Suggestions to De-Age a Dancer in Her Early 30s
Ok, I know Im opening up a can of exploding worms, but oh well. I also know some responses prolly wont be pretty. So here goes.....I have been dancing for well over a decade. I am blonde with large boobs as most of the reg on SW already know. Well I tend to have more of a glamourous look at work and I fear its aging me. I am looking for any suggestions of any mistakes that women who are in their 30s make or suggestions you guys might want to make to instill as much youth as possible. Idk like always wear ur hair down, or choose lighter shades of makeup etc..Pls give me examples of what you see in your clubs now that you feel hinders some women from making money. Pls take this question from any angle. Even though of course I see things a certain way and I like the way I look I have to cater to others to a certain degree and I feel I may need to consider the opinions of others somewhat. Also just to add even though at 5'4" I do not consider myself thicker at 132/133 some do. You guys can factor that in too..Idk Im sure some girls are gonna think that early 30s is too old right off the bat but I know everyone sees things differently. I wouldnt agree with that. So are there any suggestions you guys have to keep the youthful look going? Any mistakes u see girls in their 30s making that u work with?

I loooved this article. They offer good suggestions around page 3.
"Unless you're underage and trying to sneak in to a party, why would you wear makeup that hides your youth?" asks Chanel makeup artist Angela Levin, who works with the ageless Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Aniston. Ironically, she adds, looking younger means ditching the makeup you used when you were actually young. "Now it's about choosing sheer textures and applying with a light touch."

Also, the header says makeup over 40 but ignore that part the article itself is called, "Is your Makeup Aging you?" and has good tips overall.

Re: Suggestions to De-Age a Dancer in Her Early 30s
^Thanks soo much for the article and suggestions. I know my huge boobs are prolly aging me. I love them though and I have always had a thing for huge boobs. I am simply finding that some nights I am making much more than the small breasted younger girls and other nights hardly anyone is tipping me. It all depends on the crowd that night. Some guys who are 10 years younger than me tip me honestly its prolly just due to the huge boob fascination. But guys around my age dont seem to be into boobs like they used to. Glad I put off the additional BA I was contemplating. I know guys love long flowing natural hair but truthfully I have thin fine hair and it really doesnt look that great down so Im usually wearing it up. but heair up looks matronly and I think thats killing it for me. ALot of guys like my eyes as I do more of an exotic eye look but I feel with the darker shadow thats kinda aging me. I cant seem to find a good enough under eye concealer and my dark circles are awful. It isnt the crows feet its just the reddish black under eye circles that r truly aging me. On good days I look maybe 27 still but everyday isnt a well rested looking day for me. Botox would be too expensive to keep up and money around here is sucking like less than 100 a night sucking alot of the time so thats not realistic. I wish I could have the hollows and dark circles treated bc no eye cream is truly fixing that. Working out and diet can fight cellulite Ive seen that but the undereye thing is hurting me. Ive tried eye masks creams, vitamins w iron n them bc im slightly anemic etc..

Re: Suggestions to De-Age a Dancer in Her Early 30s
Camile had some good suggestions, Though I don't agree with the large breast aging thing. If they are overly large and fake yes but if they are proportionate I don't think so. Darken your hair I don;t think bleach blonde looks good on anyone after 30. It would be easier to make suggestions with a picture but I'm sure you look fine.

Re: Suggestions to De-Age a Dancer in Her Early 30s
^ You only need probably one vile of filler to do your eyes and it would last a year. So if that is what's really bothering you do it it shouldn't cost more than 400-600 worth it for a year worth of improvement. Just do your homework since that area takes more expertise, I'm still searching for someone good in my area.

