A customer brought his iPad to the club; what a retard!
A while ago (when I was still dancing in Va. Beach), some d-bag/cheap customer brought his iPad and all his smartphones (he had an iPhone and a DROID). That club is a dive and is full of thugs.
Me, as a very considerate dancer, approached to him to engage in conversation. I was telling him that a SC wasn't the place for all his crappy toys (I didn't use that word, but for me, the iPad and the iPhone are worthless; I prefer the DROID and all things open source since I'm such a geek) because somebody could steal them. He then came to explain to me that even if it gets stolen, the info was encrypted and all sorts of technical shit I'm very familiar with, but of course, he was totally unaware that I knew about those things (after all, why somebody who knows about those things would be working in an SC). Then I said (I tried to sound as illiterate; I didn't wanted this d-bag know the truth); what if somebody is able to decrypt the info? Then he was quiet; I was looking in my phone (a very old DROID, the HTC G1) for the algorithm used on his iPad and looked how to break the encryption he had. He though I was texting, and I told him I was. Then, after I got the algorithm (it took me over ten minutes to find it), he was shocked; he had been outsmarted by some stripper working in a divey club.
As soon as I showed him that, he grabbed me by the arm and started shaking me; he then started to yell at me of why I'm stripping instead of doing something more productive. He said some really nasty shit to me, but he was kicked by one of the managers.
Since then I haven't talked about being tech savvy to any customer 'cause I'm afraid that they may react like that again. I feel I'm no longer myself if I can't talk about those kind of things. I started to make a fake stripper alter ego, but it felt so fake that I dropped it in less than two days. Now, I just limit to listen to the customer. I guess I learned my lesson, am I right?

It's the same thing with me and explaining to people how I understand Arabic, how I speak fluent Spanish, my fascination with philosophy, or my love of writing. Everyone assumes we are dumb asses. We're just stupid sex objects who only know how to shake ass, suck dick, and count money. I used to think my knowledge and interests would be selling points. But every time I talk about something halfway intellectual with a customer, they give me this ghastly, shocked look and promptly give me some excuse as to why they can't get a dance. It certainly isn't a place where your gifts are praised or appreciated. In fact, it's kind of the opposite.

Re: A customer brought his iPad to the club; what a retard!
I like to show my nerd a little, not because it makes me tons of money or something but because I kind of can't help it if the conversation starts to go that way.
Sometimes it helps a little if a guy is into smart ladies, and if you have similar nerd interests. Sometimes I've found it can sort of backfire and "friend-zone" you, so to speak.
Recently I was talking to this guy about Game of Thrones and the books (which I've just started) vs the TV series. He was pretty cool and we were having a good time, but when I tried to close the sale he didn't want any dances from me because I wasn't a "bimbo" and he would feel bad drooling all over me like that! But he did give me $20 anyway, and wrote down some book recommendations for me.
Another time, at my old club, these young guys came in and I got them to pay me just to hang out and talk about video games. This was a no-contact club, though, so it was a more conversation-oriented hustle in general.

Yeah, it can really be hit or miss. My major is Anthropology, and I'm interested in Linguistics. Sometimes when guys ask my major they think it's hot, but other times they either don't know what it is, or it does absolutely nothing for them... I thought about lying and telling them my major is something like Nursing (Not that there is anything wrong with Nursing, it's just more familiar to more people) but I don't know shit about it.

I get funny reactions when talking to young customers about snowboarding or skateboarding and extreme sports. If we get onto injuries I have to stop myself from talking about how cool scabs look when they glow under a black light.

Military, escort, stripper, private dancer, cam girl, suicide girl, electrical engineer, and now hacker?
Quick! Someone come up with something else so Jay12 can pretend to be that, too.
Although unlike MOST of the "lol, guise, check out this thing I'm making up" stories... there's actually a lesson to be learned from this... you shouldn't hack people's shit.

Maybe you could use that to your benefit. Let him have the condescending upper hand about a career you were never pursuing in the first place. Gives him the impression you're a bimbo (even though you're not). Laugh all the way to the bank.

Yes, you've learned your lesson.
Firstly, it's not your place to tell customers what techy toys they should and shouldn't bring into a SC - regardless of the area the club is in. Some men are coming home from work and have more than one cellphone/tablet/laptop/breifcase and don't want to leave it in their car. It's silly of you to walk up to a customer and berate them for bringing small electronic devices in with them. It's not like he had a freaking playstation along with a 42inch TV; he had 2 smart-phones and an iPad. It's one thing to show genuine concern when you approach the customer ("Oh, be careful and keep your eye on those - this club has been known to have sticky fingers") and it's another to suggest that his personal possessions will get stolen and hacked. I sounds more like you had a chip on your shoulder becasue he had a retarded ass iPad (which I also hate), than actually caring about his things getting jacked. Probably what put him on the defensive.
Secondly, don't hack people's shit to prove a point! Do you REALLY think anyone else in that club would have been able to do what you did? Probably not, so it was just you acting like a know-it-all. It's awesome that you can do techy-things, and as a fellow nerd-stripper I salute you for that - but you don't need to break a customers encryption and security just so you can show it can be done! That's such a violation! And totally out of line. I would want to shake the shit out of you too....I wouldn't, but I'd fucking want to.
It doesn't sound like he acted out because he was irritated by being upstaged by a stripper. He freaked because some bitch just hacked his shit for no reason!!!
Some times the things you say are....just....UGH! :O

