Do you ever feel like you are being watched?
I currently am living in my parents home again.. my childhood home. I have recently purchased a new car so I feel like I have attracted some attention to myself. On FB I used to censor myself but as time has gone forward I have been more outright with pics and posts that would suggest I am a dancer for those that don't already know. I have one fb that I keep EVERYONE on. Today when I came home something told me to take a different route. I entered my driveway from a different street than normal. Usually I am always mindful of who's following me when I am driving home. My concern is not that a customer is following me but I feel like someone is watching me. I get this uneasy feeling because I have had an attempted robbery happen before (diff location) ever since that I have always been paranoid. I swear I saw an extra car on my street. by the time I got in and looked out the window I only saw 2 parked cars not 3. The other day I saw a car with its lights on.. I just feel like someone is up to something.. what does one do in a situation like this.. do I really need to move? or just change my habits I usually get home at the same time but try to mix it up so its not too predictable. I'd like to spend the whole night at work but I feel the safest when I don't get home at 3 am.. what should one do in a situation like this? To make matters worse my father who is home now will be leaving to go back to his job where he travels for weeks/month(s) at a time. I dont want to make my family apprehensive bc they will just blame it on stripping but I feel weird.. and I am not sure how to go about this? any suggestions?
Re: Do you ever feel like you are being watched?
I had one family I knew who lived in a bad neighborhood put up a sign that said "beware of vicious dog", and they were never robbed or even staked out. In addition to the sign, you could buy a big scary dog to keep you safe. I ended up buying a handgun myself, but dogs can be extremely intimidating. Dobermans especially- very loyal and loving towards their owners, but will kill anyone that tries to hurt you or invade your house.
Definitely get a security system if you don't have one. Change up your driving routes. Never be consistent in your schedule or route, and it'll lessen the chances of anything happening to you.
You can never be too safe.
Re: Do you ever feel like you are being watched?
its scarey bc I am not sure if my mind is playing tricks or not but they always say go with your gut feeling and I dont feel 100% safe.. I am more concerned after my pops leaves bc then it will be just my mother and I. I thought about taking different routes and I have been but there are only 3 or 4 ways to enter my house on the corner.. also if I see someone that looks suspicious would it be a bad idea to flash my brights on them to let them know I see them or will it just make them be sneakier? I hate feeling like this but last time I was doing extremely well and people took notice of me and thought that it would be an easy robbery.. that turned into me getting pistol whipped and no money was stolen but it fucked my head up. I dont live in a bad neighborhood but some of the people I went to school with still live here and some of them are on drugs.. I worry that ppl i am friends with on fb remembered where I used to live see my updates and started plotting.. I have since revoked access of everyone I went to school with but if you drive by and see that brand new caddillac in the drive it just screams for attention.. but cant I have something nice.. ive been dancing for 7 years and I finally have something to show for it.. and I worry about people that are sick/fucked up that see a potential "easy come-up" or so they think.. but I just dont want to go through with that ever again.. do have to live like a paranoid person forever just to make sure no one ever gets the chance to rob me.

Wish I could tell you whether you're safe or not :/ this situation sounds really scary.
You may want to invest in a rape alarm for your keychain and pepper spray.
I have one similar to this: http://www.feelsafernow.com/keychain-alarm.htm
Pepper spray is easy to find on eBay, etc.
I also carry a spiked kubotan with me at all times.

Also, if you have any valuables, you should probably hide them in weird places. I put my jewelry in cut-out books and aspirin containers when I'm away. Electronics can be harder to hide, but I've successfully hidden my laptop behind a row of books on a bookshelf, under a couch pillow, in my sleeping pillow hidden under other pillows, and behind boxes of cereal.
My parents and sister really liked to get into my stuff as a kid, so I've learned through trial and error where to put things.
Re: Do you ever feel like you are being watched?
This is a really scary feeling to have and although I hope nothing is up you should always listen to your instinct. Can you install a bright motion activated light maybe a couple pointing different directions since you're on a corner? Could you contact the police and tell them that you think someone's been following you home from work so they could drive thru or park by your house.
Aqua, will that kubotan actually puncture someone if you punch them?

Never ignore your gut. If you feel like something isn't right, then it probably isn't.
Do not live in fear, but keep your eyes open.