Re: Suggestions to De-Age a Dancer in Her Early 30s
I know my under eyes look horrendous when I'm eating and drinkly badly-- I'm pretty sure it's related to my sodium intake. A lot of that I think can be addressed with diet and lots of water.
What happens when you wear your hair down? Oftentimes what we think looks horrible, looks great to the guys so I try not to pigeonhole myself into what I think looks good. Some of the best money makers I've worked with would wear HORRIBLE outfits-- and the only thing I could figure was that they were bright and attention getting and had a sort of fun WTF affect. So, no matter what we thing-- I'd suggest trying some crazy stuff and seeing what sticks with the customers.
If you do want to try different hair, you could try a wig, but do your research so you don't harm your hair underneath since it's so fine.
I wouldn't worry too much about the age thing. Hustlers tend to be older anyway. But if you're working in a smoking environment you ARE going to have to tackle drinking more water, taking in more antioxidants, and having a very good moisturizer and makeup remover.

Re: Suggestions to De-Age a Dancer in Her Early 30s
Ugh I worked with this woman who had bottle-blonde ratted hair, thick foundation/concealer, long red claws, massive fake tits and an affinity for zebra print.
Darken your hair a little, lighten up your coverage and avoid tacky prints/overly long nails. Camille and others are probably right about botox and fillers, changes the way your face lays.

Re: Suggestions to De-Age a Dancer in Her Early 30s
Camille covered a lot of it. But I would also say, wear trendy jewelry. I was once wearing a rhinestone necklace, and there was another girl in the dressing room contemplating (out loud) to another girl because she didn't know if she wanted to wear her rhinestone necklace or not.
Her friend was like: "Do you want my honest opinion? It looks really dated in clubs these days. Its old school. That just screams old school stereotypical stripper, and that's not going to do well with most guys who want a younger girl. Wear trendy jewelry and outfits. It makes you look modern which is what most men want. Their wives are dated. Strippers should not be." Or something like that. Very, very, very good point. Look up fashion trends.
Makeup trends change too. It's more about natural beauty now. I find I would make way more when I didn't do the smokey eye than when I did. You can stay glam, but don't overdo it. If you want to keep a heavy glam look, stick to the Old Hollywood look because it never ages. Pearls, red lips, classic colors. Otherwise, trendy is the way to go.

Re: Suggestions to De-Age a Dancer in Her Early 30s
Exercises and the *right* MU. I dye my head hair Blonde but it is amazing how my other hair stays brunette. Keep current with what the younger guys like in convo to a point. But there are guys that will want a mature dancer and those that will never. I have large breasts and as long as they look good that is all that matters... really.

THIS IS EXCELLENT ADVICE. I am the one who wear the rhinsetone choker and I prolly am looking outdated. Its my thing to wear it too which sucks. I have very thin hair and yes I know better than to do the bleach blonde allover haircolor. My underneath is a light brown/dark blonde and on top I do have alot of chunky highlights which make me look really blonde but I have lowlights woven in so it has some dimension and looks darker. I fully agree with the bleach blonde hair aging. I need a good cut but like the hair stylists have said I cant continuously style my hair down. It wavy/curly fine and thin which look like shit down. My hair look fried. BUt when I have darkened it in the past my money went in the shitter. And that was when I was younger too Like 22,23. When u cant take heat to ur hair and u have fine limp hair It doesnt look good down. I need to cut back ont he smokey eye thing and maybe incorporate fake lashes for drama instead of dark eyeshadow. Im not saying no more rhinestone chokers maybe just not every night. And I need to lighten up on the eyeshadow and use fake lashes.

Re: Suggestions to De-Age a Dancer in Her Early 30s
People on the street ie school etc suspect Im younger bc I wear what 15-25 yr olds wear. I wear AE jeans, flip flops tank tops etc.. I just dont have alot of dressy clothes anymore. Ive been making sure I have my bill money wayyy before I have money for new clothes..Maybe a mistake. And my costumes r pretty current although i do like the more showy stuff and i get lots of compliments from younger girls but idk what theyre really thinking. I dont have alot of current "go out " clothes but thats bc I havent been lol. ANd I do have alot of cuff bangles bracelets etc i wear normally. I dont look dated in that dept.

Re: Suggestions to De-Age a Dancer in Her Early 30s
I wear Rhinestone Choker's and get plenty of compliments. I guess it is how it looks on you. I love to war my Rhinestone Collar and Cuffs especially in VIP. Not so much on stage but on the floor is fine.

