College Camgirls Support Thread!
After this summer I will be going off to college and living in the dorms. Is it even conceivable to continue camming while living in the dorms? Has anyone done it without being barged in on by roommates or being the victim of awkward conversation explaining what you do?
Or would it be less hassle to pursue finding an apartment and living on my own?
I currently live with my parents and cam late at night after everyone is dead asleep.
Thanks for any and all input! ;D

Re: Camming in college? Dorms?
I did a little bit, but had a single room so did not have to worry about a roommate. It was pretty difficult even like that and I think that some schools can get you in trouble as I am assuming you would be using their internet? Which means they can see the sites you are on etc. I know they are not SUPPOSED to be able to but my friend is in charge of our tech team and he says its really easy to see. I never got in trouble or anything for doing it though just though I would mention it!
Another thing to think about would be getting an off campus place, for me it is SO much cheaper to be off campus in rent, and in terms of food. Sorry I can't be of more help just thought I would tell you what I know!

Re: Camming in college? Dorms?
I would agree when i went to school its so fun yet expensive for dorms after freshman year, You would do great finding a room rented on c.l, some even have private bathrooms and entrances too!

Re: Camming in college? Dorms?
If you're seriously thinking on camming, you should live off campus so you can have your own space, also, I recommend you to check the ISP's that are available in your area. If they have Verizon FiOS, GET THAT!!

Re: Camming in college? Dorms?
Thank you guys sooo much! Sorry it's taken me forever to get back to this thread, life's been crazy.
I found out it's actually a requirement for incoming freshmen to either live at the dorms or live with their parents. I do know who my roommate is going to be so I'm going to talk to her and see what she thinks. I'm also switching camsites (yay no more getting burnt out over hardcore shows!) to onhercam rather than Streamate. I'm going to try to find an apartment by second semester to move into :)
Thanks again! :D

Re: Camming in college? Dorms?
^ how do they know if you live with your parents? that's so weird to me, I don't go to a school like that. Just curious :)

Re: Camming in college? Dorms?
I cammed a little bit and did ALOT of phone sex in my dorm room. That said I am "disabled" and got myself a triple sized single room for the price of a shared dorm. Geez I even had a walk in closet something that I certainly don't have now!
-
Re: Camming in college? Dorms?
Usually you have the option of getting a single room or living with a roommate. I had a single in my first year.
Just lie and say you live with your parents even though you're in an apartment?
For my sister's university, it's a requirement that she lives in residence for all her years though, it's a private one though. That's weird, I wouldn't go to a university like that one though! Hah.

College Camgirls Support Thread!
Are there any other camgirls who are also fulltime students? I'm a college student and trying to figure out how I will balance camming work with classes and college life when school starts again. Maybe I'll just do camming 3 days a week? Who knows... But I want to come up with a gameplan so I can get the highest amount of shows possible within a small amount of time so I will still have time to study and what not. The school I attend is pretty arduous and so I'll have to schedule out my time precisely and wisely. But anyway, I was thinking maybe we could have a support read for the camgirls who are in school part-time, or full-time like me! :) Maybe we can even come up with some ways to get guys to pay for our tuition LOL.

Re: College Camgirls Support Thread!
ME, me, me! This fall willalso be my first time going full-time. Ek! I may als be moving in the next couple months. I get financial aid, so it also helps pay the bills, but i would love to get some men to help pay my tuition!
Hopefully HellenRoxx can provide some insight, as i know she is also a FT student. Thanks for starting this thread. I think about how i am going to make cam and school life work, but never thought to post it!

Re: College Camgirls Support Thread!
Same here. I think I will only cam Tuesday, Thursday, my less strenuous days, and then on Sundays as I have found them to be pretty good traffic wise. As long as I keep it consistent I think I'll be able to keep my earnings up. Honestly I think my job is much easier then my friends who have to work triple the amount I do just to make the money I can in way less hours. I figure if they can fit in 20 hour work weeks I should be able to manage 10 on top of studying. However if my grades drop will lose scholarship so I will definitely cut back during exams and stuff. Glad you started this thread angel :)

Re: College Camgirls Support Thread!
THANKS THANKS THANKS!! I am loooving this thread already!
This year will be my first year -freshman!- and I'm trying to focus on school but since I refuse to be the typical poor college student, I am also going to try to keep camming an option.
The only thing I am trying to figure out is how I'm going to keep it from my roommate lol. I'm going to be staying in the dorms and since I figured I couldn't cam on the school's wifi -not only is it slow but this is grounds for expulsion- I will have to by a wireless air card. Smh. Now the trick is trying to find one of those that can get up to 3mbps lol.
I will also be doing school full time -15 hours- as a chem. major....yeah, we'll see how far this camming thing goes lol.
-
Re: College Camgirls Support Thread!
I'm a college student too. For me the most problematic thing about this is whenever I'm camming I'm feeling guilty thinking "I should be studying", and whenever I'm studying I'm thinking about all the money I should be making...Argh!

Re: College Camgirls Support Thread!
I was a bio-molecular science major for undergrad which is basically chem/biology! So I understand what you are saying in regards to a tough course load. I believe Angel is something along the same lines as well, as long as you manage your time well you will be fine I promise :)

Re: College Camgirls Support Thread!
I'm going to school part-time this fall, and I'll be camming, too. I'd like to attend school full-time, but I'm worried I wouldn't be able to make enough money and stay on top of my grades at the same time. I qualify for financial aid this year, but I won't next year, so I've got to save as much as possible.
My classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays only, so I'm planning to cam Wednesday, Friday and Saturday (with Sundays and Mondays off for rest and studying). We'll see how it goes. If I feel I can handle more, I may go full-time during the spring semester.
Regardless of how many hours you go to school and cam, I think the trick is smart time management (an area in which I don't always succeed.)

