Making It Rain - Disrespectful or Not?
To all my fellow dancers... Do you consider it disrespectful when a guy makes it rain on your ass or not??? I know some dancers don't like it unless a guy puts money directly in her garter or whatever band she is using to collect money that night.
With me, I do not think it's disrespectful unless a guy was to ball up the money and throw it or throw change. I wish people threw money at me all the time...so I can put it in the bank lol.

Re: Making It Rain - Disrespectful or Not?
Really? I've never heard of someone complaining that money was being showered on them. :O Yeah, I'd get mad if the bills were waded up and thrown or, especially coins, but I've had people enthusiastically "make it drizzle" on my ass.... ok, ew, that sounded worse than I intended lol I just meant, it was only like 10 bucks, not a shitload of cash. But I was happy all the same. I don't care where it lands when they throw it, as long as they or anybody else doesn't try to steal it back off the stage. I would actually rather guys throw money on top of me than stick it in my thong - less intrusive.

@Aurora Girl I completely agree!!! =)

Re: Making It Rain - Disrespectful or Not?
One girl I work with said she thought it was disrespectful... but I'm pretty sure she's in the minority...
Personally, I love it. And the girls and bouncers at my club are good about grabbing money that falls on the floor and putting it on your stage for you.
Also, fuck guys that crumple the bills into little balls. I hate that shit! Someone was doing it last night... so freaking annoying!

Re: Making It Rain - Disrespectful or Not?
@Sierra I love it too...turns me on...more $$$ in my pocket. That's dumb...most of them were probably drunk balling them up.

Re: Making It Rain - Disrespectful or Not?
I'm not a huge fan of it. I feel like it is rather distracting to my performance, and I end up having to avoid stepping on dollars. It is much easier to maintain eye contact with people when you aren't concentrating on your foot placement. I suppose I just don't see the purpose? If someone really wants to flaunt their money they can just as easily spread it around the tiprail or put their wad of dollars infront of them. I completely understand that it is unreasonable to feel this way though, but hey--that's just me.

Re: Making It Rain - Disrespectful or Not?
I have mixed feelings about "making it rain".
I've done it when I had bought things from another dancer (I once bought some shoes from another dancer, and I paid her by making the money rain on her). It looks cool when dancers give money to other dancers , usually is a customer giving a dancer that's not on stage money to give it to a girl on stage. I actually like doing that because after I use that customer's money to make it rain on another dancer, I get more tips from that customer, so is like a win-win situation.
When it's done to me, I like it when I'm doing some pole antic, or when it is not falling directly towards me (say, I'm descending from the pole, and most of the money falls on my feet; that's great). I also love it when other dancers do what I mentioned above.
I hate it when I'm doing some floor move; it sticks all over my skin.

Re: Making It Rain - Disrespectful or Not?
I don't give a fuck if they throw it, crumple it, put it in my garter, my shoe, between my tits, in my thong, or in my hand. Just tip me, bitch.

Re: Making It Rain - Disrespectful or Not?
I hate hate hate crumpled money. Even when I was 16 working at McDonalds I hated it. It's an indication of no home training.
I wouldn't mind getting rained on though as long as ALL that rain ends up in my hands when it's all said and done.

Re: Making It Rain - Disrespectful or Not?
Shit, I'll "make it rain" on myself after I bank on a shift...I'll go home and throw all my cash in the air and then make a pile and just roll around in it.
-
Re: Making It Rain - Disrespectful or Not?
I don't care how they throw it. Just throw it.

I was taking my friend on vaca with me a couple months ago and she texted me in the middle of the night freaking out about the price of the museum tickets/hotel we were going to. I was half asleep and texted: G, go to sleep. I'm a stripper. I roll around in money for fun.
She screen shot the text, blacked out my name and put it on fb. When I read it on there I realized it was pretty funny.
I know its a bitch to uncrumple all those bills but I'd rather have crumpled bills then no bills.
The other day I even found a 5 dollar bill in the dressing room that was ripped in half, YES, I took it and I don't give a damn. I don't know when I learned this but I know that if you have a ripped bill you can tape it back together and use it, and if you have a PART of a ripped bill, if you have more than half of it the bank will take it.
I remember someone (I think Sierra) once posted about a guy tipping her and her friend by ripping a twenty in half and giving half of the bill to each, then said, "now you girls will be friends forever." I remember because I thought that was hilarious, and am still curious to know what they did with the money.
I have a bucketlist, and having someone make it rain on me is on there, crossed off now, but yeah, please do.

Re: Making It Rain - Disrespectful or Not?
Over 50, fun. Under 5, an insult. Wad of money thrown on stage equates paying to get off the stage. Throwing change I'm throwing fists, unless in Canada, because it means the chicks a dime whore.

Re: Making It Rain - Disrespectful or Not?
The other night a reg (not really, seen him one other time, but known him from various nightclubs for a few years) came in..... I ended up spending the last two hours dancing on the coffee table of a roped off part of the lapdance area, it's a coffee table with sofas. All the other chairs all around the roped off area were packed all night with dancers giving dances.... they were all staring at me. I got up on the table and danced for myself in the mirror on the wall while he laid back on the sofa throwing hundreds of ones on me.... I was doing floorwork on the coffee table even, he was reclined, laid back, throwing them from a distance up in the air so they were raining all over me. I felt like I was in the Drake video Miss Me when he's sitting back watching that girl dance.... fucking amazing! Nights like that I love my job!

@Desuvs @J.D. Thanks for those stories! Yeah I love when guys make it rain...makes it worthwhile.

Re: Making It Rain - Disrespectful or Not?
I love it. The only disrespectful thing that has really ever happened to me on stage was when I was given a folded up dollar later only to find that it was a torn up HALF of a dollar. I still have it to remind me of how when I go back to dancing, to ALWAYS pay attention to the money that is being thrown!!

Re: Making It Rain - Disrespectful or Not?
So I did find something that pissed me off. This asshole took a stack of cash and threw it at my face. That did piss me off, he did it twice, too. When any of the money landed on the couches/tables he would throw it on the floor because he wanted to watch me pick it up....... yeah I guess there are ways to be disrespectful while GIVING ME YOUR MONEY.....

Throwing a lot of money on me is the highest form of respect.

@Carmen_B I know right. =)

Re: Making It Rain - Disrespectful or Not?
Men are all there for different reasons. Not all of them are truly about us. Sometimes guys need to feel big and important by flashing cash. If him giving me $100 for just being on stage makes him happy then I am happy. If you don't want to be rained on just grab another girl to cover your stage. I suggest me.
