Camsites and Background Checks?
I read somewhere that work you've done through camsites (specifically, in my case, MyGirlFund and MyFreeCams) will show up on a background check. Is this true? I've tried reading the TOS but its' a little hard for me to understand.
Sorry if this has already been talked about, I've read the camming FAQ and done a search.
Thanks <3
Re: Camsites and Background Checks?
I am not exactly sure but I think they would if the company did a thorough background check. I am assuming since most companies you have to give your social security too and do all the taxes for ( self-employed tax) so I was thinking that alone would leave a paper trail but then again I am not extremely sure on this.
But maybe they would use a discrete name which could still be looked up too but eh.
You could always run a background check on yourself to see what other would see too.

There's no way to prove one way or the other. Obviously if it was for like a government or high-profile job, it probably would show up. But that's a risk that comes with being in this industry, as well as being exposed to everyone you know.
Re: Camsites and Background Checks?
What exactly are the consequences of having this on your record? I know that some employers might not like a girl who used to cam - but how often does it really happen that someone is rejected for a job because of this? Are there any cam girls with that kind of experience? Personally I see it as a 100% legal thing I used to do that shouldn't affect my eligibility for a job.

Well, with the economy the way it is right now (and will likely be this way for awhile), there are dozens (sometimes hundreds) of applicants per position. An employer does not state the reason they won't hire you, they just simply won't. So if they are deciding between 5 really good candidates & you happen to be one, then they see something on your background check that seems questionable, it may be an easy process of elimination thing for them. And especially if you don't put it on your resume and they see it, they may think your hiding something. If you make it to the final 5 or whatever similar stage, they are probably looking for reasons to disqualify 4 of those people for the position.
However, that would only be the case with career-minded jobs (especially government, political, doctors, educational, public relations, or anything requiring a license or a good reputation). For things like minimum wage jobs, I'm pretty sure they don't do major background checks, as they tend to care more about your attitude and personality.

Just passed a state police and FBI background check. Work on SM. Though I don't exactly know what they were looking for in the check. Not sure if that's helpful. I read on here somewhere that you can get a number to use instead of your SSN. Maybe look into that?
Re: Camsites and Background Checks?
I don't think so, I was hired at a private investigation firm earlier this year, and they did an extensive background check on me, and it took about a month to get hired. I was hired to do canvassing work, and I was really excited about the job, but once I started working I ended up hating it, because it's a lot like telemarketing and it was absolutely boring, so I ended up quitting after all of that, but anyways, I have been on myfreecams for 4 years, since 2008, and nothing was brought up to me about the site, as I am sure it would have been. My credit information, and a few other things came up that I had to explain to her, but as far as camming, it was never brought up or discussed.
