Same here) Obviously SM is having us pass over pieces too big for their servers to chew lol.

I flipped my settings down a bit. My traffic is staying and chatting a bit longer.. so I do have to agree there is something to it. I dropped about 4-5 rows from doing it.. but I'm still on page 1 so I can't complain much.
I really didn't notice a drop in my placement from the 720HD settings vs the regular widescreen settings? Maybe a few models back but I figured thats because of my slowness earlier in the week due to all my connection issues. We shall see, even so, a row or two down vs higher up and no money and lower down and making money, I'll take the latter of the two.
I'm still relatively new on SM... so I haven't gotten higher than say.. midway on page 1 unless I'm on during a very slow time model wise. So that's probably why I took a harder hit to placement.
Why am I doing better on wifi, then hardwired? Better traffic, money and placement. This is a new one to me. I realized when I was running on wifi, it was better for me. Used the old codes today, and so far I am having better results this way......hmmmmm. Guess, nobody will ever know. Just thought that was a bit strange, and wanted to give my feedback on what I am trying today.
I get better placement with my Core i5 laptop that is 2 years old than I do with my new 6 months old AMD A10 desktop (Yes, crap..). I'm planning on upgrading to a powerhouse computer in 2 months! I learned the hard lesson that AMD A10's a just shit.. Like seriously dog crap. This thing is getting handed down to my kiddos for the living room when mama gets her upgrade.
It's brand new, I never did hardwired until I read how everyone was using the CAT6 cable, I said oh duh, maybe that is why I had some glitches, I have upgraded internet. I have another ethernet I will try but I was curious and decided to test a little today and thought that, since I started doing hard wired, I have had shit traffic, placement went to crap. Who knows with SM these days. Ill let you guys know tomorrow when I try a few different things.
Anyone else find their streamate stream looks very...... yellow..... compared to the image in the encoder? It's like I'm in a hospital full of indoors chainsmokers. Looks bad man
Fuck Me!! Is anyone else having problems with their bit rate going everywhere?? I'm busy but no one is able to take me to pvt!! So fn annoyed!!
I hate you SM!!
Yеs, I have the same problem. I just get into my room and adjust the white balance/brightness looking at it rather than the encoder. The computer's color profiles must be the issue, actually, but I'm too lazy to check mine (also, I've been procrastinating on ordering color calibration cards).
^^ Thank you for for the advice but I switched back to the old settings and everything worked like a charm. Thank goodness, it's the last night I could work this week and made my goal. Now I can have a good weekend without stressing that I'm not working.
So I've been reading a little about the OBS, how many of you SW SM'ers actually uses it? Does it somewhat fix crashes?
I have this issue constantly where it's a cointoss if the encoder will work when I click 'Start'. The encoder image will blink, go black and then say it's streaming (black screen), and the webcam will blink on and off, or look like it's on but show a black screen. I seem to remember I investigated at the beginning and from this thread and others I derived that this was normal, but yesterday it was ridiculous, dudes. I spent more than FORTY MINUTES clicking 'start' and closing and restarting the crashed Adobe encoder, changing webcams, restarting my computer, changing webcam in the usb ports, logging in and out of Streamate, nothing was working. I'm thinking it can't be good for my laptop that I restart it four times in 10 minutes, or that the webcam goes on and off seventeen times --it's not sane. There is really no better way of going about this? Or should I just give up when I consistently can't get online? Will trying the OBS improve my chances at all?
I'll download it and work with it if it promises a significant improvement, but if it turns out that it just marginally improves my chances, I think I simply can't deal with that type of rejection. :'(
Is ur computer a powerful one? How about ur connection? U been able to use the encoder before or it never really worked? What settings do u use? Normally the adobe encoder should work with a decent equipment and connection but then again depends on what u have & what settings u use. To me it sounds like a malfunction related to ur system capabilities, u may want to give more details in here in order to get a helpful answer.
Hey guys, quick question... On sm i get paid via payoneer, and i know that payments come in a week after when using payoneer. If I switch to a wire transfer will I start receiving weekly payments, instead of the delay?
Thanks for replying. I don't have a super powerful computer but I don't think it's too shabby either, it's a i5-3210m procesor @2.5GHz. My connection is adequate and it's even better lately, it went from 20 dl 5 ul to 100 dl 20 upload in the last two weeks. The encoder has always 'eventually' worked after so many tries. I use it with the recommended HD settings, I have tried using the medium settings but they always crash the encoder, I actually always reload from the recommended settings file and I only change the microphone source (which sometimes prompts the encoder to crash as well) to the webcam. I've tried fiddling with the settings but it always seems most apt to work if I just keep the recommended settings (although I get a better image with a higher bitrate).
I am using the 3.1 version, which I have installed and uninstalled frequently with indefinite results. Should I try with the 3.2 version then? I also seem to remember reading that the 3.1 version was best for my Windows, but I might be mistaken.
Thank you for your comments, I will keep trying to optimize my computer, I see how it could be better but I cannot afford to upgrade right now. Gotta make the most of what I have right now.
Your i5 PC is just fine & ur connection is good too, i dont know what could be but installing the 3.2 version could help, give it a try and see how it works.
There are soo many variables that could cause ur situation, is pretty difficult for somebody who cant see ur system to troubleshoot and help; also dont know what u call 'recommended settings', can u be specific pls? Means picture size (resolution), bit rate, frames per second?
Sometimes is a matter of hardware or software conflicts (operating system, drivers, video card capability, memory, even bios settings), there could be a little problem like a setting causing these issues.
When i upgraded my video card recently i got a nice 1Giga Asus card that was not compatible with my system simply, luckily i bought it from a shop down stairs & been able to return it right away and replace it with another one. The guy was also baffled how come it's not working on my system, i also have an i5 HP desktop pc, when i got home with the 2nd capture card in my pc i realized something is off with my pc then i remembered the guy said he changed some settings in bios when trying the 1st card, i figured out he did not change them back so i set bios to default, luckily all was ok then but i had a lot of headache and sweating troubleshooting.
Try the 3.2 encoder version & see how it works, good luck.
Dear Streamate,
Fuck you.
Fridays have become the worst day of the week to cam for me. I'm going to start grinding hours Sunday-Wednesday so I won't have to deal with stressing out at the end of the week all the time. Seems that every model gets on towards the end of the week to make up for the hours they didn't do at the beginning and then we all suffer.
fridays are the absolute worst.
As long as I log in I'm usually good on money but I agree- it's best to hustle early in the week so when the weekend comes you have made the bulk of your money and can even afford a day off to yourself :)
