I want to see the catfights!
I suppose it was only a matter of time before someone tapped into the dressing room voyeur market. I wonder how the dancers feel about it, though? I bet they don't have a choice.

They have one of these in the dressing room at Mons, too. And one on the stage.
And nope, we don't have a choice. I signed a release of something when I was hired, basically just saying I knew it was there and that I was OK with it.
However, at Mons, there are lockers in the ladies' bathroom, and the camera onstage is in the floor and points up at the pole (maybe there's another one but I'm not sure... don't think so). Anyway they are pretty easy to avoid if you really don't want to be on the cam.
Honestly I don't think they get much traffic. It doesn't really bother me.
Its pretty good entertainment! I wish I had video of all the stupid bitches I worked with in the past 6 1/2 years.
Just want to add, I think the dressing room cam is probably pretty boring. Just a bunch of girls sitting around talking or fixing their hair/make up. Unless you do happen to witness a fight or something, but you'd have to get lucky and probably sit around just watching bullshit.
...Then again I'm sure someone out there is into it.
Oh and at Mons there is an outside break area, that you get to through the dressing room but you don't have to pass in front of the cam to do so. So we still have a place to relax away from customers and the cam that isn't a crowded ass bathroom.
I really dont like this!! And they can watch girls on stage from home?? Ok so basically they are performing for all these people on the web for free.
Free in the sense that the dancer doesn't get paid for it, but the guy pays to view it.
Some of the clubs have these machines above the stage that spit dollar bills out, so the customer can actually tip the stage from his computer lol.
Another club I worked at briefly had a sex store attatched to it, and was going to set up peep show booths in the sex store. I was interested in doing this, but then I found out they were going to have webcams in the booths. I didn't like that, even if I was going to get a cut.
a lot of clubs are putting cams in. the smaller ones in particular. and you may not even know it.
Yes, yes, and yes. :D
Jesus H Christ, some of the women I've worked with, the last fucking thing I want to watch is them in the dressing room. Big huge cottage cheese fat asses bending over, etc...it's enough to make you want to puke sometimes.
Even the decent looking ones, it'd be boring as all hell for me to watch that shit--until after hours on end, as you say, a hellacious catfight might break out.
But as you say, some guys are really into the voyeur stuff...

