Umm, what happened? You were the customer buying the dress?
Yea I was. He came in the changing room when I didn't have the dress on fully yet. I had my arms in front of my breasts to cover them, he pulled them away and literally grabbed them. Then he pulled the front of my dress down and while he was doing this he basically fingered me. I know I shouldve told him to stop but I was so scared I couldnt speak... I was the only customer....
That's not harassment that's assault. And yeah I'd file a report.
OMG I would have callled the police!
That's terrible! Definitely file a report. I have seen before in sex shops where I've been buying clothes that some male employees try to get involved in your shopping more than the usual 'can I helP you with anything?' but Boone has ever gone as far as to enter the dressing room!
WTF??? That's nowhere close to acceptable.... Put him in jail, fast. So he can get fingered in the ass by a big hulky inmate.
OMFG, yes I don't know the particular statutes of your state but I'm pretty sure that's at least sexual assault. Please file a report for your own well being and that of others....I hate to say it but I'm sure you're not the first and if you don't stop him you won't be the last.
As a side note, I NEVER go to porn shops alone to try on stuff. I always take him with me. If it's a regular stripper store like Stomps in Albuquerque where I have known the proprietor for years, it's no problem.
Stripper stores in Philly are n/a since I am not allowed to drive to the city >:(
OMG please, PLEASE file a report! Like others have stated, at the absolute minimum, that is sexual assault and you don't deserve that type of treatment - nor does ANY woman.
Honey, what others have said is correct, that meets the classification in most states for rape, and it definitely does not happen normally when shopping for dance stuff!! You have the right to shop and be safe there, just as much as if you were at Macy's or something. That definitely is a CRIME and something for the police to handle.
*major hugs* I'm SO unbelievable sorry that happened to you, that must have been so scary. I used to work at a rape crisis center, if you'd like any info feel free to PM me.
I just went to the police. They are going to arrest him immediately.
But something bad just happened.. I got a phone call from the other man that worked at the shop. I know its really stupid to have given him my number but its because i put a dress on hold and they needed a contact number. I hung up with an excuse... Shall i go inform the police?
WOW!
this almost sounds soo surreal!:'(
There does does need to be penetration for it to be rape. Sexual assault is the new, all-encompassing word for rape and in most States and all of Canada there is no differentiation between the two.
Ashley, I'm sorry. That really sucks. That's not normal, okay or something that anyone should have done to them. Its perfectly understandable to be confused or unsure what to do, many other women would feel exactly the same way.
If you're not too traumatized from the experience and want to take action against the employee, the following steps are what I would advise at my "real job":
1. Call the store and find out the employee's name if you don't know it. Lying to get this name is perfectly acceptable.
2. File a report with the police. Get a copy of said report, because it is 99% sure that nothing will be about it. Its a pretty straightforward he said-she said situation and unfortunately its really difficult to bring legal charges in a case like this. This is purely a scare tactic for step number 3.
3. Take a copy of the report you've filed and talk to the store manager. Do not accept any discount, ask that the employee be removed. If the guy that committed the SA is the store manager try and get higher in the store.
(If the manager allows the employee to continue working or the accused is the manager)
4. Word of mouth: you're a stripper or soon to be. Strippers are big clients for these kinds of stores. Mentioning without outing yourself might be enough to stop anything similar from happening to other girls. Try things like "I heard one of their employees raped a customer", "there's something filed with the police about them", w/e.
This might seem a little bit extreme but given the circumstances I think its perfectly reasonable.
OMG! Definitely keep the police informed any time they try to contact you....
I know you are shaken, but I can't believe you said "I THINK I've been sexually harassed!" You were sexually ASSAULTED, no bones about it! :-( You poor thing.... ugh....
DEFINITELY do everything you can to get this asshole in jail. Even if not for yourself, do it for the next girl. Imagine it was your little sister in there!
As they say, "all it takes for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing." The brashness with which this guy committed this act (from what you wrote), tells me that it wasn't his first time. :-(
Hang in there, and please keep us posted, ok?
And by the way, there is NOTHING to be ashamed of in going to a store to try on sexy clothes! For all anyone knows, you were picking out a hot outfit to surprise your boyfriend with on his birthday, or something.....
Those sickos are COUNTING ON YOU TO BE "ASHAMED", so that you'll be too embarrassed to report them! Don't let them get away with these tactics! Hold your head high, and do your part to make sure justice is done. You did NOTHING WRONG... you have every right to go into a store and try on clothing... and every right to expect courteous service.... not fucking SEXUAL ASSAULT! WTF?!?
Keep us updated on this... prosecute that perv, AND sue the store!
Yes I would inform them. There is no need for them to contact you and I'm sure the police informed them not to contact you at all. Just explain to the police that you do not want to be contacted at all by him or the business in any way, shape or form. I had a guy at a wawa (convenience super store) pull his dick out in my car window twice when I was younger and told me he was going to take me in the back and fuck me behind the dumpster like the whore I was. I was so dumbfounded that I didn't say anything until the next day and I told my mom. So I went and told the managers and they called the police and they tracked him down. Turns out he quit the next day after he did that to me. I'm sorry that this happened to you. It's not right and I hope that you are going to be alright.
Hi there, thanks so much for giving me advise... Just a quick update..
The passed 2 days have been SO long, been at the police station for hours and hours.
I'm happy they believe me! They said theyre really busy atm but they are definitely going to arrest him some time this week.
If he then admits he did it he's getting away with just a serious caution which I think is lame. But if he doesnt admit it then I can chose if I wanna take it to court and I think I will, this sick fuck needs to be punished.
The other employee that rang me the other day can get charged for harrasment or something if he keeps contacting me...
Also, tonight is my very first time in the club, I have a lesson before the place opens so thats good I guess! Im so so nervous and excited but this whole sex assault thing has kinda put me off a bit :(
They're too busy to investigate and arrest someone on an assault charge, when you're being harrassed by other employees in the store? Is this a sesame street police dept?
This is terrible and I hope he gets arrested and put in prison.
Maybe it's me, but why in the hell are stripper stores hiring male employees like this? Sorry, but I think this is a time where it should be women only. I know the stores I used to buy outfits at were all women owned and managed and only had female employees. One was a former stripper herself. I wouldn't even shop in a store with men in most cases.
I agree with Tempest about bringing someone. I always took either a friend who was also a stripper or a male friend/boyfriend.
Thanks for telling us, I too will be avoiding this place like the plague.
I buy all my stuff on line as I find it cheaper, once you find a style you like and know it fits well you can find anything online !
Good Luck with the police and let us know what happens.
Kudos to you for being so brave xoxo
