Re: Laughing at the New Girl
I would be a bitch too. First they laugh...and then they go and try to "help"? Props to her for being a bitch right back!
I will admit...I have laughed at a girl before. but not to her face. And I honestly felt bad afterwards for acting like that..and I never will do it again. I will never say anything bad about the way someone else dances. Because I am new to dancing and I KNOW damn well I prob look like a fool up there sometimes. Its not easy...and I freeze and forget what the hell to do...and i know i look nervous up there. But I also KNOW I will get the hang of that shit eventually.
I have learned that guys dont give a SHIT how you dance. They cannot tell a rookie from someone who has been doing it for a while. Also, every girl has her own style, and everyones different. Cocky girls who think they are these great dancers and who judge others are usually ugly, OR have horrible personalities, and are just insecure (at least in my club).
I think alot of girls loose their humility, or probably never had any to begin with, after a while. They forget they were just as new and most likely had girls laughing at them too.
A beautiful girl can instantly look ugly if she is a total bitch. A good personality will go a looooooong way.
Re: Laughing at the New Girl
The best way to react in a situation like this is to sit back and watch who ever made fun of you and steal her moves. I bet she'd stop laughing then. haha.
Re: Laughing at the New Girl
What I don't get is, why would someone even take their time at work to help out competition. Seems stupid to me. THey should really focus on themselves and their own money.
Re: Laughing at the New Girl
I think guys do notice new girls or girls that suck at dancing vs. the ones who have obviously been at it for a while or are just better dancers. They may or may not care, but they definitely notice.

How 'bout this, I've seen a LOT more young dancers who haven't worked even a YEAR pull shit like this far more often than experienced dancers. They know it all, have so many smart comments to make and wash out faster and faster every year.

This is true. Yeah, they don't really care, but yes they notice. There was a girl at my club who was there for maybe 2 months and never ever danced better than her first night on stage, even when other girls tried to help her. Guys definitely noticed, and it was kinda painful to watch. I wish she would have taken ANY of the advice given to her, but I think she just hated being onstage. I ran into her on the street a few weeks after I quit and she told me she quit too. Thank god. Really sweet girl but dumb as a bag of rocks, and she clearly didn't want to be stripping. Anyway, I never made fun of her dancing or tried to give her my own advice - just cringed on the inside every time I saw her do the SAME thing over and over and over again and never improve. And guys noticed it too.
Re: Laughing at the New Girl
the girl at the club I'm at right now that's bad on stage... as bad as she is on stage, she does really well because she looks happy and is fun. I know that she'll get better... the younger they are, the faster they learn ;)
I don't mind and even like it when girls are bad on stage because it makes me look better. Also, up here guys are very rarely looking at stage. They don't tip either. They will literally sit in "perv's row" (the seats around the stage) and be fucking around on their phones. Tonight my friend and I caught a guy taking a picture on his phone. When the bouncer confronted him, he said that it was an accident. He took the phone and there were like, 10 pictures and 3 videos! Yeah, real accident ::)
Re: Laughing at the New Girl
I had this happen to me at a club in Illinois. I was not a newbie, I had been dancing for 3 1/2 years, but I went to this club, first day, and these 3 chicks literally lined up around the stage, getting ready to bash me ruthlessly, and I just loved the looks on their faces when they realized *oh,shit, she actually can dance pretty well*
But I tell you guys, I was the most sterotypical, rythmless, trainwreck, OMG-IS-SHE-HAVING-A-SEIZURE-UP-THERE, tomboy newbie in the history of stripping my first couple of months! We all start somewhere, be humble for christ's sake.
When I finally polished up a bit, people would comment on my dancing, and I'd just say Aw,shucks, I wish I had video of me when I started, you'd probably get a kick out of it! LOL
Re: Laughing at the New Girl
I'll fess up to being one of those bitches who watch and laugh, but I'm a little more discreet about it. Like I'll sit somewhere that she can't see me and never do it in front of customers. This is one of the few times that I'm a snob when it comes to dancing. I just try to do it in that "you're still the little sister, so watch and learn before you get any bright ideas about yourself" sort of way. This is how girls in my home club treated me as a newb, and it seems to be the attitude that pays off for everyone.
I'm of the opinion that dancing is a pretty dirty business, so if a new girl can't deal with my "snobby older sister" but otherwise friendly attitude in the first few weeks, then her skin is not thick enough to deal with the real bitches she will inevitability face. The ones who can usually go on to be very motivated girls who some times put me in awe later on.
Wish there was a video of my first time to laugh at!
Re: Laughing at the New Girl
i'm with jd on this one- i'm too busy with customers to really care what some new girl is doing on stage. i really dont like when custys talk shit about girls too. i usually stick up for the person, no matter who it is, and nip that problem in the bud and quickly get the subject changed and back to selling. dancers who need to sit around and make fun of a girl really aren't that great at stripping- the good strippers are the ones too busy making $$$ to pay attention to a girl on stage!

I think this is the important takeaway here. All the nasty girls at the bar with nothing to do but laugh at the new girl, meanwhile she’s doing her thing and taking all the money. Who’s laughing now broke bitches?
I know this is an old thread, but it came up in my search and mean girls never die.
