Hello Ladies, which do you guys use and prefer as a payment method for SM? Also, what happened to Payoneer? I'm in the US and my bank is through Bank of America. I'm trying to pick one that has less fees.
Thanks =) Is there a reason why you went with First Choice? I used to have the Payoneer card, I remember withdrawing the money by doing cash back in the store. But this was before I found out about their GBT.
A few things to consider. Paxum is about $49 per year which pays for the card/monthly fees plus any ATM fees. However, if you don't use the card, $49 is what you should be paying total plus $0.25 per transfer to the card from your account. If BOA has a credit card cash advance option, you can just send yourself an instant deposit from the card, free straight to your bank. USAA allows this.
Payoneer/1st Choice charges about $78 per year in DD fees (someone mentioned $1.50) if you work weekly for 52 weeks out of the year, plus monthly maintenance and ATM fees if you're going to be using your card. I've issued a credit card cash advance before, but I ALWAYS have to leave a few bucks in there and sometimes it doesn't work. Payoneer/1st Choice also charges a $4-5 (unless they've changed it) maintenance fee per month. So you're looking at $48 in yearly maintanance fees, plus $78 if you choose direct deposit to your bank ($1.50) and plan to work 52 weeks. That's $126 a year alone, not to mention ATM, etc fees. Also, you'd have to either pay $5 for 'instant loads' or, wait 2-4 days to receive your direct deposit in your account.
Overall, I say Paxum would be cheaper. One time yearly $49 maintenance fee, $0.25 to send it to your your card on file (if your bank allows cc cash advances) and whatever ATM/fees associated with using your card. My only gripe with Paxum is that the card takes ages if you don't have it already. I think most people on average wait 3-6 weeks for it to show up. Either way, Paxum is much cheaper and you get paid the same day you receive money. So if you are with TTM and SM you get your money on Friday instead of after the weekend with Payoneer/1st choice.
I agree. I wasn't sure about the card so I'm glad you clarified it. Still, $1.50 adds up to $78 if you plan on working 52 weeks in the year which is still more expensive than paxum but we do what we gotta do.
I suppose the only 'free' item with payroll is the check but I learned my lesson that they don't always show up or on time for that matter for everyone. I suppose if one must $1.50 is cheaper than having to pay $3 for check cashing and or your bank holding the actual check or questioning it.
I remember I went somewhere to cash it as there aren't any USAA's near me and they kept repeating "SCREAMMATES" (yeah, he misquoted) very loudly when speaking to me and the younger guy who worked there was looking at me funny and I suspected he knew, lol. I suppose it pays to have discretion.
Thanks Kortney! What about the Bank Transfer option via FirstChoice? Does this have fees as well? How long does it take? If I would go with FirstChoice I'm considering the bank transfer option, but want to know the fees associated with it. I am in the US for reference. I was setting up my payment method at 2am earlier and my internet went out. Hopefully, I can still change it.
any of you use FMLE on mac? if you do which version of OS X are you using and do you know if it will work on sierra if I upgrade?
Speaking of Paxum, I've never been paid later than 11:30EST from SM. Anyone else still waiting for pay or did they forget to pay me again? Lol.
ETA: NVM, just got it. Weird, never been this late before. Thankfully the banks are still open.
Does anyone use the bank transfer option from First Choice? How much are the fees? I'm trying to set my minimum payout. my bank requires a deposit of $250 to avoid monthly fees. So i am trying to set it around that amount plus the fee so I can have a total of 250 deposit in my bank account per transfer.
For paxum, how much are the fees to withdraw money to your bank account. I don't know if BOA has cc cash advances.
Anyway, that's how it works for me with 1st Choice/Payoneer direct deposit.
For those asking how long it takes for the direct deposit to show up, instead of getting your check in the mail on Monday, instead it's direct deposited the next day, Tuesday morning, so when you wake-up the moneys already there!
Did SM change their servers or something? FMLE users, have you noticed this change from:
rtmp://fcs28-1.streamate.com/naiad/live58 (original url thingy to input into FMLE, numbers change)
to
rtmp://sea1b-origin-ls.naiadsystems.com/origin
when you click on the Start Streaming button?
Umm, wasn't paying attention to those numbers, but going to check too when logging in later. Anyway, I still gave glitches on C2C and phone. Hope to pass somewhat soon.
Edit: For me, they are the same old numbers when logging on with FMLE.
If you don't use the card & just have Payoneer deposit it into your bank account than there's no monthly fee. I got pissed when someone (can't remember which site) refused to set up the direct deposit for Payoneer forcing me to get their debit card which costs us even more money.
Now I don't use that site anymore, so I don't pay the monthly fee.
Thank you Kortney for your mathematical genius :)
So the reason I'll NEVER use Paxum again is b/c they have had serious issues in the past with their ACH.
Twice I was left stranded without money.
Even when I wasn't using them they had serious issues that lasted a month or longer.
Their customer service is terrible as well compared to Payoneer's. Payoneer answers the phone, Paxum doesn't & they never return your calls. They used to a few years ago, but that stopped.
I even contacted the girl via Skype & while she did talk to me, I felt she was cold & didn't care that I wasn't getting my money. She kept saying the same thing over & over again that you have to wait 5-7 days. I said NO, it never takes more than a day for me to get the money. She wouldn't even put in a ticket to accounting until the following week.
So even though Payoneer takes 2 days, I'd rather wait the 2nd day & know I'm not going to have issues than deal with Paxum who has had issues at least twice (probably more)
And just so everyone knows how it works, it's the company (the camming site) that decides on how much the transfer fee is. I think (this I'm not sure about) they can charge zero, but I think they'd have to pay Payoneer or Paxum out of their pocket.
Some camming sites charge $3 or more which is NUTS!
It's also the camming site that decides if they will give you the option of transferring it to their debit card or your bank account or both. They have to sign up for both options & link to them on their site.
HTH :)
You don't even need to do that, it's already deducted before it even hits your bank account, so if your bookkeeper just takes your income from there vs. your 1099, it's one less entry you have to worry about. Not sure if the 1099 supersedes your bank account totals.
Oh wow, thank you MISS GEEK. Now I know why whenever I do Skype the sound goes down LOL
So I'm confused, I open up the OBS, but how do I log into SM & other camming sites using that?
Ok, I think I found it in settings under Settings --- Stream ---- I put in https://www.streamatemodels.com & then my login, but it's saying it can't connect to the server.
