VAT changes, starting from 1st November. We'll be paying VAT. Our customers will be paying VAT (I thought they already did?)
If we're paying VAT on Site Fees, it looks like we're back to where we were before...? Except we can't opt out this time unless we're part of a group or VAT registered...?

Hello CatBBW
We would like to make you aware that as of 1 November 2020 we will be making required changes to how VAT is implemented on AdultWork.com.
There will be a VAT Information page available from the 1 November with all the relevant information for you to reference, however, for your convenience we have included some key details below.
VAT will become applicable to more areas of the AW site(s), including:
Site Fees (Administration, Advisor and Facility Fees)
Promotional Facilities such as Available Today, Phone Number Display, Featuring, DirectCam/DirectChat Positioning and Local Escort Search.
Service Providers and Group Managers that are registered for VAT within the EU and UK will be able to provide their VAT registration details allowing us not to charge VAT in these areas and you can account for it yourself under the Reverse Charge Provision.
There are other activities on Site that are considered business-to-consumer where VAT will be levied on consumers. As with e-services today (e.g. movies and private galleries), this means VAT will be added to the prices you set and ultimately seen by your customers.
More information will become available on 1 November but we wanted to give you as much advance notice as possible so you would have time to consider:
consulting with an accountant/tax professional to understand the potential benefits of registering for VAT in your jurisdiction
researching AdultWork.com Groups to see if joining one would be more practical or provide you with any cost savings
your pricing structure; this is your business and you should always price your services with an amount you are comfortable receiving whilst remaining mindful of what your customers see
minimising the immediate impact by requesting credit transfers now or any time before 1 November, especially for anyone holding a large balance
As always, it is our priority to provide a platform that allows you to run your online adult business with ease and keep you compliant with the burdens of regulation. These changes are inline with that aim and we have taken comprehensive professional advice to ensure the effects of the current VAT legislation have been kept to the absolute minimum.
Thanks and Regards
The AdultWork.com Team
