If you live/work in Florida please read me!
Hi girls! I'm currently living in Miami, but I don't want to stay here. I was sticking around because of school, but I'm giving up on going to UM. I want to move to a smaller town that has a decent school, but I don't know where. I can't leave Florida because my GI Bill won't cover out of state tuition. I have thought about Gainesville because FU is there, and it is much, much smaller than Miami.
I want to move from here because I want to keep dancing but the extras and prostitution are out of hand, no matter what club you're at. I also just want to be in a place where there is less crime, I have a one year old girl and I don't want to raise her here.
Like I said, I'm looking for a smaller town with a decent school, and strip clubs to find work at (no brothels).
Thank you all for your help :)

Re: If you live/work in Florida please read me!
^ Tampa has usf but I would not reccomend it for dancing unless you could work at mons or thee doll house those are the only two clubs i'd reccomend. Other than that key west has good money potential and lower mileage but no school and west palm has rachels but I am not sure if there is a school near there. Oh also fort myers ( not sure if there is a school there) has a good little club there thats really good money in season and since there are no clubs in anples it gets all the naples=money guys in season.

Re: If you live/work in Florida please read me!
The towns that have both strip clubs and public colleges (were you really gonna go to UM? You know it's private and VERY expensive, right?) are....
Tampa-This is your best option. Lots of club and USF is here
Orlando-Not a great option club-wise, but UCF is here
Ft Myers-Some clubs and FGCU is here
Jacksonville-Not lots of club options....but there a few....and UNF is here...
Pensacola-Similar to Ft Myers....UWF
Those are really your only options outside of So Fla. Gainesville has ONE strip club nearby, and it sucks, so I'd rule that out. There are none in Tallahassee, so that's out.

Re: If you live/work in Florida please read me!
I liked FSU when I was going there, and visited and worked in Panama City on the weekends (I wasn't stripping though). PC also has the military bases there to help with income.
Pensacola was also nice, and had friends that worked and lived there.
Fort Myers was ok. I went to visit three different SCs there, and they were alright and had a steady stream of customers. Guys were buying dances too and tippin well. Naples is where my husband's family lives, and so we stay there. A lot of people from naples go to Ft Myers cause there isn't a lot in Naples.

Re: If you live/work in Florida please read me!
^ Yes that's why in season you can bank in that club in ft.myers. I would chose ft. myers over tampa because unless you work at mons or thee doll house there is more money in ft myers. Though I am in a high end area of pinellas county not tampa. Not fond of tampa.

Re: If you live/work in Florida please read me!
I live in Orlando and go to school at UCF. The clubs here suck, but I drive to Cocoa Beach and Tampa for work. I like that I am close enough to drive to both, but I'm not sure how great Cocoa Beach will be dancing-wise with the shuttle program over. Right now it sucks, but it's summer. I'm just waiting to see how good the good season gets.
I like Tampa and do better out there, but I work at Mons. I don't know how the other clubs are out there really, but from my very limited experience not very good so I belive what michelle11 was saying. I do wish it was a little closer, but it's not too bad and I go with a friend so that helps.
If you want to dance without having to drive more than 45 to work, Orlando probably isn't the place for you.
Anyway if you do end up picking Orlando let me know. I am always looking for ladies to carpool with!

You went to FSU? Me too. Didn't know there was another Nole on the board.

Right now IMO Jacksonville has the cleanest clubs for Florida with the most money potential, with a decent college.
UNF is a really good school.
It's more laid back here and while there is a good amount of crime it's mostly in areas you wouldn't want to live in anyway. I find it to be vastly different than south florida but in a good way. there are still things to do and the beaches are nice. Seriously, for what you are looking for, as well as the dancing I can't think of any where else that offers both without having to travel to work.

Re: If you live/work in Florida please read me!
^ Jacksonville still has good money in the clubs to be made? I thought there were tons of threads in the last few years saying it was hard to make 300-500( which in season in ft. myers and tampa at the clubs I mentioned) you can make double that. If so tht's one place in florida I've always wanted to work but haven't?

Re: If you live/work in Florida please read me!
^ I also thought that was why you retired( because money had gone down so much) I also meant to say I heard it was hard to make 300-4 average not 5. Sorry to threadack but it's relevant info.

FSU has a campus in Panama City. You can switch it up and drive to Pensacola or Dothan, too. I worked at a few strip clubs there over the years and did pretty well. Extras are impossible at the club that I worked, but you can pay to leave.

When I was attending, they were just building the PC campus. Totally forgot about that. :) I only went for 3 semesters, then transferred out here to Colorado Springs.

Re: If you live/work in Florida please read me!
I've narrowed it down (not really) to Pensacola, Jacksonville, Tampa or Fort Myers. I like Pensacola because of the military community.
I'm going to use the next three day weekend to make a trip to one of the towns above and check them out. In the mean time I will do more research and would love to hear more from you ladies who have worked in any of these cities.
The GI Bill covers a portion of what the tuition is but UM also participates in the Yellow Ribbon program which covers whatever the GI Bill won't. You have to have good grades to qualify for this. My GPA right now is 3.86 but for the last semester was 4.0 (yeaaaaaa I'm bragging I'm proud of myself :D)

Re: If you live/work in Florida please read me!
As a customer living in Orlando i wouldn't bother going anywhere but Tampa, it is actually close enough to UCF that it shouldn't take you more than 45 mins to get there.

I retired because my husband got a huge promotion and raise and I decided to stay home :)
Also, yes my money had gone down but that was pretty much my fault. I became lazy. I mean I danced on and off for over 25 years you know.It was time.
There is defiantly still money here. If you want to pm me (Michele) that's fine I still have friends at my old club and I don't want them over run.
I don't recall any threads that were negative, but then again like i said i have friends still there and may have just ignored them.;)

If you are interested in military community, Jacksonville is a huge Navy town.

No but the GI bill, IIRC, won't pay umlimited college expenses. There is a limit of around $47K total. UM tuition/fees alone is over $19k/semester for a full time student. For 4 years of college, that's $152,000 and that doesn't include room, board, books, and other living expenses.
I hope my post has helped you to understand why I asked that question.

keep in mind the hustle in the clubs is just as competitive and as hard as miami. a good portion of the clubs allow some prostitution too.

Competition I'm not afraid of, working hard I've always done and have no fear of either. I haven't even been there yet but I am sure it is not worse or even as bad as Miami. There are no strip clubs in Miami, just brothels. But thank you for your warning. I just want to work in a place where I'm not expected to have sex for money, which I basically am here in Miami.
IF YOU LIVE IN TAMPA and know of a single dancing mom who isn't a junky and is interested in sharing an apartment with another non-junky single dancing mom, please private message me!!!

Re: If you live/work in Florida please read me!
^ There is more money in the clubs in miami, what velvet meant to say is not that there's lots of competition because of looks.........it's how dirty the clubs are here. As I said I travel to dance but I dances here for years and the only clubs I would recomend that aren't whore houses are like 3 mons, thee doll house and penthouse but there isn't big money at penthouse. Hell though you may like 2001 but imo it's just as bad as any club in miami.