Extensions aren't just for adding length... a few tracks will make a drastic change in thickness for fairly cheap. ;D

Re: Suggestions to De-Age a Dancer in Her Early 30s
High ponytail is a great idea. It's a young look and it visibly lifts your face - especially the part that starts to 'sag' as women get older (think of the jawline/jowels). Comb your hair up and get a good clip in pony tail that's very long and full (if your natrual hair isn't already). We had a dancer in her late 30's who would do this, and it was so damn cute on her, and she'd look 10 years younger.
Learn to contour your face with makeup so it looks a little fuller.
Softer colours, pink lips.
Basically, everything Camille and everyone else has already pointed out.
It's hard to tell without pictures. Would you be willing to post some?

Re: Suggestions to De-Age a Dancer in Her Early 30s
^Thank u all for ur input. I am scared to mess with extensions as I have apprx 3 diff shades of blonde ranging from light to dark blonde/light brown. Kinda hard to match extensions to all of that and I def wouldnt do that myself. As for posting a pic Im not quite down for that although I know it would be helpful. I kinda look like a mix between Christina Applegate and Phoebe(msp) from Friends and someone said Traci Lords before too idk ANd yes marilyn monroe with the body type... But Im not as old as them. Not exactly a mirror image of any of them and my body isnt like them but Ive heard all of those references before. And yes I got u guys with the chokers...no chokers!! My facce already looks full as its very round and had reatined some fat as Im not a skinny girl. Im curvy my hips r 38 inches yet I can still fit into size 4 jeans from AE go figure. Im between a 4/6 in jeans.

I speak from experience when I say that chunky highlights are outdated.

Re: Suggestions to De-Age a Dancer in Her Early 30s
Well I got rid of my big breast implants revealing nice perky small B cups and now guys think im 18-19 instead of 22 to 23 . Also less makeup on the face and no dark lipstick, but lots of eye makeup helps. I used to wear red lipstick all the time and go light on the eyemakeup and people thought I was older, then I switched to dark smokey eyes and sheer lipgloss and now I'm young again. I use two thick lashes layered and a shitload of eyeshadow. Also being thin but toned helps. Perky ass and tits also a sign of youth. Rhinestones make anyone look more mature. My mom always wears a lot of diamonds (necklaces bracelets, etc) so I always associate sparkly rhinestones as a more mature thing. I duno. Also try out modern hairstyles - not the old crap some of the older ladies at the club have for hairstyles - like their from the 80s or something. Other tips - white teeth, smooth skin - with Retin-A - that shit gets rid of acne and makes your skin look really young. I know girls who use it and look a lot younger than their age.
Why don't you use Vitamin K mixed with arnica gel for your undereye dark circles? that really works for me and I also put it on my bruises when I have them and they go away 10 times faster than it would without the cream.

Def save some money for Botox and filler.. You won't regret it.

I know u didnt say this but what I have is more of a mix of blonde tones on top alltogether it just looks like a natural blonde color on top not a skunky chunked out color thing..It looks more natural and underneath is a darker blonde which is closer to my natural hair color. I get it about the no diamonds thing. I suppose it does add years. Yea I stopped wearing red lipstick n my 20s and I do the smokey eye thing and leave my lips to just some lip balm. I have thin lips too so putting alot of color on them just ages me. Took care of that one already. I really dont have that much of a need for botox unless its going under my eyes. I dont really have any crows feet either. I was thinking of using Prevage bc Ive used it before on my face and it doesnt break my oily skin out. I swear having oily skin although its a nuisance it has saved me from some nasty wrinkles..Well prolonged me from getting them lol. Retin A breaks me out bad and id use something along those lines if it didnt break out my skin.
With jewelry its hard bc I tend to like the Yurman and John Hardy jewelry over the young 20 something dangly earrings and over embellished necklaces. Some of that stuff not all but some looks cheap to me. So the jewelry makeover may be a little harder. But I can eliminate the rhinestone necklace. I tend the wear the thicker fancier ones but even still its outdated.
I dont really wear any 80s hairstyles so I dont need to worry about that. There is a girl whos n her early 40s who does do the all over platinum blonde thing and i want so bad to tell her its aging her. She wears wigs sometimes but to me they look bad. She has a beautiful face and body though. So nah Im not that bad. Im really not in total need of 30s dancer makeover just a few small changes like the rhinestones im gonna miss. I do have flashy current costumes w rhinestones but they rnt 1990s style. They r underwire tops and padded triangle tops w crystals(full matching costumes w coverups)..I get alot of compliments as my stuff is oftentimes more classy than the girl wearing worn out clear heels, a neon green pair of shorts, and a black racer back bra.
And Im guessing I could get the vit K cream from a health food store?

