"you're a little thick around the midsection" RANT
That's what the manager said once I had put on my t-back and fishnet tube top. He said the owner of the clubs gets mad when girls are covered on stage so i wouldn't be able to wear it. Not even if I pull the top down to bring out my boobs. Nevermind the fact that I saw a pin up girl wearing an underbust corset on stage and a dancer there who was bigger than me when he told me I was too thick. Maybe they have a One Tubby Minimum. Idk. Side note I am 5'2" 150lb, nice hips, thighs and butt and D boobs.
I tried working here 2 years ago but was too big. They referred me to their SHITTASTIC DEAD club and I worked approximately one night there. I was 30lb heavier than I am now. Just this past July, I went back and was hired on the spot for waitressing. Worked two shifts in tights and close toed heels and fucked up my big toenails. They literally had to be removed. Ugh. Anyways. I caught the dancing bug again after waitressing those nights.
I LOVE this club, there is so much money to make from it and I always have it on my
mind. My issue is, is it worth it to buckle down and "work on my mid section" or should I try another club who will take me as I am now? Keep in mind I DO want to lose like 30more lb. Help.

Re: "you're a little thick around the midsection" RANT
yes it is worth it to look as good as you can. My weight is all over but when I can keep it under control I always get more work. Guys are not always looking for a skinny minny, which I am not, but I still need to look good for new customers and repeat customers.

Re: "you're a little thick around the midsection" RANT
^^thanks. Yeah I need to work ASAP so I've changed my eating habits. I will have this by next month!

Re: "you're a little thick around the midsection" RANT
If you love it and there's lots of money to be made, then it's definitely worth it.
-
Re: "you're a little thick around the midsection" RANT
I can say this is a fact ! :)

Re: "you're a little thick around the midsection" RANT
Find another club. There's too many out there to be set on working at just one. And in the mean time join a gym and start trying to get healthy....if you focus on trying to be healthy the weight will come off
-
Re: "you're a little thick around the midsection" RANT
I would say go to a different club for now. Work there a month or two while you lose that other 30lbs. If anything, dancing will help you along the way to losing some pounds and getting toned (as long as you don't eat junk at the end of a long shift!) If you really want to work at this one club, then go back after you've lost the rest of the weight. But if you were planning on losing that weight anyway, then why not get to work now so you can go back to the club you want? You're doing it for you and the job/money. Nothing wrong with that.

FUQ managers!!! They are SO STUPID and contradict themselves like 90584 times A DAY! If you're making good money there and what your manager said does not cause emotional stress & anxiety for you, continue to work there. If one of those things becomes the opposite, leave immediately.
I would also try new clubs on the side if you can. Only work them though if you're making $$ and aren't being harassed/emotionally fucked with. Managers do crazy things and he could be mad one night and go on a firing rampage.
P.S. You can only do so much to change your body. I have thick and fuq thighs and ass and they aren't going anywhere unless I literally have the fat sucked out through a tube. That's just how it is. And in addition, sometimes you just can't tone a body part that is prone to having lots of fat in that area.

Re: "you're a little thick around the midsection" RANT
at 5'2 and 150, unless you are super muscular or have a very pear shaped body, you really should be focusing on toning up. and the fact that you have been rejected tells me that you are probably not in the super muscular category.
sorry, this is cold, but at that height/weight your options will be limited unless you carry it well or it is mostly in your muscle. so hit the gym and re audition when you are better prepared :).

Re: "you're a little thick around the midsection" RANT
I was fired for being too fat at 155 and 5'8". I know how much it stings to hear that, so *hugs* to you.
You have to be slim to work in nice clubs. Not skinny per-se, but slim; so yes, it is worth it to try and lose weight, increase your health/fitness, and lose belly fat. If you're very dedicated I bet you could lose about 20lbs and be working before Christmas. Hop over to BodyBusiness to get some solid started advice on how to drop lbs fast and healthily.
In the mean time, if you're absolutely desperate for money and you feel you MUST strip while you continue to lose inches and pounds, maybe try for a diver-y club. The money won't be as good, but you'll learn how to hustle really well in the time it takes you to get fit and you'll be an unstoppable stripping machine by the new year.
Good luck!
Edit: I wanted to ad that the fact that the manager phrased it as "A little thick" is actually very kind. Not to say you're huge or anything, but generally in this business rejection is brutal and they really don't care to spare your feelings. I've heard sized 12 girls get called "whales" before by people in management positions, to their faces. So it does sound like he was trying to let you down easy...

