Harsh life of a stripper
Only my second day stripping last night, 3 girls from my school went there. They looked shocked to see me working there. I came back and my sign on my door was in the trash can (one of the girl lives in my dorm). On her Twitter she wrote "Still cnt believe I seen that girl on the pole...I will neva look at her the same". She has never held a conversation with me or nothing. It sucks how people judge us...like we are hoes, but NEVER know that we why we may need the money and stuff. She saw me today and spoke but never mentioned anything about it negative.
THE FUNNY THING IS SHE KNOWS TWO OF HER FRIENDS ARE TRYING TO WORK THERE!!! YET SHE SAID THAT ABOUT ME???!!! I don't get it, help me out please.

Re: Harsh life of a stripper
You're going to have to grow a very thick skin if you're going to be a dancer. There are so many narrow minded, judgmental assholes in this world and we seem to meet more than the average person. The only thing you can do is ignore the negativity.
-
Re: Harsh life of a stripper
That is immature behavior and I'd just ignore it - don't let it get to you. What were they doing at the club anyway? Probably went to the club to audition. :D
-
Re: Harsh life of a stripper
Meh just ignore it. Always gonna be someone who doesn't get it. She's probably jealous that she's not doing it.
-
Re: Harsh life of a stripper
I'm doing it because I have to pay for my school once financial aid is through, to get away from an abusive family member, and I can no longer stay at my parents home next summer...not to sleep with men or go on shopping sprees. I've put in a shitload of applications elsewhere, and this job was the less difficult to get hired at. I was like wtf.

Re: Harsh life of a stripper
Ahh girl I'm so sorry that happened! Those girls are bitches, and definitely jealous. When I started dancing a few of my "friends" turned on me and suddenly wouldn't be my friend any more, and I found out through a mutual friend that they had been talking about me behind me back and saying that they didn't want to be friends with me when I was making a lot of money that they felt like they deserved more than me - WTF.
No matter what they say, you are hot enough that men will pay huge amounts of money just to spend time with you, and they are not. They can't handle this and so they're turning on the bitchiness to make themselves feel better.

Re: Harsh life of a stripper
I knew the she or one of her friends did it because I've been in school for 3 or 4 weeks now, and all of a sudden my name tag is in the trash? Secondly, why would she write that when she lives in my building but doesn't KNOW me.
-
Re: Harsh life of a stripper
Girl, you are going to see the worst side of people now. Unfortunately being a dancer brings out evil in non-dancer girls. (Well 99% anyways) We aren't exactly portrayed in the best light in society.

SMH. I am not conceited in ANY way, and am the sweetest thing. However even before I started dancing, I would go out in a nice outfit and girls always look me up in down because of my body and height. I was also getting a lot of attention last night too. The chick doesn't even know me (like I see if we were friends, I was a family member) so for her to go out of her way to write that on Twitter and rip my shit...I was like damn these chicks hating hard!!! It just blew me away, because I always heard horror stories about how some of the strippers you work with or girls who know you strip will try to destroy your shit or start rumors...NOW I AM LIVING IT SO SOON. SMH.

Re: Harsh life of a stripper
definitely report it to the RA, it could even be classified as sexual harassment (maybe). with all of the non-discriminatory things these days there's no way they won't get in trouble. shut those jealous bitches UP!

Because she's a jealous spiteful bitch with no life. Seriously, for people as pathetic as these girls, this was probably the highlight of her whole week. "Holy crap - I recognized one of the strippers!" She just put it on her fb because she has nothing else interesting to write, and is hoping people will be all intrigued and ask "Who!? Who!?" so she can be the interesting one for once and tell them all the "exciting" story about how she saw so-and-so working at the SC...
The simple answer: these girls have no life and are jealous. Ignore them. Don't talk to them in the hallway. If any sort of harassment continues, I would go to the RA.

Re: Harsh life of a stripper
I had a similar experience in college. Except, I had a bitch room mate that was jealous & overweight that blabbed to everyone @ school. I wound up being written about in the boys bathroom wall & gossiped about. Funny thing is that my anatomy teacher actually stuck up for me -said I was a beautiful girl & that why shouldn't I do it. That shut the other students up for the time being.8)
People always act weird about sex or anything having to do w/ thinking outside the box. & women are also easily threatened when they smell competition.

Re: Harsh life of a stripper
^ Yeah, I agree that it's 100% jealousy. Ignore it, and whenever it starts to get to you, think of all the really, really nice stuff you can buy with your money that she'll never have. And whenever a girl is really, REALLY getting to me, I fantasize about her SO coming in to my club and blowing a shit ton of money on me constantly. The best thing about this scenario is that it happens more often than you might think. The last girl who ran her mouth off about me was the ex of a guy I was sleeping with named Jon, and one night Jon and I ran into her and her boyfriend at a bar...and her boyfriend was one of my really good regulars. In fact, I had just been out with Jon on a shopping spree at Coach the day before and bought a couple new bags because her boyfriend had spent soooo much money on me that week. It was a wonderful feeling :D

Re: Harsh life of a stripper
The girl that was there was grilling me why I was on stage so when the Maino 'Hi Haters' sign came on I started singing along extra long and focused on the other customers. She is short (I'm like 5'7), she looks like a rat raced bitch (literally). Even if she runs her mouth, do you think other people will have the balls to say something to my face or they won't give a shit (cause I have my close friends, but I'm not nor have ever had the desire to have to many "friends" at school...so not many people KNOW me but may have SEEN me)???

Re: Harsh life of a stripper
Nothing to explain babe. People are always going to be ignorant assholes. Appreciate it, honestly. She's not only jealous, but the more taboo the business is, the more money we make.
Take it in stride, and laugh all the way to the bank.

Re: Harsh life of a stripper
If you have haters then your doing something right.....just tell yourself that over and over and ignore them. If the touch your shit again, report it.

Re: Harsh life of a stripper
You know what's odd. That girl spoke cause we ordered food from the same carry out, so we was downstairs at the same time coincidentally. She was like "Are you waiting for them?" Then I seen her other friend just a few mins ago in the bathroom who lives in our building as well and you can tell when someone found out something "shocking" about you. She just looked and proceeded to take her shower. WHY NOT SAY SOMETHING TO MY FACE???!!!
-
Re: Harsh life of a stripper
I don't get it. Why not just say, "I noticed you took my sign down. I'd appreciate it if you not touch my shit again."? These sound like gossipy bitches. You're not going to be friends, why even waste the time worrying about it. Tell her flat out. If she does it again, go to the RA, or break her shit. Either way. Also, I'd tell her soemthing like, "I'd appreciate if you took information about me off of twitter too." If she doesn't, hell, start giving out her email/ phone number to creepo customers, and tell them her name is your "real" name. Yes, I must be 12 years old. I don't give a fuck.

Re: Harsh life of a stripper
She's a passive aggressive COWARD. That is all.

I'm kinda over it now, I just hope she or her friends don't try to tell people in the club where I live or run their mouths around school. But then again, I don't hang with too many people so they are NON-FACTORS whose opinions shouldn't matter?
-
Re: Harsh life of a stripper
Well, your first priority is getting your shit straight for school.
Second priority will be moving out of the dorms.
But yeah-- talk to the RA and the RA management.

"I still can't believe that this girl cannot write a proper sentence in English. To think that her parents are paying all this money to send her to college. I will NEVER, yes NEVER with an 'ER', look at her the same way again."

I was thinking the same honestly, but wasn't gonna bring up the grammar thing yet again. At least it's not so awful I actually have to sit here and work out what she's saying.