Re: Suggestions to De-Age a Dancer in Her Early 30s
I'm an older dancer too. I haven't done anything dramatic to my looks yet because of my age (no Botox or fillers or lasers....), although I will when I need to. When I first started noticing my skin getting drier and fine lines around my eyes I started using retin a and switched to this great peptide foundation by Peter Thomas Roth. I also stopped wearing eyeliner under my eyes, but started wearing mascara on my lower lashes as well as false eyelashes only on the outer half of my upper lids with cat eye black eyeliner, and a shimmery champagne colored eyeliner from the inside corner of my upper lid to where the false lashes start. This makes my eyes look wide open and bright. I also wear a creamy lipstick that matches my natural lip color instead if high shine glosses or bright colors. I started taking off my eye makeup with one of the shu uemera cleansing oils which I think, along with the retin a, is preventing wrinkles. I eat raw fruit or vegetables with every meal and eat wild caught salmon, trout, fresh sardines... almost every day for the fatty acids. I get facials every month, clean my skin with a clarisonic brush & cetaphil. I use a kinerase mask twice weekly. I use deep conditioner instead of regular conditioner and always get the gloss treatment when I get my hair colored. I stopped running because it made me too skinny for my age and started using kettlebells, yoga & pilates to stay super firm but still soft.

Re: Suggestions to De-Age a Dancer in Her Early 30s
Without seeing how you look it's hard to figure it out because not all dancers the same age look the same. I am 40 but you'd never know it. Besides genetics which I was blessed with I don't wear makeup at home and drink lots of water. Makeup can age you. I disagree about the large breast thing because I have natural large breasts but they don't make me look older.

Re: Suggestions to De-Age a Dancer in Her Early 30s
Honey, in another few years you'll look back on this and laugh. Your 30's are your prime; trying to hide it is like mixing fine wine with soda-pop. Just take care of yourself and rock it. Don't let youth culture skew your vision. You've never been sexier than you are now, I'd bet good money on it.
-
Re: Suggestions to De-Age a Dancer in Her Early 30s
But wait, there's more.... I think for an older dancer it's more important to appear expensive and exclusive than like she's perpetually 24. Being youthful & full of life as well as being mature and full of experience has it's own appeal. The important thing to remember is that successful men want the best of everything so look like you prize yourself and take really good care of yourself. Giant boobs are more mature but if they come along with a flat stomach and a tight round ass then you just look like a bombshell who's built for pleasure instead of older. Jennifer Lopez has been voted the sexiest woman in the world and she's in her mid 40s. Wear simple clothes that showcase your fantasy body instead of competing with it & I think men find flashy or trendy jewelry distracting too. Bless their generous hearts, they are simple creatures. And if you like your hair color but feel you need extensions then get clip ins and have a stylist layer them into your real hair. That's the secret of most girls who look like they have naturally ultra long thick hair.

Re: Suggestions to De-Age a Dancer in Her Early 30s
I would recommend wearing a natural hair wig instead of extensions. Because you have baby fine hair you run a high risk of breakage and slippage. A good wig will look natural and even give your hair a break. Also, I would drop a few pounds to get under 130 to ensure there are no mommy hips or poochy tummy to distract. I highly recommend Rejuvicare Collage Beauty Formula for the dark circles. It replenishes your lost collagen and helps move the blood pooling under your eye (causing the dark circles) along. http://www.rejuvicare.com/collagen-beauty-formula.html