Re: "you're a little thick around the midsection" RANT
5´2 and 150 does sound pretty thick, I´m 5´9 and 145 and told I needed to loose 5 pounds.

It's being realistic. I once auditioned at a club and was told at 5'7 and 135 pounds (and very muscular to boot)I was too heavy. 5'2 and 150 sounds overweight, and if she was told she is thick around the midsection she probably has love handles and flabby stomach, and that will automatically get a girl not hired. Cold, yes but this industry wants the hottest girls (or at least it used to)and girls who are flabby don't survive. Being overweight with a nice butt and boobs is much different than being overweight and flabby.

Re: "you're a little thick around the midsection" RANT
I'm 5'6 and 120 lbs, and while I'm not in the same position as you, I can imagine how you feel. i agree with the rest of the gals on here. Toning up will make a huge difference and it'll make you feel uber confident.

On principal, you could find a different club.
But if you're really into this club-- hoola hoop. And crunches. No lie.

Honestly, it's hard to say because weight is different on different bodies. Because I am muscular I look better being a little heavier than someone with a slim body frame. Also, depends on where your extra weight is. Butt and boobs much better than stomach. Personally, 5'1 and 110 does not sound heavy at all.

Sorry but I agree, I am 5'2" as well and for this height 105 -110 seems best. I was low as 85 to 105, and 100 looked evened out the most. Try going down to 120 with a proper deit and a good work out plan. Im sure other clubs are around the area

It depends on how you carry it....If you're toned it shouldn't matter, but lose some weight if it helps you feel better. I'm not feeling too hot about myself right now. I can't work out, I can't shit cause of the pain meds and I'm a small one myself, barely 5'0. 5'2 and 150...it depends on how the weight is distributed.

Re: "you're a little thick around the midsection" RANT
I think that everyone should constantly be striving to look and feel the best that they can. It isn't hard to be healthy... it's what we were made to do. If you really want to start stripping you can try to get re-hired somewhere else but keep in mind that even if management isn't calling you fat customers may.

I think thats great advice. Plus, you will probably feel great, too. Being healthy isn't as terrible as it sounds. I always remind myself that by not staying in shape I am automatically giving the 40 girls in my club an advantage to make more than me.

Re: "you're a little thick around the midsection" RANT
You ladies rock at advice. I've been running every other day, downing water like it's goin out of style and eating better. And you know what? I FEEL better. I need to post a pic so you can see what i look like. My best guy friend who is always at that club is baffled I wasn't hired bc the girls there are more real type bodies.
Thanks again. And Mindy, hoola hooping?? I never would've thought ha.

I don't think this is heavy. I'm 5'0 and have never been under 108 since I reached adult size, even when I was spending every single night at a dance or martial arts class. I looked great at that weight. Now I'm 120 and desperate to get back in shape. When you're so little, weight doesn't have much to go to, so 10lbs on someone who is 5'10 may not look as bad as 10lbs on someone who is only 4'10 (although, that depends on where they carry it). If I lost 10lbs and was back at 110, I would be perfectly happy. Honestly, most girls I've seen 100lbs or under just look sickly, no matter how tall or short they are. Maybe, if you're genetically gifted to be a twig but still toned with a little muscle, you could pull it off. But most girls aren't. At 110, you really shouldn't be worried about trying to lose 10+ pounds, unless you're trying to work somewhere like Mons Venus. Just make sure you're toned.
-
Re: "you're a little thick around the midsection" RANT
Hmm, I'm 5'2" and 97 lbs. I don't feel sickly or anorexic.
-
Re: "you're a little thick around the midsection" RANT
^ I never said anorexic or implied an eating disorder. I also added the caveat that it's unless you're able to be skinny and have nice toned muscles - which you seem to and it's hot ;)