Re: A customer brought his iPad to the club; what a retard!
Ok, why would a customer bring an iPad to a dive? This sounds way out there.

Re: A customer brought his iPad to the club; what a retard!
Does anybody else find it comical that a customer brought an iPad into a strip club? Like, he's going to be emailing while there's topless girls everywhere??? LOL....

Oh not much, I just can't help but tease her about the fact that she claims to do everything that everyone else on the boards has ever done... plus a bunch of other stuff.
So far the list of her CURRENT jobs/hobbies goes:
-Engineer
-Electritian
-Plumber
-Contractor
-Stripper - She used to make $100 a day... then we told her that wasn't good money and the next week she was making $700 a day.
-Private Party Dancer
-Private Party Security (for herself)
-Private Party Driver (also for herself)
-Club Dancer
-Computer Programmer
-Now Apparently Computer Hacker
-Military chick - she says she orders lower ranking officers to buy dances from her
-Construction Yard Crew Member
-Going to Dental school at one point....?
-Social escort, she picks up her customers on 'nerd' message boards... and then they tell all their friends that the hot girl they took out was really an escort and then THEY take her out, too.
-Suicide Girl
-Cam Girl
There's possibly more... it's hard to keep track at this point.

Re: A customer brought his iPad to the club; what a retard!
I don't find it comical at all. Tablets are becoming as common place as cellphones for high ranking business men and nerds alike. Majority of guys I danced for when I worked in the financial district had a tablet and couple of smart phones (one for work and one for personal use). They were usually the guys who stopped in with coworkers for a drink before heading home, and most often the customers with a lot of money.
Also, frequently these guys are ALWAYS on call and are constantly checking their e-mail and calls, etc on their devices, so it's important for them to keep them ON them, and not in coat check.
It's kinda nice to have an hour+ booth with a customer when he spends a 1/4 of his time e-mailing co-workers about 'deals'; make my job easier. But it's how they make that money to spend on us, so I'm allllll for it.

Re: A customer brought his iPad to the club; what a retard!
Yeah, I guess times are changing....

Re: A customer brought his iPad to the club; what a retard!
You have to know who to show your intelligent side to. Some guys want a ditz, some guys appreciate an intelligent lady. Do what makes you the most amount of money.

Re: A customer brought his iPad to the club; what a retard!
I guess I just feel kind of feel sorry for someone who would come on here and make up stories for attention. Sounds like a severe personality disorder.

Re: A customer brought his iPad to the club; what a retard!
^I feel sorry until I see people like that giving advice to other girls... when they don't know what they're talking about.
"I'm my own security for my private parties" could make other girls think they could double as their own security and get someone hurt. That really runs my sympathy out fast.
On the subject of ipads:

Re: A customer brought his iPad to the club; what a retard!
I remember the thread where someone mentioned they double as their own security but didn't remember who that was. I don't care how strong a dancer is, it's NEVER a good idea to not have security. Trust me, the one time you go without is the one time you need it.

My sympathy runs out when a fellow SW member goes on about how she's not JUST a stripper, she has OTHER things going on in her life that make her RESPECTABLE and SMARTER than other strippers. So condescending.

I guess I missed all of this.... wow.....

Re: A customer brought his iPad to the club; what a retard!
The second you feel like you can't be yourself at work is the start of burnout.
Be who YOU are and fuck the guys. When I danced (I'm taking a break) I would
occasionally come up with goofy, off the wall, or even sometimes intensely intelligent
things by way of conversation and I still rocked it with my hustle.
I even got some dances by being able to talk about the parts of The Fountainhead that
I loved and hated. It's moments like that that will make you LOVE dancing. As for that guy--
fucking tweeker. You're stripping for the freedom of scheduling and the money. When you feel like doing something else, you will.

Maybe it's all true and she's had a busy experience with life. Maybe it's all lies. Nobody knocks you on all you claim. $2000 a night only working once a week because you have your hustle down, mechanic work on your own car, part time model, running your own business from home, gamer, troll on other message boards.....She perhaps didn't do it all at the same time but maybe she's had a busy life. You never know!

Re: A customer brought his iPad to the club; what a retard!
omg i'm starting to remember her threads now. is she the same one that said she wasn't dancing for the money but because she has a sex addiction?
