checking the CPU usage on a macbook?
Does anyone here know how to do this? I have a macbook pro that runs OS X 10.6.5, processor is 2.4 GHz intel core duo 2. I subscribe to fiber optic internet (faster then broadband), but only get an upload speed of .85 mbps as apparently I am not located close to a "central office" according to my ISP.
I notice when I use the HD encoder my computer overworks and get too hot, furthermore my cam starts to lag (I don't see this on my end, but my customers get the lag. I checked by going into my own free chat and saw how bad it is!).
I would like to be able to check my CPU usage and how to adjust appropriately so that my HD cam on streamate works well!
Thanks girls!
BTW I am on streamate.
Re: checking the CPU usage on a macbook?
Ok I found out how to check the CPU, it seems it is consuming around 76% when I use the encoder. Is this alright?
