Casting advice for producer
I'm new to this forum and was seeking advice on the best way to cast for a series of "R" rated video fantasy clips that I am producing for a new Internet site. I'm planning to videotape in the NJ/NYC area this summer. Is there a highly regarded work related website that dancers use to find on camera work? (in addition to this forum?). What is the appropriate hourly or day rate for non-nude, sexy clothing (ie. bikini, lingerie, sexy outfits)? What is the perception of someone who approaches you in a club and asks if you would like to audition for a video...I sense that may not be the best way to proceed. Any thoughts to help us recruit dancer/actresses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Re: Casting advice for producer
There's no set price, but the better you pay the more likely people are to be interested. Usually when people in the clubs approach me about things like this I tell them to e-mail me the details. I usually want to know exact details of what is involved in the scene, who is filming, editing, etc. Most people aren't that picky, but I like to know that what I'm involved in will come out looking decent.
As for places to look, try ModelMayhem, OneModelPlace, AdultStaffing, SexyJobs, Craigslist. Better yet, just contact one of the talent agencies... many know who the reliable talent are.
Re: Casting advice for producer
Thanks Kylea 2, I've already posted on a couple of the suggested links, but there are 2 you suggested that I was not familiar with, so I'll post there. Interestingly, I've had a number of responses, some appear to be men posing as women, others appear to be women offering services that I'm not looking for. The non adult/ legit models are not interested when I explain the scenes. The few worthwhile prospects seem to be the those who are experienced adult/porn/fetish actresses/models. Even though my scenes involve no nudity/sex.
FYI - The scenes involve 2 to 3 women who are staging fake gun fights with obviously toy (orange capped) guns ...basically running through a location (house, apartment, hotel, outdoor setting) taking turns playing the part of the shooter and the victims. No blood/or gore make up is used, just simple roll play stuff for a pg13- r-rated fetish audience.
My initial thought is to post the details on the website, so its clear what I'm looking for and anyone who is not interested can just blow it off. Other producers have said you're better off placing a more vague ad and then explaining the scenes to those who respond, as you may scare-off potential models/actresses with that description. What do you think? Also, I've thought about posting that models are welcome to bring escorts if they are uncomfortable.
I was researching a few agencies that handle adult/fetish models/actresses last night. I found a couple in the LA area, and i'm trying to locate a NY area club which is closer to me.
Thanks,
Bert

^^^ You should still contact even the LA agencies. Remember that most agencies represent talent nationwide, so they can probably get you a list of those in your area.
Re: Casting advice for producer
See I think that sounds kind of fun + pretty innocent. What are you paying?
Re: Casting advice for producer
Hi,
We are paying between $75 and $100 per hour and sessions typically run about 4 hours. I've posted listings on adult sites and have adult actresses responding, which is fine. However, since these roles don't call for any nudity/sex, it s a little over kill. There is little acting skill, just the ability to sneak through the location, show off your beautiful bodies in a variety of costumes and when you are playing the victim, put on an overacted death scene, shaking your "assets" as you demise. For a higher comfort level my thought was to try to arrange to videotape a group of dancers 2 -4 who already know each other or are friends. If that was the case, we could videotape closer to their location, as these scenes could be videotaped in a hotel suite. If anyone is interested let me know and send me photos (head/body) and/or link to portfolio and i can provide more info and links to samples of similar videos.

Just curious... Most adult actresses that I know won't mind doing non-nude scenes if a) the offer/work is legit b) the pay is reasonable.
You come across as preferring to use exotic dancers for this work as opposed to, as you claim, legit adult actresses interested in your offer? Something is a bit "off" here & I'd caution any dancers here to use due caution.
Bert, what is your website URL? What company do you represent? How many staff do you employ (who is doing the filming/production/support, etc.?), do you have any bona-fide references? (That's just for starters!)
Re: Casting advice for producer
Mia Starr,
Thanks for your post. This is a relatively new venture for me, although I've been in the video production field for almost 30 years. As a newbie to this kind of production, I've posted on this website to get some advice and its been quite helpful. You are correct about adult actresses being interested in non-nude rolls, and over the past week, I've had a few ideal candidates contact me and I'm coordinating a shoot in late July. I've actually found a wealth of prospective actresses through the Fetish Con website and others sites suggested to me in this thread. So, I'm set for my first few shoots and hope to have some material to post in early August.
I completely understand your caution and would suggest that anyone who is interested in participating is welcome to bring an escort with them to a shoot. I'm also not planning any solo shoots, as all of our scenes require two to three models. So at no time will a model be alone on a location. That's one of the reasons I suggested a group of models who already know each other might be a good way to proceed.
Cheers!
