Tips on opening a live cam studio?
Well first I would like to introduce myself. My name is Nikki and Im new to SW. (Well I've always read the forums but never made an account)... Anyways to make a long story short... I plan on opening a cam studio/studio for PSO's in Sacramento Ca and I was having trouble researching information on how to do that. If any of you have any information or advice or where I should start I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much. ( My main question is I can just lease any property and have my models work there? And the legal aspects) Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck camming girls!

I don't think you are gonna find much information about it here, because here in Stripper web we are against studios!

I think what this post is talking about though is very different than those online fake studios.
If this is a physical location to go to work and they are providing all the equipment it would be worth it to a lot of hosts who can not work from home or who would prefer not to.
Re: Tips on opening a live cam studio?
I dont think its really safe, can you imagine going out of the studio and a pervert is waiting for you outside. Plus, I remember I tried to apply for an studio like that and they offer to pay me .80 cents a minute.
Re: Tips on opening a live cam studio?
^ just because that studio paid crap doesnt mean this one will. Have faith that ppl will try to make things better and IMPROVE as time moves forward.
Re: Tips on opening a live cam studio?
@ Laurie Legs that's exactly what Im talking about! I hear so many of my friends say that they don't want to cam at home for whatever reasons or other people who don't have the means like the computer, cam or internet.. but I'm lost on how to go about it I suppose I should contact an attorney for the legal aspects. Thanks though
Re: Tips on opening a live cam studio?
2 routes to take I think.
1, Lease a property and invite your friends to use the facilities. No legal side to it. Go by word of mouth and keep your activity low.
2, Lease somewhere, get the legal side sorted out as you may be regarded as an employer and advertise your business properly.
I would probably start off with number 1, work out all the kinks then slowly move onto number 2.
Re: Tips on opening a live cam studio?
Yes, I would try to run it from a home-location rather than lease a business property, unless it was some type of warehouse or anywhere else where the foot-traffic is low. It also depends on how much money you have on start up, how many girls you plan on having there at one time, and I would certainly think about talking to a lawyer for things like business license, local legalities, etc.
I do know there is a physical cam studio in California (I'm guessing LA) that is on SM. All of the backgrounds/sofas/etc. are very similar for all the females.. So I'm guessing it's not going to be a huge issue out there, but best to talk to a lawyer first.
I would try to start out small with maybe 3 girls per shift.. you will need business class internet service, lighting, furniture, PCs, webcams (but preferably p/t/z cams), bathroom facilities, perhaps even some type of small kitchenette, someone who knows about tech support for those PCs and internet, and you will also need to keep 2257 records on all your girls (copy of ID and release forms).
Good Luck!
Re: Tips on opening a live cam studio?
One possibility is to think of it as providing a service to independent camgirls, because you'll be offering them the space and privacy and resources to do their work. So you could rent the workspaces out per shift or per day, rather than run it like a studio by taking a percentage of their earnings. That way, you're in a position to simply be a resource provider (which could work for other industries as well) rather than someone running a camgirl network.
Re: Tips on opening a live cam studio?
You would have to have a SOB license. LOL no joke. Means Sexual forget the middle word then Business. Permits to build out.
Insurance
Some areas have zoning issues with any kind of sexual based businesses.
Any cam company you work with will help you with all the in's & out's of starting one up.
But expenses run up quick. Building rooms, computers, internet, cams, beds, chairs, couches what ever. You will need a fulltime person to be there 24/7 to keep the place running smoothly, keep the models working instead of chatting on their phones. Plus preventing any theft.
Hardest part will be finding girls to work. Many may have reasons they cant do it from home, but most say it because they are lazy. If truly motivated they could have rented a small studio apt to work from cheap.
Then once hiring them.
Getting them to do a schedule and stick to it. Showing up on time or at all. Most newbies only last 2 weeks. So you will be constantly interviewing new girls. The drama between models or the boyfriends/husbands bringing drama to the office. Girls wanting to borrow money till pay day.
There is alot to deal with a business. The initial investment is huge, especially if have never done this before.
Try recruiting models & get the refferal fees 1st to see if your able to convince gals to do this an stick with it before opening up a studio.
Good Luck,
Sam
