If it's on LiveViolet just give up now. They never responded to my repeated attempts to get my first ever TS Gold Show removed from there, only site to ignore my DMCA as well.

You upgraded your lighting and started making more money? Sounds like the quality of your stream improved and now customers are converting faster than before. Placement is based on how many new signups you receive. Sounds like you've been getting a lot of them therefore you got a boost.
Basically new customers are more important to companies than customer retention. So they put people who convert well front and center. Now just because someone is placed high that doesn't mean they're making tons of money. That model may be doing turn and burn type shows. Or goldshows. Lots of new sign ups but not much money earned.
I think this is why there are some models sitting up high but are wondering where the money is. And then there are others who are lower placement making more money on regulars and longer shows. Sounds like things arw working out for you: new customers who are spending more than just a few bucks. That's great and I don't see the conspiracy in that? Enjoy the wave. Keep up the good vibes so members continue to sign up and spend money. Just because things are working out doesn't make it unfair. In theory using wifi isnt the best idea but its not impossible to make money with it. Besides the people from SM support have been known to give non-answers because they either don't know or aren't allowed to say.
I had the same thing. Havent been on there in a couple of weeks so things may have changed but yeah, number 1 spot after just a couple of days using smb. Re preferential treatment it definitely goes on, I notice it all the time on AW- a set of girls will do really well then it will switch, then back again.
Ps is the webcam issue fixed now? Cammed the last 2 nights on multiple sites and didn't have an issue on any of them.
Since we're on the topic of placement... This post is all about how F4F calculates placement. Some, all, or none of this might apply to the SM placement algorithm. I don't know.
While I'm not sure I'd really recommend F4F to anyone, I love that they provide nearly exact calculations on everything that goes into your placement. I realize that SM and F4F have their own proprietary algorithms, but I assume that they value similar things, so I consider the F4F placement model to be instructive. I think it can possibly give some insight into the factors that cam sites actually value (as opposed to SM, which just tells us to work a bunch and have 5 stars and an awesome stream, but keeps the rest of the equation secret).
Some of the minor things they count aren't relevant to SM, but F4F does take into account: earnings over the past week, how many hours (above 10) you've broadcast in the past week, number of conversions in the past week, your average hourly earnings over the lifetime of your account, and your video quality. You also get small boosts for having an HD profile photo, your number of favorites, and the number of guys that get notified when you log on (as far as I know, none of those factor in to the SM placement equation, but we don't really know).
What's really interesting is how the major factors are weighted. For example, F4F gives you 2 points for every dollar spent in your room. They give you 250 points for every new conversion. In other words, every new conversion, before he even spends anything, is worth $125 spent by existing customers. Most of the time my placement boost from conversions is roughly equal to my boost from earnings, simply because they are weighted so heavily.
They also give you 250 points for every hour above 10 hours/week that you spend actively broadcasting (not on break), so theoretically you get a nice bump from working more. It's a grueling site, so you definitely have to be tough to get many of those points, lol!
The one bit of math that isn't fully explained on F4F is the boost you get for your lifetime hourly average. Basically, it says that you receive a bump to make your placement score similar to other models with the same lifetime hourly average. In other words, I could be having a shitty week, getting very few points for earnings or conversions, but if I have a solid history of good earnings, they'll still place me pretty high. Right now, it accounts for 94% of my entire placement score on F4F, so hourly average is a really big deal!
F4F also gives you a 10% increase on your total score if your video quality is high enough. That's nothing to sneeze at, but if your score otherwise sucks, that 10% won't help you much.
TLDR: Lessons from the F4F placement algorithm, which may or may not apply to SM:
1) On F4F, having a history of good hourly earnings is enormously important. If you are historically a good earner, your placement won't suffer much even during a shitty earnings period. If you have a long history of good earnings, it will take a lot of shitty days to decrease your average and mess up your placement.
2) Earnings in the past 7 days also matter. If you haven't earned much in the past, but you're having a great week, that can temporarily bump your placement.
3) New conversions are very valuable to your placement - so valuable that it's quite possible to get more points for recent conversions than from recent earnings.
4) A high quality stream is frosting on the cake. It boosts your score by 10%, so it will give a high earner an edge, but if you have low earnings and conversions, the best stream on earth won't save your placement.
TLDR Part 2 - My Point: Based on the info provided by F4F, my personal observations, and the info that Katy Boleyn has given us in the past, I would guesstimate that at least 80% of your placement on SM depends on some combination of (in suspected order of importance): your hourly average (historical and recent), your conversion rate, and your total earnings (recent and maybe historical). Honestly, 80% is my low estimate, but realistically I suspect it's higher. I think the factors on the "My Rankings" page do influence your placement, but only by maybe a page or so.
I have no idea if there's any additional special preference. It's possible that specialty white labels (BBW, Ebony, MILF, etc.) would boost models that fit their targeted demographic, but on the main site and generic white labels, it only makes sense to rank models by their estimated ability to bring the site $$.
