Maybe if the damn search function would *work* like it used to work… people would have more success with it.
Everyone else seems to think it works just fine or complains it doesn't work when it doesn't bring up the exact thing what they typed in. What happened to working for what you find...
Things do change...just like the times do. Things evolve.
Fwiw girl, at one point on this forum, there was a bit more strictness on resurrecting old threads. Some of the newer members also consist of old members coming back under a new user name and transitioning from dancing to camming (and thus, still operating under the old rules). Whether those rules have officially changed hasn't exactly been defined. Perhaps it may be best to pm a mod about that. Just like at one point it was against the rules to post threads about "what should my stage name be," but that's become more relaxed now (and I dig that).
Not saying I disagree with the concept of mega threads, as I actually prefer that method of organization myself. However, it may be something to keep in mind.
I just searched BEST HAIR DYE
And was given results:
Booty Pic Thread
Clubs in Portland
STUPID annoying shit Ive heard on cam…..
Tons of threads having nothing to do with HAIR DYE. Ive gone a few pages, and saw nothing.
Its stupid. Trying less broad terms does the same thing. Now, I know Ive seen such threads. But can't find it. Im tempted to start a new one, at the risk of having tomatoes thrown at me for starting yet another hair dye thread.
Well "best hair dye" has nothing to do with camming LMAO!
WHY NOT UPDATE the OLD THREADS!!! I am ALL FOR IT! I for one think the newer girls especially ones like myself and the other girls could use it....it would dumb down on all this bitching about the "OMG I USED THE SEARCH AND I CAN'T FIND ANYTHING"
I just don't get it...why is it so hard for all of you to do is a search on something so simple? Don't do something broad - do it on SOMETHING SMALL so you don't get such large results and don't get so overwhelmed. You catch my frustration...I don't understand how some people can search and get results and OTHER people can't. Do people NOT know how to use the Internet? This is just frustrated...
I say bring back the old threads...It saves so much trouble instead of started 8 more NEWS ones that the others are doing...It's exactly why NO one can find anything because everyone has everything scrambled everywhere else...I'll take the tomatoes with you.
^^
Yeah, I hear ya. I believe that rule has become more relaxed as well (which is cool with me), just not everyone knows that I guess. I think once the transition from Other Work to CaCo completes and some more threads get stickied, it will smooth out.
Hell, even if it doesn't seem to "work" on here, all you have to do is put the subject or type of threads you are looking for + "stripperweb" into google. it works for me every friggin' time. it's really not that complicated people ::)
Exactly. I just think some people are not properly educated on the effective ways to search.
Sometimes it is not as simple as typing in a few words or one word and clicking on something. Sometimes you have to get technical with it. After all, YOU ARE TELLING IT WHAT TO LOOK FOR. The code in the search script does what YOU tell it to do.
Who gives a shit - another post saying the same thing - don't read it then - it's not difficult.
Personally i spend five minutes searching for what i want. If i can't find it i post about it. If you don't like it, don't repsond to the thread. Simple. So it's annoying - life's annoying get over it.
People creating threads on forums telling other people how to use forums is also annoying but such is life.
P.S. Now if you create a thread very similar to another thread on the same page - that is a bit annoying - well more lazy than anything else. But hey - we've all done it, we've all gone on a forum eager to ask a question, posted our thread and then realised there's the exact same question being asked two posts below. Sometimes you're just too eager to get that info that you forget to use your eyes.
I'm against spoon-feeding. End of story.
Wow really? That wasn't very nice was it? Maybe you spend 5 minutes searching for what you want - but it takes some people an hour, 3 days or 2 minutes. DO you know how long it takes for these girls to keep everything organized and everything in one place so everyone else can benefit from it? Personally - NONE OF US, including me, would have access to ANY of this information if it wasn't for the vets that busted their ass to do so.
It's because of attitudes like that and people that are too damn lazy and want to be SPOONFED with getting information that people do get pissed about not being able to find any information. Is it THAT hard to spend a little bit of time to WORK and find the information you want to know?
You know what's annoying? When you have to create another post that was posted for the 50th TIME when we have answered it a million times just to satisfy your selfish spoiled little ass? Take a class on using the search function and the utilization of search engines. It's annoying that anyone cannot take useful information such as the Internet or free computer classes or anything else and GAIN FULL ADVANTAGE and using every resource available to you instead of saying - OMG IT'S TOO HARD OR I CAN'T FIND IT.