Re: College Camgirls Support Thread!
I'll be a junior at uni this fall. Not too worried about balancing, this is way better than when I worked a full time stressful job in the past while going to school. Pretty sure I'm gonna do most of my camming Friday, Saturday and Sunday so I can study more during the week since I'll be taking much more demanding classes.

Most of the people I know gave up on school after their first child..you're doing school after two! Such an inspiration!!! Are there any more mothers who cam and attend school? I think that is just a GREAT choice! Ok..let me calm down lol. I just get so excited to see people in school!

Re: College Camgirls Support Thread!
Thanks for starting this thread! I'm a college sophomore, I attend school 3/4 time and also have another part-time non camming job (managing the apartment building where I live.) It's funny you posted this today because I just finished making some changes to my schedule so camming can fit a little better. I decided to put Spanish on hold for a bit and take an online history class in it's place- both for the schedule flexibility of online, and also to take down the intensity a bit.
I still have two classes I take on campus, MWF, and a study group on campus Tuesday afternoons, and a lot to juggle. I am thinking I am going to set Thursday afternoon through night as a dedicated camming day (and publish it on my schedule so I remain committed to it) I'll cam other times as well whenever I can fit it in, twice a week at least.

Re: College Camgirls Support Thread!
I am a full-time student, too. I will be a senior this year. Once I have registered for my classes, I figure out which days I can work without being too overwhelmed. From there I determine how many hours a week I can handle working. Usually between 10-20 hours. For example:
M: Classes - 11:30 AM - 3:15 PM
T: OFF
W: Classes - 9:00 AM - 11:45 AM
R: OFF
F: Classes - 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM
S: OFF
S: OFF
So, my *camming schedule* would be:
Tuesdays: 4-6 hours
Thursday: 4-6 hours
Sunday: 6-8 hours
I would make SURE that come hell or high water I work at least those three days. That way when my schedule permits, I could easily hop on cam on one of my 'off camming days' to make a few extra bucks.
If I didn't make a schedule, my life would be all over the place.

Re: College Camgirls Support Thread!
Yeay! I like this thread. I am also a college student; going into my senior year (I'm a super senior; what can you expect from going to a ranked party school?!)!!! I'm taking summer classes (all online) right now and OMG I want to kill myself. It's super hard to manage school and camming but I started this new thing where I will cam for 2 hours then do homework for 2 hours and then cam again then homework then cam then homework. I've lost a lot of friends throughout my 4 years so I don't have a lot of friends but the friends I do have are either playboy models or college mansion hotties who know what I do and understand when I have to work. Plus since this is my 5th year, most of my friends hav graduated and have gone back home or have moved, so I just spend most of the time with myself and my boy and my puppy. My social life is basically camming with the occassional outtings with my playboy model bff n then let's not forget school. But yea, so far the on and off camming and school work is really working for me. Usually I would just be like I'm going to cam during this time and then do school work during this time and that went to hell and I would end up watching the kardashians or jerseylicious marathons... lol! That way, I don't get bored as quickly or distracted as much. :-)
When the fall comes, I'm worried my schedule will get thrown off. Some classes I have scheduled, I can't schedule for a later time because its a course specific to my major and they only offer 1 or 2 sections (sucky even when I go to a huge ass school). But, I have yet to finish myschedule and I'm hoping I can somehow get things organized so I can be able to cam since my parents dropped the bomb on me earlier this month about how they can't pay for my tuition/rent/etc anymore (cause they can't financially... mom lost her job 4 years ago n dad is self-employed.. n f*ing brother won't get a job with his degree). So technically, I am on my own and have to become more consistent with camming n stay on top of my work. Its so stressful since I'm expected to go to school, but I feel like I need a break to get more money so I'm not worried about my financials when I should be worried about my studies. Can't wait til graduation in Dec.!

Re: College Camgirls Support Thread!
WooHoo! What a college camming cult we have here. I only have classes TR, so i will work MWF with weekends to myself. Im hoping my fiance we get approved for a home loan so we can get this house we have our eyes on. Then i would have my own space to cam and wouldnt be restricted.to hours he is at work-we currently rent a studio apartment... blah! We are also trying to get pregnant, and planning a wedding. All on one consistent income is hard enough, and he is constantly stressed. I hope traffic picks up in fall so i start to make more.

Re: College Camgirls Support Thread!
Yup! I'm going for Fall semester! Not sure if I want to do full time though :/
I made a schedule working 5 days a week this summer but once school rolls around I might still just cam before/after school when my bf isn't home hehe :)

Re: College Camgirls Support Thread!
I found that when I was in college and had a heavy courseload, it was good for me to wake up and work early in the morning before school, as opposed to later in the day. (I'm on the East Coast, by the way)... there would always be this great early morning rush coming along as the sun rose across the country (US), and it was a great start to my day to have made $100-$200 before even leaving out for school. That really made for great days in class! Then, after school I could come home and take a nap, or do whatever I wanted, and like a normal college student, I could spend my nights/evenings doing homework (or partying) :)
I see women saying how hard it's going to be to balance camming with undergrad but honestly camming is one of the easiest ways to support yourself while in college, hands down.
