Post Pictures of Your Art
This is a drawing I did. The lighting is a little funny (the hair doesn't look different from the rest of the drawing in the original), and it's not quite finished, but you get the idea.
The one behind it is another, much bigger drawing I did of a complex of buildings next to a river up near Chicago--I will take a picture of it later but it really needs special lighting for that.

^^^Great use of light and shadow in those charcoal drawings.

I haven't done so much with mixed media like this, more just using colored pencil to give finishing touches to a painting/illustration (which worked so well I added more highlights etc. and it was very effective). But I like the idea a lot.

Most of what we now about Greek sculpture actually comes from Roman 'copies'. They had a different attitude about 'copying' back then. If it looks good and you did it yourself, it doesn't matter how closely it 'copies' what you were taking it from. When we do a portrait, for instance, we are 'copying' that person's face. ;D
This idea that you shouldn't ever 'copy' anything is one of the reasons the Modern Art world is filled with such incomprehensible garbage. All they care about is that it's 'different', not so much that it's any good, or looks like anything you can recognize...
Iconoclasm run amok.

Here is a work in progress. I thought this would be a quick & easy way to get back into the Art (it's been 7 years), but trying to draw all those hair patterns in the fur is fucking killing me! The second picture is the photograph I am working from.

That picture is a little dark though. I am drawing the cat slightly darker, but it looks more like the photo than seems apparent here
Re: Post Pictures of Your Art
That is a very good drawing!

I've been working on a painted version of this one, but at the rate I'm going it will be a few years before it's finished.