That right there was the WHOLE POINT of this thread.
LIFE wouldn't be so ANNOYING if people would learn to use the bump above their shoulders with the common sense God gave you instead of ignoring the chance to take advantage of the information put right in front of you that's 100% free but you BITCH that you can't find it and refuse to learn how to and expect everyone else to just GIVE it you. EVERYONE ELSE has to work to gather their information and share it as such. BUT no - you have to sit there and CRY about how HARD it is to find something and make the rest of it work our asses off to get the answer for YOU so you don't have to do anything. I can't even tell you how many times girls ask questions and in the thread of the same question there's countless links that people have dropped with the SAME THING over and over again. You want something - go find it. But no - you post a NEW thread that was posted 4 times yesterday and ask again today so you can be lazy and have everyone else look FOR you instead of doing it yourself. LAZY LEECHER.
Like I said before - Computers are NOT stupid machines. Most of the time it's the person working it that is the problem. It does what WE tell it to. It is called machine manipulation. Sometimes it is not as simple as typing in a few words or one word and clicking on something. Sometimes you have to get technical with it. After all, YOU ARE TELLING IT WHAT TO LOOK FOR. The code in the search script does what YOU tell it to do.
WAY to go on the contributions to SW. I'll make a million more threads if I have to explaining to other people how to do things if I would have to - only because if you read through other threads and posts - girls are TIRED of the same thing, every day and having to coddle people who are too lazy to find out information and do research for themselves. I will continue to do so BECAUSE it's the right thing to do when you see that everyone who works their ass off gets pissed, aggravating and upset because it seems like MANY people take it for granted and advantage.
I would crack up one day if MANY people had NO access to this forum because they just sat back and didn't contribute because everyone handed the answers to them because they were too lazy to find anything for themselves. It would be funny if ONE day - those people had NOWHERE to get their information because their #1 spot to go to when they refuse to find out something on their own no longer is accessible. Let's see THEN how many people would JUMP to contribute or keep things organized just so they could stay in the loop and have access to priceless information here.
Oh damn. I AM in the camming spot. Oops.
Moving along…
But really, even in general search from the forum home screen…. Still doesn't seem to work. And Ive been on these forums for years. Annnd Im not stupid.
Anyways. Im getting out of here...
i am not a tech-smart person by any means, but i do know how to use the computer to research, if you want the info that bad you will set time aside to go find it. the problem is, if it takes more than 5 min then that's it, can't find it. it takes a long time to search things most of the time. if you don't wanna set appropriate time aside to do so then why take someone else's precious time to go find it for you? i am not trying to be rude, but i really do think that is pure laziness.
No we all haven't, actually. When I have a question, I look around and search for the answer, and most of the veteran members on this forum do the same thing. It does not take a lot of time or effort to just look at the other topics on the first page.
Ladies, if you're not tech savvy enough to figure out how to search on a forum, I question your ability to be a successful camgirl, since it really helps to be at least somewhat tech savvy. You don't have to know how to code your own website or anything but a little knowledge will only help you to be successful.
(and boobygirl I'm not saying that you specifically do not know how to search, this is just a general "you")
Yeah no problem.
I've had a re-think on this. To be honest i now think you're right. It is lazy and selfish to not search first. Hadn't really considered the amount of time and effort that people put into this forum.
So i take it back. I will endeavour to search more thoroughly in the future.
Was in such a bad mood yesterday - i think i was just looking for a fight. Sorry to anyone i offended.
Thanks booby. That's a kickass STATEMENT from someone at least owns up to their part and owns up to their not knowings. I think that's awesome.
We all have bad days love. No worries.
If you need anything let us know! I may try to find some sort of E-book to help with searching in general for everyone.
I think in part, myself, I have been too hard on everyone about it too.
Just to help out I am searching for e-books on how to use search engines effectively.
Here are some tools on searching (in general) that I found.
Keep in mind this applies across the board on ALL search engines.
I am looking for E-books. I will upload them when I find them. Those are SOME of the websites I found.
Lmfaooooo Kitana, you're killing me here.
Lol at this thread...
