Camgirl proof of income?!
After being unemployed for about 2 months, I started camming about a month ago, in order to get my own apartment. I have a deadline of Sep 1st to move.
How can I provide proof of income to the apartment complex I want to live in? What should my cover job be to them? If you use bank statements, they want to see a few months worth of income, and I haven't been at this very long. Most of my money won't even start rolling in until after I move. But I can't afford to wait a few more months to move, I need to be in my own place Sep 1st. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Re: Camgirl proof of income?!
Usually 3 months worth of rent works.

Re: Camgirl proof of income?!
if they will allow just a number or something get someone to pretend they're you're boss. I'd do it but i sound like a little ass girl.

Re: Camgirl proof of income?!
You can always say you're self-employed :)

When I said I was self employed they asked to see my last 2 years of filed taxes. I agree with 2 or 3 months of advance rent depending on the apartment complex.

If you have 3 check stubs that can work....

Re: Camgirl proof of income?!
im a bad girl...i'll tell you what i did.
I had only been camming for a month when I needed to move so I scanned a copy of the paper the bank sends me when i receive a wire transfer. then edited it in the computer(to change the dates and the amount a little to make it look real).i made 6 different ones (2 for each month for a total of 3 months prior) and printed them out on some thick paper and mailed it to them.

I did something similar with my apartment I'm moving to. Had 2 bad weeks so I had to 'alter' them to meet income requirment on my half,

Re: Camgirl proof of income?!
That is totally bitching.
I told my building manager I was self employed, she pressed, I said I was a dominatrix, she didn't press anymore. That and a $4,600 cashier's check on hand while waiting for my credit score to bounce back helped.

Dominatrix. I LOVE that!

My husband is a graphic designer and does this for me often! haha I had to show proof of working full-time for daily childcare so he did that. Also getting on a lease. Good stuff :)

Re: Camgirl proof of income?!
self employment is proof of money coming into your bank account or better yet on your prepaid card.
Money talks....remember that. :) Cash especially.

Re: Camgirl proof of income?!
I don't want to piss on anyone's party but you need to be careful about falsifying documents. I'm currently a paralegal student so I get into law related topics pretty heavily and trust me, this CAN get you into BIG legal trouble.
Essentially you are defrauding the apartment complex.
And Khamille, as an example not trying to call you out, you mention you had to prove full time work for daily child care... I hope this was not for state aid child care (if you're going to create false documents the last thing you want to do is provide them to a state agency), but even if it was for private child care you are technically defrauding who ever it was that you provided those documents to.
Basically, don't do it. It's NOT worth it. It would be better to provide bank statements showing deposits or switch your payment method to paper check for a few weeks so you can get some paper statements to bring in. If you've been camming a while you can also bring in tax returns to show self employment. Also, don't be afraid of honesty. You might be surprised. Offer to bring in several months rent in advance or pay a larger deposit.

Re: Camgirl proof of income?!
I'm a big fan of honesty - when I was stripping, my apartment managers used to love it! They knew that I would always be able to pay rent. I also liked to stress the fact that I was working nights, so I wouldn't be at home making noise, that I slept in, so I wouldn't make noise in the mornings, and that I didn't party, because I was so sick of being out "partying" for work!
For camming, I would say that you are newly self-employed as a cam girl, (saying that it is new explains why you do not have taxes filed) and offer them rent in advance, or a higher damage deposit. You should be fine.

I tried being honest with 2 places but they weren't having it. I was 18 with no rental history and no credit. i needed good proof of income or i wasn't getting a place to live.

Re: Camgirl proof of income?!
I fudge paperwork like that all the time. They don't need to see your actual personal bank statements and it is SO easy to fudge the bank statements you download from your online banking. They don't need to be printed on any special paper since they're obviously just downloaded statements.
Tell the apartment people when they ask for income "I've only been at this a few months so I don't have tax returns yet, but I can download my last 6 bank statements for you."
You can download the last few months of bank statements, change the deposit amounts AND the beginning / ending balances, and there ya go. Just copy numbers used on the statements and paste them where you want them to go, so the fonts match. Make sure your numbers are aligned! Print them out and take them to the apartment people.
For those who don't have Photoshop to do this, Gimp is FREE and works on both PC and Mac.
I would NOT tell these people anything about adult business. They don't need to know and they may discriminate against you - it happens everyday. I say I do internet marketing and consulting.
Have your full deposit and 1st month's rent (and last if required) ready to pay. I've never been turned down this way.

