Dancing in Europe vs Amercia, stripper names etc :)
Hi everyone!
I’m a swedish dancer and I’ve been stripping for a while in Europe. I’m planning to move to the US soon and I’m considering dancing there too, so now I have a few questions. I hope someone can help me J
I need a new stage name (I’ve been using my real name) and possibly a “fake real” name too!
I want to use a swedish name, I’m hoping it could be considered a bit exotic :-\ but I can’t find a sexy one! My friend suggested Frieda / Frida. And “Inga from sweden” sounds to obviously stereotypical! Or even Ingrid. And they might be known swedish names but they’re actually old ladies names…
I could also borrow a name from a famous swedish person like Elin (Tiger Woods’s wife). I need a name that would sound sexy and scandinavian to the american ear :)
Any suggestions?
Also, let me know if you guys have any questions about Europe!

Re: Dancing in Europe vs Amercia, stripper names etc :)
What about Freya? Or maybe it's spelt Freja... I knew someone with that name, always thought it was pretty. Here's a website I trawled when thinking of stage names http://www.20000-names.com/female_swedish_names.htm
Also I'm interested in what it's like to dance in Europe and America. I'm in the UK which seems to be no touching everywhere (contact lap dance, guys can't touch you at all). What's it like on the continent? I get the impression that in europe the guys can touch...

Re: Dancing in Europe vs Amercia, stripper names etc :)
Oh, I like it! Thanks! It's very nordic sounding :)
Usually it's very clean around northern Europe, no touching but I believe at some smaller clubs it might be up to the girl. The club policy might be no touching but if it's ok with the girl its ok with the management.
They do sometimes have cameras in the private rooms/booths so you'll be "protected" that way.
I never worked in southern europe but I've heard some clubs in Spain for example might look like a lap dancing club or whatever but it's actually a brothel! So ask around I guess what's expected of the girl.

Re: Dancing in Europe vs Amercia, stripper names etc :)
The clubs I've worked in in the south of spain, the French alps, Paris and Norway have all been very clean. Not all have cameras, but where there are no cameras there is a bouncer to peek through the curtains and make sure were safe. You should pop over sometime :) have a working holiday :)

annaliese, linnea.
I have used annaliese as my "fake real name" before, now I've just shortened it to anna.
Where in the US are you wanting to work?
-
Re: Dancing in Europe vs Amercia, stripper names etc :)
If you're blonde go somewhere like El Paso TX where there are a ton of Mexicans. They will be lining up for you like they line up for free government cheese!
Trust me on this Mexicans like blondes. If they get handsy bust out some berserker Valkyrie ass kicking moves! :D
I'm half Mexican but I don't do very well with them. I'm too short, dark, and mean.

Short answer - its not easy. At all. In fact, finding a legal way to do this is damn near impossible. If you are able to work as a feature dancer (i.e. touring on stage) you can sometimes find an agency to hire you and get a visa through them, but a lot of them are scams. Honestly, girls I know who are european and working in the US are doing so illegally (working without a visa).
I'm still on the hunt for a legal way to do this - at the moment, I am thinking of trying to get an artists visa for the US (I am a tattoo artist) and seeing how the intricacies of that work - if there is any possiblity of having it include dancing (I'm not hopeful). I'm also looking into the legality of working as an artist on an artist's visa, and then camming - seeing if there is a way to do that.
The day I figure out how to do it legally, you can bet I'll be shouting it from the rooftops on here!!!

Thank you so much guys!
I'm in LA now and I have no idea how to do this. I will have to find a place that doesn't require fingerprints or passport or anything...Seems impossible

Re: Dancing in Europe vs Amercia, stripper names etc :)
...and to be honest LA might not be the easiest place...
I'm petite and blonde but so are a lot of people here and i don't have big fake boobs...

There are a lot of undocumented women working in the strip clubs in Miami. But making money out here is not easy and extras are a norm.

Re: Dancing in Europe vs Amercia, stripper names etc :)
Have you considered Astrid? I first heard that name in the book White Oleander.
Yeah and LA... Definitely not the easiest spot, girl. Good luck to you.

We have a very large percentage of Euro girls here in Chicago -but they tend to do very, very well. We also don't do contact for the most part here. So thats nice