Placement is definitely based on earnings/conversions. My placement always goes up after a day of making a lot of money in a shorter amount of time. Like yesterday, I made my daily goal (which usually takes me 6+ hours to make) in about 2.5 hours. Today, my placement is higher than some of the ladies that were above me yesterday. So, after making sure your stats are all in the "excellent" range then making more money in a shorter amount of time will definitely help your placement. It's actually pretty simple. No one is getting special treatment...some girls are just better at selling than others.
as much as i would like this to be true because it makes sense....it doesnt work like that for me..i have had weeks i have made a ton in like no time and others i made barely anything compared and my placement tends to stay the same. it does randomly jump up from time to time tho as long as i am working consistent hours. but its not like a gradual thing.....kinda annoying because i would be more motivated to work if my placement grew by how well i was doing day by day
Ive gotten 12 messages THIS WEEK looking for genuine meet ups... I dont mean, like... taking their best shot with a cam girl meet ups, they genuinely think Im looking for a date. One said "Interested in dating outside of the US"... There would be no need to phrase a message like that unless they had met a advertisement offering us up as single and looking. Its never been such a dense pack of offline date offers before. I wouldnt mind if these people spent money, but so far ive seen most of them in freechat, some setting days at a time, and not ONE has spent a single gold. Whatever, back to "I dont meet strangers, maybe if you get to know me in exclusive over time we can discuss it further"... Which i hate doing.
How do you know what everyone else around you has made? And I agree, it's not always an immediate jump...sometimes it takes a week or so of making more money and putting in more hours for your placement to be effected. And I believe there is a hard reset of placement every month or so. I'm just explaining how my placement jumped up after a day of making more money in a small amount of time. I don't know what everyone around me is making, but I did notice that I jumped above them after that day. There are so many different factors that go in to placement, it's too hard to figure out what everyone else's stats are compared to ours.
I'm not sure all those do count for much. I hopped on briefly again last night and again was in number 1 spot. I haven't earned a penny on SM in the last month and have only crammed on there for 10 mins max. When I was new I went straight to number 1 after a few days and I had only done about 12 hours. I think what did it for me was because I charged 14.99 per min and was getting mainly exclusives so I earned a high amount in a short time. I also switched to using SMB with a dedicated logitech c920 and added a small extra light in front of me. Bam, straight up there!
Even if SM did have a transparent camscore, I don't think it would matter. There are only so many factors you can control when it comes to being successful on any site. In the end, you can get lucky or you can make it work by working long hours. Success is combination of work and luck. There really is no shortcut if you want to succeed. If you work 40 hours a week, you're pretty much guaranteed some kind of success. The most successful Twitch/YouTube streamers are those that work long hours consistently and they have it a lot harder than cam girls in a way since they can't really market that they are doing it for the money or have a tip menu.
Why does my ranking tool show me that I'm not broadcasting in widescreen even though I am? I use encoder or sm broadcast...
Is it me or is it uber criminal how many cheap bastards and beggars are right now?
Is something going on that I'm not aware of?
Yeah it always drove me crazy that full time youtubers/twitch people can't act like they do it as their job to make money. "Yeah I work 40 hours a week on this for fun and it's a hobby" is what cheapasses wanna hear. Get real there's bills to pay and fun things to be done when you have money and time for it.
I wish I had the work ethic to do 40 hours a week on cam. I mean 30 is doable most weeks but some reason I just don't do 40s with this job. I think it might be because I'm really not a people person and a few of these guys seem to be phenomenally shitty people to have to deal with.
Im just having a really slow day im just on to waiting for it to be closing to dinner time (west coast) before i leave to get some food and put a little captain in me to help me reset my sleep. i want to get to bed and wake up at different hours then i currently do since i changed the hours i work and want to have more daylight hours when im awake (sleep like a normal person). so my plan for tonight since its slow and i got nice $90 payment between phrendly and niteflirt is get drunk on some captain morgan and head to bed around 11/midnight.
Hey Ginger it's not really possible for anyone to give you an average as it really varies. Some girls make very little while others are banking, then the next night their roles are reversed. The only way to ensure you make decent money on a regular basis is to split cam, charge high rates, and show up regularly! As you probably figured out from my ranting earlier tonight in chat I have pretty high expectations for my own earnings, and while I sometimes find it frustrating not to earn what i want in the TIME that i want (I.e. as quickly as possible), i usually meet my goals though i may have to turn on more sites and stay on longer. Whack those rates up and try out a few other sites x
Oh and guys, sorry for the newb question (again) but what's the best way to deal with SM when you get shows on multiple other sites? I usually try and persuade them into paid saying im about to get naked, then shut it down or go on a break if they're not playing ball, but it's really inconvenient. Is there like a way to go on a break but show up like im in a private they can join?
You can do that? Omg
yes, 1 pc is fine. download split cam or many cam to like "clone" ur cam and it depends what sites u split. some u can pause, some u might need to log off , some have a paid only section you can go into.
if ur new def just try to add one to split at a time or it can be overwhelming, then add more sites when u get comfortable splitting
How do you explain the "top model" who hardly logs on and she's on the top row? Trust me it's a combination of:
Special Treatment
Money made per hr.
Time online ect.... it's a combination of whatever they want to do.
I've worked on stream for 9 yrs. and I have been in business with the owner of the site.
Is there still a glitch with the bit rate? Mine just crashed down to 122 yesterday and it's STILL at the same exact #:(((((((
It was at 1472 before it bottomed out. Anyone else having a problem with their bit rate bottoming out again?
