Part Time Stripper
I can't do the stripper thing full time. I am not that strong. I get sucked into the drama and b.s. and forget that all the club stuff is just an act. The problem is that when I leave for a few weeks and come back I can't hustle as well. I find myself getting drunk to erase my insecurities and then the customers just want to buy me drinks all night, no dances. If I don't drink, it's hard to talk to the customers. I then feel like shit because I don't make much and I feel like the price tag for my body is too low. I had one of those nights last night and today I am eating crap and called in to my real job (still paid holiday). UGH! My mind is so muddled up right now I don't even know what I should be asking, but I would really appreciate any and all advice to fix this situation. I don't want to quit stripping all together though.

Re: Part Time Stripper
It is really tough to go back to dancing once you've taken a break. So try not to take weeks off at a time. How many nights a week do you strip? Since you say you have another job, maybe you should just strip 2 nights a week consistently. You should be able to handle 2 nights. If not, I hate to say it but maybe you just don't have the right disposition for stripping. You say you don't want to quit but you sound like you hate this job. If it's just because your hustle is suffering - read everything you can in hustle hut. Maybe buy Dancerwealth and learn how to frame a conversation. Most importantly, when you realize a guy isn't going to spend on you, move on. Maybe you never find all the guys who will spend on you because you spend too much time with the ones who won't.
But you say you feel like the price-tag for your body is too low - if that's the case, even if you had good hustling skills, would you really be happy with how much you get paid per dance? If not, I would move on from stripping, the same you would do from any job where you don't feel the money is worth what you go through. If the job is making you miserable, crushing your self-esteem, stressing you out, and you don't even feel like the money is worth all that, why would you not want to quit?

Re: Part Time Stripper
If everything you've said is true and that really is your situation, I'm sorry honey but you're in the wrong job. You should NEVER HAVE to drink.

Re: Part Time Stripper
You should never have to drink but if ur depressed sometimes u do want to drink. It happens..You come into work in a crappy mood due to life/ bf stress etc and u rnt int he mood to deal with people. SO u have a drink to try to get in a better mood. It happens. The trick is catching urself before it gets out of hand. Try one night when things rnt quite so bad to have no drink and see how u manage....That could lead to a healthy trend of no longer "needing" to drink..It isnt always easy but its something worth trying.

Re: Part Time Stripper
I know that working in a club can be long and draining. Have you ever thought about getting into private party entertainment? You make just as much if not more some times than a club and you work less hours and usually only weekends. You deal with less drama and many male and female strippers find it to be more fun. I would look into maybe trying something new... call some local stripper agencies that are in your local area.
Hope you have a great weekend... keep your head up things will get better. You just have to believe. Good Luck!