Not quite "for free". The OP's original subject site (2001) gives initial viewers 15 minutes free, after that, its you need to buy a VIP package ($19.95/mo or $99.95 6 mos), after which you get free DR, stage, and dancer chat.
IMO, the "uptight" attitude displayed by some about this is short sighted, because it opens up advertising venue, and expanded exposure to potential customer base. Consider that some dancers I'd be lukewarm about buying dances from them under normal circumstances, but after chatting with them, put them on(near) the top of my list my next visit. Then too, if its a slow afternoon, and there's a hot dancer on stage, customer just might be induced to visit club (and buy dances/VIP).
Yes, 90% of DR footage is boring (I did miss a DR fight once, 1 of dancers got fired over it), but again certain hot dancer(s) just might induce a visit on particular nights. There's a web attendant to answer questions ( and "hawk" wares- so & so in voyeur chat, admission specials, etc). I'm not one to let web surfing get in the way of a good club visit, but for an out of towner, subject website has enhanced my subsequent club visits. 8)
Its not really uptight, if the girls agree to it and get a cut of the money fine. But what if they dont get a cut of the money or even know about it? Sometimes I wonder if clubs I've worked at that had cameras were doing this. I worked at a Hustler club that had a camera room, where no one actually watched the cameras. It was a dirty club and I always wondered why they even had cameras. Then I found out that the cameras weren't recording anything they were just "broadcasting". Ok so what was the point of that? I wonder....::) If stripclubs have to go this far to get business, then I'm fucking out.
About 8 years ago, a club in Springfield MA had internet feeds of a certain section of their stage and the locker room broadcast on the internet. Picture quality was very weak.
ehh, they've had dressing room and stage multi cam sites at platinum plus and club love for years. they never get exciting enough for people.
^^^ That's exactly what the DR is like in my club Lopaw.
Especially that last part, even though we're on the other side of the country. You're that famous amoung dancers!;)
They were actually doing this at 2001 as far back as 13 years ago. I visited the club back in 1999 and 2000 when they had the web address on their sign out front. No chat but they had a DR cam and a stage cam. To be honest it was all very low res and pretty boring (just like the set-up that Bem mentioned at Mardi Gras in Mass) so I lost interest pretty quickly.
Of course, it was also free!
Looks like they have upgraded the equipment and, of course, it's a high speed signal now. Still, I wouldn't pay for dressing room cams and I would rather see the stage and chat with girls face-to-face.
The clubs do sell that content though. You should be getting a cut at least if you ever are on cam. Most of the clubs that do this do not pay the dancers a fair share. That is YOU on that cam that the person visiting the site paid to see.
It is no different than websites that sell DVDs and keep the photo sets going without paying the models residuals.
Ahh, it's a loop. Unless you sign up I guess.
I would not be happy to find out I was on website topless or nude. What if people I knew (who didn't know I danced)saw it? I think it's fine if a dancer agrees and gets a percentage but being forced to do this and not get paid (and likely paying the club to boot)is offensive.
If a dancer doesn't know she's being taped this is a good case for the ACLU. It really is invasion of privacy and she could win a lawsuit I'm sure, assuming she didn't sign papers.
I can't imagine they wouldn't know, at least not for long. That being said, club owners have done dumber things...
Four or five years ago I walked into one of my favorite clubs one afternoon and told one of my favorite dancers there how great her new pictures looked on the club's website. She was a bit surprised since she had not given the club permission to put them on the web and neither had two of her friends who also had new pictures posted. The photos came down within a day and the girls learned an unfortunate lesson about dishonest club owners. Seems that they were told that the pictures were for a wall of 8 x 10's that the club was going to assemble in PD area featuring the ladies who danced there...
Needless to say, five years later, that wall of pictures has yet to appear.
Were those photos taken when they were hired? I once auditioned for a club that took a photo. I didn't work there (was hired but declined)but they used them for their entrance, as in saying "these girls work today" sort of like how restaurants have a board when you walk in saying special of the day. Since I never worked they gave me the photo and from what I understand they gave the photos to girls who quit. This was pre internet though. If I was going to dance at a club now I'd never allow them to photograph me because I would assume it was for their website.
I would not have worked at any club that had such cams. My privacy is important and stripping was not something I broadcasted, despite doing it for so long.
The dollar bill machines are pretty cool though.
No, one girl (my fav) had been there for about six months and the other two for over a year. The club manager simply lied to them. They had a photographer shooting all of the girls on a shift one day and they all ended up on the website. When the three girls complained their pictures were taken down. The other girl's pictures stayed up. No photographs of any dancers, other than touring features, have been posted inside the club since the incident.
I worked the champagne VIP room some time ago :)
Well the way I see it, for my club in particular, is that if I don't want to be on the cam I don't have to be, it's easily avoidable.
And if they were going to pay us ladies, I'm not sure how they'd work that out. Since the cams are easy to avoid, how would they know who was on cam and who wasn't and for how long? I haven't given it tons of thought, but the only solution off the top of my head is to just give all the girls and equal cut. But the site doesn't get a lot of traffic, and of that little traffic the amount of people that actually spend money on viewing the club cams is probably not that many at all. I went on the site and couldn't even figure out how to pay to view the stage cam... Honestly I don't even think there would be enough money to go around! Seriously as far as I care the club can just keep it. I make money there, and they don't take any of it except for a very reasonable house fee.
However if the cams were more intrusive and actually made lots of money off my ass, I'd understand feeling ripped off. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, a club I worked at briefly was planning on setting up webcams in their peepshow booths. I'm not sure how much the girl would get for the cam being there, but I know it wouldn't be a lot, if anything. I do feel like the girl is getting ripped off there.
I was told 2001 Oydessy in Tampa (club from the original post) had a money-spitting machine, but I don't know for certain. A manager at Pink Pony (also in Tampa) told me this, because they were planning on adding one as well. They had the webcams when I was there but they weren't set up yet. They should be by now, but the site doesn't mention it yet.

I can confirm that 2001 has put in a "dollar raining machine" in the last few months. Website VIP members with enough credits can make it rain on stage. I think $100 is the only option, I've seen it rain a few times (not personally in club, but on website). Can't say for sure about other FL clubs alluded to by one poster. There are provisions for tipping dancers in private chat, a cha-ching tone is made on computer sound.
