder does support splitcam and many cam)... Looks like Streamate too...
At a point in the past, LJ had this beta software that was not working with splitting... so I was working 2 cams at once... hell I even worked 3 cams at once... It was a pain.. but u gotta adapt and overcome .....

Re: Split Camming..the logistics
Out of curiosity, which do you think is less taxing on the system and gives better picture quality? Split camming or using several different webcams?

I've tried both and my system plus my bandwidth can easily handle either.
I find it's more convenient for me to have software do the splitting for me. Occasionally I get a show on two sites at once and not wanting to turn down money I find it much easier to pay attention to one single cam. Even if you turn them toward the same area it seems to be when zooming in it's too hard to control and stay in the view when there are 2 cams.
I've got to say, on the days when I have enough energy I love splitcamming! Camming is MUCH more fun when I stay more busy and I'm getting a little better at multitasking the more I do it.
It has to be on a day when I've got the energy tho. Some days I only run one site.

Re: Split Camming..the logistics
I can really see that and think that would be really good for me, if I had more chances to be busy. I need to keep *busy* and get so restless if I dont get many shows...I start thinking of other things to do....

.
Not sure if I understand this right., cause I did 2 cams for so long, its ez to handle them both , in or out of private...
If u have a private on both sites, u are showing them the same image.,,( kind of).. right?

sry, I was so tired when I posted that, wasn't being clear there. Yes, showing both the same image.
Doesn't happen very often, but sometimes I get a show on 2 sites at the same time. I try to juggle both and most of the time I can do it without losing either viewer. I treat it sort of like a group show on streamate.

You can do it. Takes a pretty powerful PC to handle it tho.

less taxing is when u can do it without opening even more programs on your pc..
if u can do it without splitting, it is much better for your pc.....
U do know about Ctrl - Alt - Del combo, and then click Performance to see how your pc is handling the load... right?:)

Re: Split Camming..the logistics
If I find I have the bandwidth, my plan is to splitcam with my 2 laptops and 2 webcams, focussed to me at the same time. I'm thinking of doing Freechat in both SM and AW and when I get a paid show on SM then quickly unticking the 'freechat' option on AW settings. And if the other way around, and get a group/private on AW, pressing the 'break' button on SM.
Don't know if this will work at all....

LoL! Yup yup, I know about the resource manager...was just wondering. My lappy is pretty new and so far handling whatever I throw at it. I tend to have *everything* open...camming plus editing stuff in photoshop and dreamweaver too...and windows open all over the place. Im a mean computer owner, so abusive :D
