Are you always buying the same brand of shoes? I don't dance full-time so I'm sure that has extended their life span, but I've been using the same pair for about a year now. Still, 5 pairs in 10 months (that's a new pair of shoes every 2 months!) seems a bit excessive. Try a different brand.
Are you wearing the same pair all the time?
I buy essie shoes (that's the brand) and that seems to be the only brand I can find around where I live . After a couple months the rubber soles start to wear down , then rip a bit .
Their shoes clearly aren't the best fit for you if you're plowing through them so fast. I wear Pleaser shoes and have no problems with em. Can you order online? I recall seeing a SW discount code for snaz75.com.
This. Plus... having them re-soled... the sole typically lasts longer the 2nd time around.
Also... you should email the company and tell them that their shoes are falling apart on you after such a short time, see if they'll replace them/resole them for free, ect.
Hi there
I have a business that sells exotic items and this includes shoes.
I definatly would contact the manufacuture if you can locate them .. as a manufacturer of outfits I would want to know there was a problem. and they may send you a free pair or want to see what the problem is to address it.. :)
I sell alot of the Ellie and Pleasure shoes have alot of the ellie brand on my site...
You can check them out if you want
You can email me as well at
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help :)

I love the way Pleaser shoes fit but some of them are very over priced, some are not. The ONLY issue I've ever had with my 3 pairs of Pleaser shoes is that the ankle straps break after a few months, aside from that the soles stay in great condition. I would recommend Pleaser brand shoes overall as well.
I always have to have the zippers in my boots replaced almost right after I get them new and then the new one's from the shoe repair place last forever. =)
They make them cheap because they want us to buy more, so I always see what I can do to exteeeend the life of all my dance footwear.
:P
I'm sure you can find many places near you, some of them may be like, "um... we don't do those..." just find a good place that wants your business.
I wear pleaser 8" shoes and I find that I have to replace them every six months even after I made them more durable around the plastic areas by putting heavy duty hard glue around the part of the straps that connect to the shoe itself. That way the straps dont tear off as fast but they still do.
I agree with Pleaser being a good brand, I've had the same pair for over a year and am only now needing to replace them because of just too much wear and tear, but they are the only shoes I've worn dancing the entire time.
yes..same as everyone else....i danced full time and my ellie and pleasure shoes lasted yrs....but i dont stomp or clang lolololol...i worked with a girl that flew thru shoes because of her aggressive routines lol
pleaser and tony shoes work for me, standard black ones with the strap.
depends how hard you work them. if you do lots of pole and grueling floor work might break them down a little. my friend puts them on after showers shows with moist feet thats been breaking down the inside of her shoes really fast. or if theyre inclosed, sweating in them heaps whilst working out heavily on poles speed up the process.
rotate your shoes, dont drag your feet and i find wearing socks also help
Most full time dancers will wear out a new pair of heels in 2-3 months, depending how much they wear them and how hard they are on them.
I have these same exact problems with my shoes:
I came up with the thread searching for shoes with durable soles. Doing a sexy sort of foot-drag thing is one of my basic little non-pole dance move thingies and I tend to be on my toes a lot, so I really do tear the soles off--my new boots had the sole ripped off within 3 wears. Super glue doesn't hold them even for one more wear. I wear 7" Pleaser shoes (the rubber soles peel off, foot bed tears off of platform, and ankle straps loosen after about ten nights)--but I find Ellie too heavy--they are really noticeably heavier and make it much harder for me to lift my feets up and over my head on the pole. However, the Ellie sole seems much more compatible with foot work and long-term usage.
I'm taking my Pleasers to get resoled, I suppose. Hope it's worth it...wish I could find a brand that combined the light-weight aspect of Pleaser with the nice sole that Ellie has.

There is a great debate among dancers as to which brand is better, Ellie or Pleaser. I find each shoe is made for a different type of foot. Dancers who have slender feet tend to prefer Pleaser.
I used to sell Pleaser but too many of them fell apart on me. Specifically, the ankle strap tore out or the platform would fall off. The manufaturer won't replace shoes that have been worn but I warranty the shoes I sell to my girls. I couldn't afford to lose anymore, so I switched to Ellie.
Ellie shoes are far more comfortable than Pleaser. The sole is thicker. I can't attest to the weight, but no one I sell to has problems doing pole tricks with them. I have noticed the soles wear down easy, but only for certain girls, so I'm guessing it's the way they dance.
I hope you find a comfortable, long-lasting pair of shoes. I sell mostly Ellie Brand shoes if you want to stick with them. My site is www.femmeexotic.com Plus I offer 10% off SW customers. Enter STRIPWEB at checkout to receive the discount.
