Newbie starting off dancing soon
My question is, I have a regular job during the week right now and although I make decent money I really would rather dance, because it's something I love to do. I've been an escort/bachelor party type dancer but never at a club. With that job, I could work whenever or not work whenever I wanted, it was entirely at my discretion. But from what I'm understanding reading all of the posts here, if I want to work in the San Jose/Sunnyvale, CA area I would not have the option of choosing to work weekends starting off, I would have to do weeknights as well, which I understand that dancers who have been there longer deserve them more. But is there any way to get around this? I was hoping to ease into dancing only a few nights (namely weekends) for a while until I could rely on it enough to not have to keep my other job. Is that an unrealistic expectation as a new dancer? Thanks for any advice and sorry if this is one of those really obvious newb questions :/
Re: Newbie starting off dancing soon
Pay your dues and suck it up and work on the weeknights. While you're working those shifts prove you have something different to bring to the table and market that as a reason why you should work the weekends. A lot of times, the girls who have been dancing longer, start to burn out, so work your way in by proving you've got the spark to keep it going.

Hey! I think I might be auditioning at the same club as you pretty soon, haha random coincidence ;) Good luck!

@fionatulip That makes sense I just wasn't sure how to go about transitioning jobs, because I have to be at work early in the morning mon-fri for the job I have, 7-3 and I can't take days off on a regular basis to dance.
@munchkin thanks :) and good luck to you too
