on SM its used for HD, i personally hate it. but it does get u listed higher on the site, like the first page, idk about other sites, but thats how it is for SM.
ohh ok, that makes sense, haha i just hate using it soo much b/c i can't see myself in the cam window, i have to look at the adobe window >_<
all I know is that I HATE IT lately all it has done is drop me out of privates :(((((
The encoder isn't used for NKD, It is for another site. If you are new to camming, you made a good choice for NKD. A tip for you, they only pay a set per minute rate, but that is starting out. If you put in a lot of time camming, you can email them and request a raise. Eventually, they will pay way higher than what you can make on other sites. They will only increase the pay if you are regularly working 8 hours a day.
Yes, on streamate they encourage the use of the encoder for 'HD' streaming and maintain it is better quality than the web stream.
I find it lags for no reason, crashes all the time, you have to basically shut down the rest of your computer because it hogs all the resources. And it has this AWESOME bug that that it's had for years where it lags and then our video stream goes in to fast forward.
I used to do tech support and it looks RIDICULOUS. It happens all the time also.
But basically the purpose of using the encoder is to get better placement on Streamate. So I recommend it even though I hate that mother fucker.
But yes you can also record your shows, although it records it in an obscure format on Streamate.
I can't believe there's no love for the encoder. I don't know anything about computers but my video looks so much better when I use the encoder than it does when I'm just in my Logitech Software. Sometimes, though rarely, there is a little bit of a lag, but it's never more that a second behind.
