New ImLive "Pump Your Earnings Campaign" (privacy risk)
If you work for ImLive and are based in the US (we can debate the merits or problems of this in another thread) & you do not tell customers your real town and state: disable their latest campaign as the town & state listed on your payout details are used in their latest promo initiative.
Also if you block areas, those areas will not be blocked.
And men who are within 50miles of your (real) location who are registered on their promo initiative will be contacted by "you" on your behalf within seconds of it being activated. Mine has been slammed with views.
If you accidentally enabled this feature and are scrambling - change all of the first 6 of your "what free members/guests see" pictures on ImLive to pics that do not have your face visible until CS removes it.
update: apparently you can change your location through profile details, so I did since my promo is still live. But it went back to my original (aka real) location when I logged in and then out again. ymmv. be ware that changing your profile location after the fact does not undo ImLive contacting every male from your original location. Once you enable it aka click "boost your earnings", every local guy is contacted to alert them to your profile. Also the link that CS is giving out for you to get a commission for each guest conversion does not even work (either it is blocked or it just sends the person to ImLive's main page - not your host page) so you're not financially benefiting from this either.

Re: New ImLive "Pump Your Earnings Campaign" (privacy risk)
This...is bullshit.
IMLive is grating my nerves so hard, seriously hard with all of these stupid sister sites and marketing campaigns they keep having. This is beyond beyond...yeah, as if I want local guys trying to hit me up, or any guys I know locally that are on dating sites finding me this way.
I hate this!!!
Please do...tell what sites this is on so I can check to see if my profile is on any of them?

Re: New ImLive "Pump Your Earnings Campaign" (privacy risk)
^No, I just clicked the icon to 'enable it' (but it doesnt say 'enable it' exactly - it says something else, I dont remember... I clicked it to learn more information but no real information is provided), then I got a prompt that saying that my profile could not be created and to contact CS
So, I ignored it like I do for most of their campaigns, and kept it moving.
Then on the main page there is a new black square called "pump up your earnings" - and I saw a bunch of "new notifications", so I clicked it, and lo and behold my profile was suddenly created... and I had winks and profile views, etc.

Re: New ImLive "Pump Your Earnings Campaign" (privacy risk)
They must be getting desperate. Now they are pimping the girls on a dating site? What like AFF? Where if the guys can't get real pussy, there's always a camgirl to fill in temporarily and be hounded for real meets (really, nothing new..perhaps just MORE of it)...

Re: New ImLive "Pump Your Earnings Campaign" (privacy risk)
First off that is bullshit, on ImLive's end.
Now on my host page on the left hand side there is Pump Up your Earnings Box, right above the Message from Silvia box. You may be able to turn it off from there. When I saw the huge pop up at log in I clicked no thanks, and the Pump Up your Earnings Box says I have not added that feature. try turning it off from there maybe. Also how did you see your dating site profile? What site was it on? I want to double check myself. Thanks for alerting us Roast.

Re: New ImLive "Pump Your Earnings Campaign" (privacy risk)
Thanks Roast. Seriously my heart just started beating faster as I read your post. I hate how these companies don't respect the fact we want to protect our privacy in our state smh.

Re: New ImLive "Pump Your Earnings Campaign" (privacy risk)
ok i attached a picture of what i see...i didn't ever click on "pump up my earnings"
it doesn't look to me like i am in it.
also...lets not mention the sites here to avoid any random guys being like really let me go see what cam girls are in my area :O if you log into imlive u will see it on the big campain that pops up it has 4 or 5 site logos on the bottom
-
Re: New ImLive "Pump Your Earnings Campaign" (privacy risk)
God Roast Im sorry to hear this...I havnt clicked on any of this stuff, so hopefully I dont have anything like this created anywhere. I hope they take it all down for you asap because this is just insane....
And yeah, it reeks of desperation. I still occasionally worked on there, but seriously, if this is the level they have to stoop to, screw that site.

Re: New ImLive "Pump Your Earnings Campaign" (privacy risk)
I saw desperation when sexier.com popped up. But this is pushing it even further!

You're right actually...I retract my question...no one name any of the sites!
Lord...this sucks. And US girls only? Yeah, before long it will only be girls in the Ukraine and Africa on ImLive..as it is, guys have a hard time believing Im American and ask me stupid geography and us history questions. >:(

Hottie is right. We shouldn't name sites.

Re: New ImLive "Pump Your Earnings Campaign" (privacy risk)
In my opinion even if you disable it or never had that option, there is still a privacy risk. With those sites you never know what they are doing to promote their site. If you are seriously concern with privacy you shouldn't be a camgirl in the first place. Remember "What happens on the internet, Stays on the Internet"

Re: New ImLive "Pump Your Earnings Campaign" (privacy risk)
this is the big add thing that comes up...just so you don't mess up lol..
when roast wrote this i was so like wtf and went to log in i almost clicked pump my earnings just so it would let me in the site so i could see what was going on...duhhh lol
oh and i edited out the site logos

Re: New ImLive "Pump Your Earnings Campaign" (privacy risk)
Whoa, you just blew my mind with your generic advice. I should have no expectation of basic privacy that many of our contracts already agree to provide. When I sign those things I know they mean nothing. Ill stop camming right now. Thanks.
Look, I was not aware of what I was agreeing to - the purpose of this is warn others not to click. I fucked up and am warning others. That's it.

of course there is still a privacy risk. and i'm not going to lose sleep at night worrying that i'm going to be posted somewhere i didn't ask to be. but when and if i do find out about it i am not going to just leave it be.

Re: New ImLive "Pump Your Earnings Campaign" (privacy risk)
I know you girls already know about the privacy risk. What I'm trying to say is that we shouldn't be surprise with the new things they come up to promote. and for somebody new that is trying to be a cam girl and is super concerned with privacy she shouldn't be a camgirl. That's all I'm not trying to be a hater or anything, just giving a piece of advice. The same goes with LJ they have a bunch of dating sites where they are promoting.

Re: New ImLive "Pump Your Earnings Campaign" (privacy risk)
Sorry so many details were removed in case you're just stumbling onto this thread going wtf? but it was sensitive info for being in an unlocked forum (thanks for the reminder)
Basically it is really only relevant if you have an account on ImLive or Sexier. So check out ImLive's host forums (specifically CustomerService & Host to Host) as they're currently blowing up with angry hosts and many details are available there. Unfortunately a lot of those threads and posts are getting deleted by admin but some are still visible since CS can't catch up. Also bear in mind that the new promo deal pales in comparison to their 100% commission deal so even if you have no problem with what the promo does - it isn't even financially valuable to do it.
Even more basically - if you see the new promo from ImLive (see h0ttie's image attachment upthread), just click 'no thanks'.

Re: New ImLive "Pump Your Earnings Campaign" (privacy risk)
When i read this I was very scared!! >:(
My friend in the usa found someone she met camming in the store shopping he recognize her. I told her to block her area but she did not believe anybody could know her.

Re: New ImLive "Pump Your Earnings Campaign" (privacy risk)
That site is the lowest of the low. So anything they do to exploit cam girls even more for their self gain doesn't surprise me.

Re: New ImLive "Pump Your Earnings Campaign" (privacy risk)
It's really a shame, cause I was so happy with ImLive for so long, and even when traffic went down I was still loyal to them. Now...screw it.
