SM HD Encoder! Help!
For the last few days, my traffic has basically become non-existent and I finally figured out why - The HD Icon is not showing up beside my name. Well, it shows up for the first one to two minutes I'm logged in, and then it disappears, along with the audio Icon.
I know other people have had this issue, and I tried searching the forum, but I didn't find anything helpful. I tried checking and unchecking the deinterlace button, but it didn't help either way. Also, I uninstalled and reinstalled the encoder from the SM website and quadruple-checked the settings. I have the fastest cable internet connection available in my area, so I know that's not the problem.
Another thing that's strange, is that the rotating picture on my profile while streaming looks all pixelated and fuzzy and it isn't even the most recent picture after the icons disappear.
Has anyone else with this problem been able to fix it successfully? I've emailed SM but haven't heard back yet. This is so frustrating because I need to make money this week! Please help!

Re: SM HD Encoder! Help!
There seriously are a million threads on this. I know because I have been having this problem for weeks. You probably need a new computer. That was my problem...

Re: SM HD Encoder! Help!
I just bought this computer three months ago. It's brand new with a 3.4 gHz dual core AMD 511 processor. I know there are a lot of threads, but I was hoping someone may have some new information. :)

Re: SM HD Encoder! Help!
eek how's your graphics card?
lower your bitrate settings on the encoder as that will likely help
also, my HD icon goes after I have been logged in for a few mins, but then returns again about 10mins later so stick with it :)

Re: SM HD Encoder! Help!
i have an amd dual core and it's awful for camming (amd in general seems to be shit for camming). i'm hoping to get a new computer with a pentium core i processor asap.
the hd icon usually drops if you're dropping frames or your streaming quality isn't good enough. so it could be your internet connection as well - if your connection is bouncing at all it can cause the hd icon to drop and your placement to suffer.
one thing that may help with the snapshot problem is asking streamate support to set your snapshot to stay as your static profile pic. i prefer that anyway because the snapshots that used to come up were always super unflattering, lol.

Re: SM HD Encoder! Help!
^totally agree - if you can plug a wire in to your internet that will help
on a side note, my new computer arrived today! (I was having trouble with the HD encoder because of my processor) - got a new i5 so fingers crossed for later!!! (so excited!!!)

Re: SM HD Encoder! Help!
Thanks so much guys! My graphics card is awesome. I just bought it with the new computer, but I wish I would've bought a Pentium processor instead of an AMD. That's likely the problem.
Anyway, I took your suggestion, BritishBecky, and lowered the bitrate settings. That seemed to help a lot. My icon is actually staying up for longer than 2 minutes now. I think I had it much too high because I figured my new computer and internet connection could handle it. Guess I was wrong!
I also emailed streamate support and asked for the static picture, so I hope they respond soon. Yeah, the rotating snapshot always looks like crap. I hate that feature!
Anyway, thanks again for your help! Oh and good luck with your new computer!! :)