Re: Camgirl proof of income?!
When I say to be honest, I mean as far as being self employed goes. You don't have to be so honest as to say "Oh I'm a cam girl. What's that? Basically I fuck myself on cam for money all day." Creating an imaginative title is harmless as opposed to actually downloading bank documents, editing them, and thereby making them false.
If you don't have the tax info to give then offer up a bank statement, extra deposit money, first couple months rent etc. as opposed to falsifying documents. This actually IS illegal and has a very likely possibility of catching up with you. It may take you longer find an apartment, but being honest in the process will save you much more potential hassle down the road.
Being 18 with no rental history and no credit history is more likely to get you turned down for an apartment than your current job is. And for good reason. The apartment complex has to protect itself from people who are a high risk.

Re: Camgirl proof of income?!
i don't really see the problem with faking documents if you know you can pay your rent. i have paid on time every single month for 3 years straight. no one wanted to rent to me because i didn't have the right proof so i faked it. i honestly think what i did was pretty harmelss. its not like i decided to lie and say i made 20,000 a month so i could rent a 7,000 a month apartment.
and seriously..my choice was be homeless or fake documents...duhhh easy choice

Re: Camgirl proof of income?!
^Ya. It's one thing to fudge some bank statements so you can rent an apartment to live in, that you can afford. The likelihood of getting caught from that is about nil. It's not like we're suggesting anyone fudge documents for the purpose of stealing or cheating.
Besides, the people who are going to take this too far (and subsequently get themselves in trouble) don't need to be told how to do this. They already know or figure it out on their own. We're just trying to help girls find a way to get a place to live, who otherwise can't. Sometimes it doesn't pay to be too honest. Sometimes honest people just need a little fudge to get what they need ;)
When I have fudged my bank statements, I actually DID have the income, more than enough, and for years. My problem was that it's split over different accounts at different banks, so no one account or bank shows enough income to qualify for a rental. Rather than print out all those separate statements and have them questioning why I have my money split up like that (and turning me down because it looks "suspicious" - yes this happens too), I just did some quick editing on the statements of one account. That was actually quicker than printing out all those separate statements would've been. And more environmentally friendly. LOL

Re: Camgirl proof of income?!
Thank you everyone for replying! I wish it were as simple as coughing up extra dough, but like I said, I am working with a deadline, and I haven't been doing this very long. I will only have enough to pay for one month, and maybe a deposit. I'm thinking at this point, I will sub-let someone's apt for a few months in order to save up a big chunk to put down on my dream apt, but I still need to go thru the application process even to sub-let. I have a friend who owns a business and has agreed to vouch for me and provide paystubs, so I'm contemplating doing that.- Lacey

Re: Camgirl proof of income?!
I've been and currently still on flat hunting again and I tell them straight away I don't currently have a job or that i have some earnings coming in but i cant provide any proof, but i can pay months of rent in advance with no problem whatsoever:
some agencies are totally down, other dont even wanna deal with someone who doesnt have a proof of steady income.
In the last case i just skip them, i personally have no options.
Anyway i wish it goes well with your friends agreement, i know this stuff is super annoying!

Re: Camgirl proof of income?!
is there anyone who is willing to sign as your guarantor/co-signer?
i'm in a similar situation (currently repairing my credit, last year's tax return looks awful because i lost my - very not lucrative - job a few months before i started camming, had to move this month, etc.) and i've always used a guarantor. it's a pain in the ass because i have very few people in my life who are qualified (make enough money) and are willing to do it, and also because most places i've lived expect it to be your parents and i am an orphan, but i've never defaulted on rent so i can sometimes find a friend or get my fiance to do it.
i'm hoping next year that i'll either have better proof of income or be able to put up a huge deposit so i can just get the damn thing in my name instead, but if you are worried about forging documents and you DO have a friend, boyfriend, family member, etc. who is willing, having a guarantor can cut out a lot of the bullshit.
